I Have noticed over time that it seems movies are made to make Americans accept coming technology. I cite the example of the I am Legend with will smith, in the opening scene we see that there has been a serum that is used to cure cancer. Not to long after this the AP released a blurb about the fact that they may have found a cure for cancer that they have been testing on lab animals and have had some success with. There may be other movies that do this too can anyone think of any others??
Truth as we know is way stranger then fiction. I believe that the "Media" lays clues out all over the place, so I have a few to add. I will give the movie and the bullet points I notice.
*Close Encounters of the Third Kind* 1972
1. Anthrax Scare to ward off would be investigators in to "Devils Mountain" is reminiscent of 9/11 anthrax scare.
2. The mountain is of course a volcano representation, trying to show people where we truly came from as is also the scene of contact when the aliens walk down a Pyramid plat form which is what a pyramid truly represents...A Volcano.
3. The unforgettable "do-re-mi" gingle, that they make contact with. This jingle is also all over the place, such as NBC Jingle, Happy Birthday, etc.
*Independence Day* 1997
1. Test market for 9/11 reception as well as first "Fake" contact soon to come.
*Wag the Dog* 1997
1. Tells us of the whole Clinton era. "They see one bomb drop down a chimney and the american public bought that war"..."Truth is....we filmed that in a basement 1:36 scale" "WW2 what do you remember, 5 guys planting the flag...we remember the slogans (ie..."Lets Roll"), we don't remember the war...that's show business, that's what we do"
I am actually compiling movies, cause I've seen this pattern for a while, anyways good post. Peace
