When peter used his sword to cut off the ear of one who was taking Christ to be judged, Jesus did NOT decry the violence........

10Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

11Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

This is from the book of John, btw.

Jesus did indeed decry the violence, in the very passages you pointed out. He told Peter to put away his sword, and according to Matthew, so that he should not die from the violence he tried to start. He also healed the servant's ear, according to the book of Luke.

Matthew 26:51-52

And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

Luke22:49-51

When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

THIS is why I admonish you; your constant misrepresentation of God and Jesus is absurd. Read the book, pray for understanding, then perhaps, if God so wills, state His message. All you seem to be stating is yours.

Dude.

(In my opinion) God does not curse people or countries based on whether they follow the right story or not. How are we to know for sure what the exact truth, in every little detail? And keep in mind that the Bible was written by man. The authors could have been lying. This we do now know for sure. That basic rule applies to every religion on earth. It was created by man, and it is judged by man. Not the divine.

Stop blaming our problems on people 'following the wrong religion'. It's immature and sick. This kind of intolerance is often the reason we're at war all the time!

Someone mentioned 'politics' in this thread.
Interesting though disappointing topic if those knew the truth of the matter.

The truth:
Serve in only 'one' term of Congress or Senate and you have a pension and free health care the rest of your life.
Attempt to change the system during or after holding office....you lose both.
Hence our politicians have every reason in the world to keep quiet.
Those they admired did...and as most sheep do...they follow.
Courage and conviction is a rare trait found in humans.
It is the 'golden rule or golden mean' in terms of humanity though so few achieve/earn it. Our creator seems to honor these traits as evidenced throughout history though mankind lives in the world of deception devised by those who benefit from it. They take pleasure in witnessing how those around them are powerless to change it. It gives them what little satsifaction they have in life....though they know inside that they themselves are unhappy and often live miserable lives though in ways most could not 'appreciate'. They violate the laws of nature as applied to mankind and therefor naturally suffer the consequences.
If America wants freedom, they must remove the pension benefit though perhaps retain the healthcare (with exception of those with pre-existing conditions). Real patriotic types may have a chance to get in office on true merit...rather via patrimony or obliged obedience.
The problem one finds in this 'system' is that often those seeking office, seek it for the for the 'personal' benefits (pension, healthcare, inside info., deals, ego, image). Neither brings true happiness and self fulfillment in the end.
This 'system' was designed this way to ensure secrecy of the 'business' transactions of which take place daily. Besides the loss of pension and healthcare benefits from those who would choose the path of the 'dissident' ...........those will also find their very life in danger or at the very least the victim of blackmail. Espionage and treason are commonplace in such environments and are often legally 'forgiven' for the promise of silence/secrecy and perhaps 'future' favors of which....surely follows.
Again, to fix the system one would have to remove the 'carrots' that seem to attract time and again the 'wrong' type of people to lead the 'people'. Most are out for themselves...part of the puzzle of which the truely wealthy and well connected has purchased. This will change soon though one wonders why the public has been so ignorant of these issues?
A revolution is in the works shortly. The question is, will you find yourself a sheep, wolf or a catalyst?

Thank you for the additional scripture to prove the point. Sir, when jesus returns in to clouds at the end of times, what is it that happens???????

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

www.biblegateway.com...

Everyone wants to ignore the fact that Jesus will return in great fury with a "sword" to that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Almost all of revelations is about the death of billions of sinners........

His time of earth was spent teaching man how to have peace on earth through love and many will and have taken that, yet billion more will die for refusing his teachings. Part of those teachings are DOING his fathers will and keepng the commandments............

America has allowed Idolotry to flurish and many other abominations.

The commandments are NOT being taught anymore, nor are they even been allowed to be seen in our schools. The dramatic increase in crime since the 60's is proof. The vileness that is pornography that is everywhere. The arrogance of "secular humanisim" is rampant. America was mankinds "last best hope" for the world, and has abandoned God's will. America and the world will pay the price.

