When peter used his sword to cut off the ear of one who was taking Christ to be judged, Jesus did NOT decry the violence........
11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Thank you for the additional scripture to prove the point. Sir, when jesus returns in to clouds at the end of times, what is it that happens???????

Everyone wants to ignore the fact that Jesus will return in great fury with a "sword" to that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
The commandments are NOT being taught anymore, nor are they even been allowed to be seen in our schools. The dramatic increase in crime since the 60's is proof. The vileness that is pornography that is everywhere. The arrogance of "secular humanisim" is rampant. America was mankinds "last best hope" for the world, and has abandoned God's will. America and the world will pay the price.
......Well if Jesus is coming back with a "sword" then we better arm ourselves to protect him....I mean, he is going to get mowed down before he gets 10 feet out of the clouds........Literal is literal....so get him some kevlar or throw him a decent gun as soon as you can....things have changed down here since swords were of much use.
The commandments are not being taught anymore? Do you live on the moon or something? Parents and churches are responsible to teach their kids. Not the schools. But if kids these days are so stupid that they can't figure out the golden rule without it being presented..."Thou ye sayeth meeth" Well than society is screwed.

Almost all of revelations is about the death of billions of sinners........
His time of earth was spent teaching man how to have peace on earth through love and many will and have taken that, yet billion more will die for refusing his teachings. Part of those teachings are DOING his fathers will and keepng the commandments............
America has allowed Idolotry to flurish and many other abominations.

So god caused the 9/11 terrorism? Well then, rally the troops, time to bomb heaven and burn down the churches since according to the OP it's god's fault for what's happening.

As for the author of this thread, is your last name Phelps by any chance?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
To take notice of; to regard with special attention; to regard as worthy of special consideration; hence, to care for; to heed.
...the laws of nature and of nature's God...
...all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator...
...appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world ...
...a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence...
Perfect happiness, I believe, was never intended by the Deity ... THOMAS JEFFERSON, letter to John Page, Jul. 15, 1763
The only method of doing this is to assume a perfect resignation to the Divine will...
The opinions I have advanced… are the effect of the most clear and long-established conviction that the Bible and the Testament are impositions upon the world, that the fall of man, the account of Jesus Christ being the Son of God, and of his dying to appease the wrath of God, and of salvation by that strange means, are all fabulous inventions, dishonorable to the wisdom and power of the Almighty; that the only true religion is Deism, by which I then meant, and mean now, the belief of one God, and an imitation of his moral character, or the practice of what are called moral virtues—and that it was upon this only (so far as religion is concerned) that I rested all my hopes of happiness hereafter. So say I now—and so help me God.
...I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church....
But while this syllabus is meant to place the character of Jesus in its true and high light, as no impostor Himself, but a great Reformer of the Hebrew code of religion, it is not to be understood that I am with Him in all His doctrines. I am a Materialist; he takes the side of Spiritualism; he preaches the efficacy of repentance towards forgiveness of sin; I require counterpoise of good works to redeem it, etc., etc. It is the innocence of His character, the purity and sublimity of His moral precepts, the eloquence of His inculcations, the beauty of the apologues in which He conveys them, that I so much admire; sometimes, indeed, needing indulgence to eastern hyperbolism. My eulogies, too, may be founded on a postulate which all may not be ready to grant. Among the sayings and discourses imputed to Him by His biographers, I find many passages of fine imagination, correct morality, and of the most lovely benevolence; and others, again, of so much ignorance, so much absurdity, so much untruth, charlatanism and imposture, as to pronounce it impossible that such contradictions should have proceeded from the same Being. I separate, therefore, the gold from the dross; restore to Him the former, and leave the latter to the stupidity of some, and roguery of others of His disciples. Of this band of dupes and impostors, Paul was the great Coryphaeus, and first corruptor of the doctrines of Jesus.
...I am a Christian, in the only sense in which he wished anyone to be: sincerely attached to his doctrines in preference to all others...
In extracting the pure principles which he taught, we should have to strip off the artificial vestments in which they have been muffled by priests, who have travestied them into various forms... of nonsense. We must reduce our volume to the simple evangelists, select, even from them, the very words only of Jesus, paring off the amphibologisms into which they have been led, by forgetting often, or not understanding, what had fallen from him, by giving their own misconceptions as his dicta, and expressing unintelligibly for others what they had not understood themselves. There will be found remaining the most sublime and benevolent code of morals which has ever been offered to man. I have performed this operation for my own use, by cutting verse by verse out of the printed book, and arranging the matter which is evidently his, and which is as easily distinguishable as diamonds in a dunghill.

34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
