By 2012, the 'powers-that-be' plan to turn the Internet into nothing more than a glorified cable TV system where access to anything other than mainstream sites will be highly restricted - just like in communist China. We cannot allow this to happen. Only the power of the people can stop this. If we fail to voice our views on this issue NOW, the Internet as we know it will be gone forever and important sites like InfoWars.com and AboveTopSecret.com will not be there for us anymore.

This is a serious call to action folks. This video needs to go viral as a matter of extreme urgency. Of all the videos I've uploaded to YouTube over the past 16 months, THIS IS THE MOST URGENT OF THEM ALL. We have now reached a huge crisis point in terms of our freedom of speech and our freedom to access information from non-corporate sources. We can either do nothing and just watch the Internet being dismatntled before our very eyes, or we can take action now and salvage what's left of the Internet as it stands today.

If everyone who watches this video rates it and shares it with their YouTube contacts, we can make our voices heard and together we can save the Internet. All it takes is for everyone to do SOMETHING, no matter how small. It'll only take 20 seconds of your time, but it will have a big impact in waking people up to what's being done to our freedom of speech and our freedom to access information. I have heard about something like this being incrementally introduced in countries around the world. A basic pay per view broadband service with the mainstream site's like google, msn, yahoo and any that can afford being in the free public realm while people will have to pay for use of smaller sites. The more obscure a site, the more it will cost to visit.

Supposedly, there is an early version of this being implemented in either the UK or Canada (cant remember off the top of my head) by 2011.

BUT:

How can this work? ISP's charge for line leasing and bandwidth..how can they justify charging you for visiting a low traffic site?
How will internet advertising work if this is implemented?
Where will this money go? Directly to the ISP's? Source server companies? Websites? Government?
If so, will it be pay per visit and have no fixed line lease charge or bandwidth charge?

A simple but devastating system attack on a national government system will have to be the next major stepping stone to this.
It has already started on a small scale with the ISP protection of copyrighted material by cracking down on illegal downloading. But how can this be fully implemented?

What happens to normal web based businesses?

I cant find any properly technical info on this on the net, can anyone fill me in??