......Well if Jesus is coming back with a "sword" then we better arm ourselves to protect him....I mean, he is going to get mowed down before he gets 10 feet out of the clouds........Literal is literal....so get him some kevlar or throw him a decent gun as soon as you can....things have changed down here since swords were of much use.

The commandments are not being taught anymore? Do you live on the moon or something? Parents and churches are responsible to teach their kids. Not the schools. But if kids these days are so stupid that they can't figure out the golden rule without it being presented..."Thou ye sayeth meeth" Well than society is screwed.

Yes, Jesus will return as the Bible states. But my name is not Jesus, and I doubt yours is either. That is His role; ours is to be humble and an example of the love and good news (gospel) of the teachings of Jesus. In that endeavor, we are to emulate Jesus. I'm sure you are familiar with "he who is without sin, let him cast the first stone"? That is wisdom, to show others the way without force and hatred and condemnation.

Almost all of revelations is about the death of billions of sinners........

We are all sinners, you, me, every man, woman, and child on this planet has sometime, somehow, in some way created offense to others... and that is a sin. And there is much more in Revelation than a bunch of 'evil sinners dying'. I suggest you read it again.

His time of earth was spent teaching man how to have peace on earth through love and many will and have taken that, yet billion more will die for refusing his teachings. Part of those teachings are DOING his fathers will and keepng the commandments............

I do not remember anywhere in the Bible where Jesus condemned people for their ways; rather I remember plenty of places where Jesus forgave people and tried to show them the way peacefully. He told the truth, yes, but He told it in such a way as to bring others to the light, not in such a way as to drive them deeper into darkness.

There is an old saying: "You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar." No, it's not Biblical, but it is true nonetheless. I am pretty well known around here as the guy you send Jehovah's Witnesses to in order to get rid of them. I don't berate them, threaten them with 'God's wrath', or anything like that. I talk to them. I discuss things with them. And I have wound up 'converting' more than one. I know of no one who screams to people about how God will destroy them who has convinced even one person to even read the book.

These are all God's children you are talking to. Every person on the planet is a child of God. You just offended a few dozen (at least) of God's children, and not one of those is better for it. Now how would you feel if I came down on your children without any good coming of it? How would you feel if your children were outside crying for no reason because someone made them angry?

Our purpose is to call the unbelievers to Jesus, yes. But we will never accomplish that through threats. Your candle to be shone to all is your life, not just your words.

America has allowed Idolotry to flurish and many other abominations.

Yes, it has. But it also allows freedom to worship our Creator as we see fit. People in other countries do not have that right. Look at China, where only government approved religious services are allowed. Look at the Middle East, where being Christian is to be beheaded. We have the ability to speak our minds, and the right to worship freely. That right can not exist within the confines of mankind without being extended to all. That includes those we disagree with.

All are true, except that America cannot abandon God's will. We can follow it faithfully, or we can become part of the final plan. These are our choices individually, as well as a nation. If our nation cannot follow what we consider to be God's will, then we can still follow it ourselves.

But in order to truly be a part of God's will, then we have to be a part of what the Bible says He wants:

Matthew 18:12-14

How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?

And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

Condemnation of those who disagree with us leads only to anger and resentment. If you truly want to be one who calls the lost sheep, you must do it with a gentle voice, not a cattle prod. Sheep run from cattle prods.

Here's a nice video for US Christians (and I mean real christians, not the people who say their christian but follow only the parts of the bible which were believed and writen in pre-christian times aka Closet Jews)

After seeing this I hope your backward and twisted vision on general Islam is a bit less skewed.

They might put many a christian to shame when you see how much they honnor and believe in Jesus Christ, one of the most important prophets in Islam.

As for the author of this thread, is your last name Phelps by any chance?

Its funny you say that because on one of Satan's plots involved framing God's men as terrorists. Its also funny because when the frame up plan failed all of hell tried to storm David's house. All that happened back in November 2005. None of it worked though. Ever since then all the plots set against not only the Son, but also the Father, yeah there are two of them, have failed.

