Hello all, I don't know the proper protocol for site introductions and such, but here goes. I've been lurking ATS for a long time, over 5 years. I always felt comfortable lurking because I knew at least some people shared some of my ideas/principles. But, over time, I've noticed that ATS has taken a big hit in the fields of intel and perecption. I remember when this was a "conspiracy"--or at the very least-- THE "alternative information" site. Now, as I've grown and graduated college, there are daily debates of people taking sides for or against Obama and McCain??? Are you serious? A conspiracy site that vouches for politicians who are on the same side?? I expect more from the true posters at ATS and those who truly know the deal behind why this country was founded. Surely the enlightened understand that any and every political issue became null and void once the 16th Amendment and other government heist projects were enacted. If you really think there are teams called Democrats and Republicans, both have already won. The classical republican and free market ideals, where individual liberty and civic virtue are suppsoed to thrive, are long gone. I know that there are posters who still realize that its all a sham, I jsut wish you all would come together and crush these Obama vs McCain debates. They are ruining the credibility of this site. Hopefully I didn't disrupt any of the T&C's, but I'm here to stay as it stands. Lets start this freakin' perception reovlution.

I don't even view any thread that discusses these two sides of the same counterfeit coin they are trying to get us to accept.

I don't CARE what these two NWO whores do. It will all add up to the same o, same o.

*I* like to hear what Paul and Kusinich are saying, and others who are speaking out against these "bread'n'circuses" (minus the bread, of course) charades.

Thanks for bringing this into focus - and welcome to membership at ATS!

Thanks a lot ASU, I was contemplating speaking about Paul and Kucinich, but thats the easiest way to be shot down by the --realists--who vote only for the choice presented to them.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I humbly agree with you in principle.

Yet, I was given the impression by elder members of this community (as you can see, I am but a fledgling around here) that this influx of the lovers of political theater was to be expected. In fact, I suspected that a architectural change had taken place, segregating the political chatter and noise from the mainstream.

However, those same members are free to 'roam' about, bringing their ironically irrelevant theater with them. Several will be educated, few will observe, most will be too busy making noise to actually hear anything themselves, let alone consider it worthy of consideration.

I am hoping that the noise will subside, and the regular hum of the work of thousand watchdogs, scholars, thinkers, and human beings will return.

But if you're going to tell me these chattering monkeys are here to stay..., you'll break my heart.

I haven't been lurking for years, and only a member for I think for 5 months...I agree with you about all of this "Ra Ra go Republican, go Democrat" propaganda, at least when you say that people on ATS should know better then to think there's an actual party distinction, or that either party gives a blue flying you know what about any of us...but I am not disappointed that it goes on...it just means we have much work to do Grasshopper, to school them

Oh and edited to add, welcome to ATS
Glad you became a member and stopped lurking so your "voice" got read! Happy posting and I think that when school starts again we shall see the worm turn, so to speak.

Thank you for that affirmation. "It's the most wonderful time... of the year..."

((I'll let you imagine the tune))

Ha, yes! Thanks all. Max, I've followed your posts for quite some time. Good to see your seniority here!

You're too kind.

[EDIT TO STRIKE]
I think we've waited long enough. At any rate the discussion can still continue, I just want to keep the Breaking News area properly 'pruned' if you'll pardon the presumption.

Sorry got my posts mixed up! For someone with 'seniority' I still make the simplest of mistakes!

i feel the same way. ive been on this site for a long time also, but it is shocking how for a conspiracy site many here cant seem to grasp the fact that the republicans and democrats are the exact same thing. then they start whining and crying when you go in their partisan threads and tell them both parties are the same...

its almost like they get mad at you for ruining their game of make believe. dont worry though there are also a good many on here that feel the same as you, i would say just try to ignore the individuals who are not quite enlightened yet...

Many of us view the Republican vs. Democrat parties as the joke and sham that it is, but that doesn't keep a few of us from getting into the drama. It gives us something to argue about, which can be fun as long as the proper measure of humor is injected.

True, but don't you find it kind of sad when some take it so seriously that it blinds them to the truth, or at least the lie?

You're posting in one of the political forums. There will be Democratic and Republican discussions, liberal/conservative/socialist/libertarian etc. discussions and all sorts of other political persuasions besides. These forums once were, until recently, part of a separate site called "Above Politics," reserved for political discussions pretty much exclusively. Now Above Poltics has merged with ATS.

You're not required to participate in the political discussions if you don't want to.

There are many other forums you will find more to your taste. Feel free to participate in those and don't tell others that they can't discuss what you don't want them to.

So you believe this discussion doesn't belong here? I respectfully disagree. I honor the opinion of the OP and agree with his observation, the fact that it precludes nonsensical forays into political shadow puppetry does not require your participation either, using similar rationale.

i completely agree. just because some on here make threads like:

"mccain farted"
and
"obama dosnt give gifts to his children"

does not mean that we are not allowed to comment on how utterly ridiculous they are. keep on exsposing the conspiracy of republicans vs democrats!

Amen Brotha or Sistah

Now I can't get that song out of my head. I thank you for that, and for the laugh...I can just see that commercial right now in my head

I agree, the rah rah stuff is pretty hard to swallow.

On the other hand it does provide many of us with a glimpse into the "as seen on TV" flavor of the US political process.

The divisions are very distinct in attitude.
But monolithic in the grand scheme of things.
That is, big business is running the show, no matter which way you slice it.

It truly is the perfect situation for those who wish to remain in power.

We fight over hamburger issues, when the whole cow is at "steak". (sorry bad pun).

So, therein lies the conspiracy. we're part of it.
Who wants to jump off the merry-go-round and discuss some real issues?
anyone?

How many REAL issues do you think there are?
I think solving the energy issue would go a long way in allowing other problems to fix themselves..

I adhere to the South Park school of politics: Douche Bag or Turd Sandwich? The people who honestly think there is any kind of real difference between these fools have already been reeled in. I don't think I've read a single Obama or McCain thread because frankly, I don't have time for theater. There are too many other interesting threads to read.

That's rich!

It's so bad it's good!

Thanks for that!

I agree with you on two points, one implied the other inferred.

There may yet be something to be learned from a careful observation of the theater. After all, there are good directors, and there are bad ones; just because you don't see them doesn't mean you shouldn't observe the production. You just have to drop the paradigm of accepting the imagery.

Mastering energy, and several other problematic issues, would serve greatly towards improving our nation, and indeed mankind's, future. Were I granted a voice in the matter I would demand that resolving this parasitic relationship we have with this planet is an imperative for survival. Of course, PLEASE don't construe this to mean I believe in either the tooth-fairy, Peter Rabbit, or Carbon Credits!

Thanks for that Max, Sestias might have missed the point. I posted in a political forum that probably should not exist. Or at least the accepted subject matter shouldn't. I am glad I've been able to spark a mini-rallying point!

I love to get into the discussions over McCain and Obama just like anyone else and while I support neither of them, I do find myself getting very frustrated with the approach those anti-obama people have been taking this year. I get very frustrated sometimes! That's all i can really say or this post will be removed.
