USA will not publicly do any thing to save Georgia from this mess, reason.
Look at this financial blog link:
www.bloggingstocks.com...
If Russia put on the market all $50 billion of its Fannie Mae mortgage-backed bonds and its US dollar-backed assets and of course will accept only Rubles and Euros in the future sale of Russian oil and natural gas, which the European will willingly do.
Then Russia could create a massive financial meltdown of the USA economy which could dwarf the mortgage US crisis.
It is not so easy for the neon con in Washington to lay they grand plan!
Kacou.

That doesn't sound like good news. Not now Russia just stated that they won't negotiate a ceasefire with Shaakasvili.

If the Italians go in, it will be as peaccekeepers under EU or UN authority. I don't think you will see them in an active role.

Russia themselves actually requested the meeting with NATO around Sunday, and now NATO are saying that it won't take place.

How on earth does that work...

I presumed everyone knew the missile shield was to increase the potential of US nuclear first strike capabilities? In any event, looks like the Georgia war may sway Poland to adopt the plan, fear sells.