Its fun to read threads discussing prophecy however; some of you really want to understand it. I always tell people that time is cyclical and the stories of the bible are told to illustrate this basic concept. What was destroyed - what seems like - a long time ago, was only 37 years ago however, will one day come back together and as a matter of fact it has. The cross is fully assembled and the Son will arrive in about 3 weeks, more like 18 days. So, we'll be able to wrap up this war soon. I know you are all happy to hear that.

As it is right now, the demons got their backs to a wall and are extremely desperate. In a way they're not even trying anymore and just committing suicide to avoid the embarassment of the absolute rout they've experienced over the last 33 months.

Well you guys continue your debate.

I'll include a statement from one of the most notorious traitors we have had in our history besides Rockefellers' and many more....

FDR..............true quote in March 1939...

March 4, 1939 - Quote from a report of the secret committee by President Roosevelt,; “I am making no concessions to business, or for relief. I have a military machine sufficient to stop any organized revolt. I am putting MY PEOPLE ahead of all instruments. I’ll have had a full understanding with Chamberlain, and we will destroy this unemployed condition with a WAR, and a WAR only. To Hell with the American people, as far as a Democracy is concerned. It does not exist. It never did, and we will never let it happen that way. I am going to crush business, infest America with all the aliens possible, and in the last analysis, declare Martial Law, and confiscate everything I need for a true and forceful Dictatorship. My New Deal is a failure, and I know it, but no one else will tell me that I must discontinue my present activities, and program.” From the Secret Audience with the Military Appropriation Committee; The Ways and Means Committee; The Special War Finance Committee; and this copy was presented to me by mail through Senator Lundeen.” “The Red Fog Over America” by William Guy Carr, 1955.

In 1841 Clinton Roosevelt published in America “The Science of Government Founded on Natural Laws”, This was nothing more than a plagiarized version of the teachings of Professor Adam Weishaupt of Frankfort University, Germany, the renegade Jesuit priest who arranged for the agenteur of the Illuminati to infiltrate into French Freemasonary in 1776 so “The Secret Power” which directed the World Revolutionary Movement, and the Conspiracy of Satan, at that time could use Freemasonsary to further their secret plans and ambitious and at the same time cloak their diabolitical purpose.

The fact that FDR’s New Deal, his NRA, and other political policies and economic devices fitted perfectly into the “Long Range Plans”, of the Illuminati proved the continuity of the conspiracy from 1841 to 1945. It has been explained that Roosevelt made known his secret plans to establish a dictatorship in American in March 1939 when he gave a secret audience to some of his governments special committee. It has also been mentioned that Roosevelt was kept a virtual prisoner from after Yalta until his death presumably to prevent him telling the truth in the event his conscience troubled him when he realized that he was about to meet his maker.

FYI:

Freemasons founded the united States. They believed in a Supreme Being whom they indentified as the Grand Architect of the Universe. They also indentified this Supreme Being in the Declaration of Independence and their personal writings; to wit:

In the 1st Amendment it states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof

source

Respecting means:

To take notice of; to regard with special attention; to regard as worthy of special consideration; hence, to care for; to heed.

source

Therefore the government is not supposed to "take notice" of religion at all!!

...the laws of nature and of nature's God...

...all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator...

...appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world ...

...a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence...

source

Jefferson said this:

Perfect happiness, I believe, was never intended by the Deity ... THOMAS JEFFERSON, letter to John Page, Jul. 15, 1763

The only method of doing this is to assume a perfect resignation to the Divine will...

source

Thomas Paine said:

The opinions I have advanced… are the effect of the most clear and long-established conviction that the Bible and the Testament are impositions upon the world, that the fall of man, the account of Jesus Christ being the Son of God, and of his dying to appease the wrath of God, and of salvation by that strange means, are all fabulous inventions, dishonorable to the wisdom and power of the Almighty; that the only true religion is Deism, by which I then meant, and mean now, the belief of one God, and an imitation of his moral character, or the practice of what are called moral virtues—and that it was upon this only (so far as religion is concerned) that I rested all my hopes of happiness hereafter. So say I now—and so help me God.

source

...I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church....

source

Thomas Jefferson even wrote his own version of the new testament by cutting up a bible and throwing away all the christian dogma:

But while this syllabus is meant to place the character of Jesus in its true and high light, as no impostor Himself, but a great Reformer of the Hebrew code of religion, it is not to be understood that I am with Him in all His doctrines. I am a Materialist; he takes the side of Spiritualism; he preaches the efficacy of repentance towards forgiveness of sin; I require counterpoise of good works to redeem it, etc., etc. It is the innocence of His character, the purity and sublimity of His moral precepts, the eloquence of His inculcations, the beauty of the apologues in which He conveys them, that I so much admire; sometimes, indeed, needing indulgence to eastern hyperbolism. My eulogies, too, may be founded on a postulate which all may not be ready to grant. Among the sayings and discourses imputed to Him by His biographers, I find many passages of fine imagination, correct morality, and of the most lovely benevolence; and others, again, of so much ignorance, so much absurdity, so much untruth, charlatanism and imposture, as to pronounce it impossible that such contradictions should have proceeded from the same Being. I separate, therefore, the gold from the dross; restore to Him the former, and leave the latter to the stupidity of some, and roguery of others of His disciples. Of this band of dupes and impostors, Paul was the great Coryphaeus, and first corruptor of the doctrines of Jesus.

...I am a Christian, in the only sense in which he wished anyone to be: sincerely attached to his doctrines in preference to all others...

source: Letter To Dr. Benjamin Rush. Washington, April 21, 1803.

In extracting the pure principles which he taught, we should have to strip off the artificial vestments in which they have been muffled by priests, who have travestied them into various forms... of nonsense. We must reduce our volume to the simple evangelists, select, even from them, the very words only of Jesus, paring off the amphibologisms into which they have been led, by forgetting often, or not understanding, what had fallen from him, by giving their own misconceptions as his dicta, and expressing unintelligibly for others what they had not understood themselves. There will be found remaining the most sublime and benevolent code of morals which has ever been offered to man. I have performed this operation for my own use, by cutting verse by verse out of the printed book, and arranging the matter which is evidently his, and which is as easily distinguishable as diamonds in a dunghill.

source: letter to Adams written from Monticello, October, 1813

The Founding Fathers were Deist not christian. There are many other quotes you can find. I own most of the collected writings/letters of the Founding Fathers. They are published as sets. You should read them; then you would understand the true origins of the united States and why they separated religion from government.

Thank you for taking the time to prove my point. The founding fathers were true christians who rejected the idiocy of papal dogma, as jefferson does state. In fact I must agree that it is unclear as to if 'paul" was even a true apostle.

The founders were closer to true "christians" than any TV crook or "megachurch" today. They understood the corruption of the papal priest and other fakers. The "amendment" only states congress shall make no law............

America had enjoyed tremendous blessings from God for 200 years. The slowly, removed God from schools, courthouses, forced mass murder on millions (ROE V Wade), allowed the vilness of clinton to remain in office, allowed the media to push secular humanisim and multicultualisim on our youth while taking away God................

As far back as Daniel 9:11 he warned Israel to seek his blessings, america (modern Israel) has turned away, is following false Gods, even elevated vile islam to "equal" status with the true God. Catholic's worship false gods and idols.

For 200 years america followed the commandments, did God's will, and were Blessed among nations. Now too many americans have turned their backs on God's will and the curses are coming.............

America has changed to a worship of convienience "what feels good" a religion that doesn't make them feel guilty or says dont worry you won't be here (rapture BS).............

The idea of seperation of church and state is a "marxist" idea to seperate america from freedom...............

Thanks for the love........but Jesus said the following:

34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Pretty different than most TV preachers spin it...................so many today think all they need to do is "believe" and be raptured out before the tribulation.

Faith in Jesus and God is much more than just "believe" it is action with your whole heart. Those who have faith in Christ must also follow his teachings to DO the fathers will and commandments.
