Im not even going to waste my time reading this thread. Im just going to respond to the OP. (rare for me, but time atm is precious)
Why not start with eliminating YOU first. How would you feel then? Maybe YOU are the one taking MY resources and wasting MY space... how would you
feel then?
You think a war will solve all the problems? Would a war where everyone else is against only you count? You are pretty quick to pull the trigger,
would you be so quick if that trigger was aimed at your own head?
Its always "them" until we find out that "they" are us.
P.S. - In Fact, YOU OP writer have just accquired the honor of being the first person on my 'do not engage' list just for encouraging people to read
and discuss such ignorance.

Oh yes...we need a war, but we need the right war. Nuclear war is inevitable...Western society must prevail and inferior backwards cultures must be
eliminated. I know it sounds like I'm supporting genocide, but it's quite the opposite. This is the only way humanity can progress as a whole.

Depopulation of the human race would be a viable option, not simply for the purpose of preserving resources, but for the purpose of preserving and
advancing the human race.
There are other alternatives, however, to depopulation.
The humans that are weak, mentally and physically; humans that are ignorant and unintelligent; and humans that are hopeless should be held against
their will in a closed, isolated society which is maintained by others who have proved themselves worthy to the human race.
To accomplish this, national borders would have to be erased, one currency would prevail, religion would be banned and one oversight government would
maintain day-to-day business. The reason being isn't for "new world order" and world domination, but simply because these things at their current
state only serve to divide people. To maintain that division of people, media and education must dumb the people down. Therefore, this only creates
more people to hold back the human race's advancements.
When you eliminate the lower beings of our society, you eliminate classes of economic, intellectual and social status. These are also divisionary
tools which also only hold back advancements of humans.
Those deemed to be unfit to help themselves and keep up with human advancements would be put in to this closed, isolated society where their daily
lives would be run by people superior in intelligence and social status to themselves. They would be given clothing, food and shelter. They could work
in this isolated society to help better the society.
If individuals in the society learned how to take care of themselves and function like an intelligent human being, rather than a stain on society,
they could leave the compound and rejoin everyone else as a free person.
It is something they could work towards. It would be their motivation.
These people who wander around mindlessly and aimlessly through life, accomplishing nothing, only hold us as a species down. These people who don't
pay tax dollars to maintain the society's infrastructure, and people who live off welfare and government health care only hold down the people who
are trying to make a living for themselves. These people who are too stupid to take care of themselves and too weak and too lazy to go out and get an
education to keep up with the rest of society only hold the rest of us back.
If I had it my way, this is how the world would look. I would not spare these "elite" either. I find them to be mentally weak. I feel they would
suffer miserably if their wealth was ripped from under them.
Do I believe my view of how the world should be will ever happen? Hell no. But I figured I'd share it with you people anyway.
My views aren't trolling. My views aren't "forum gang" related. My views are nothing but sincere.

Even though your post appears radical, I will have to agree with you. The world is becoming overpopulated and will grow exponentially! I had felt this
way since high school when I would argue for pro-choice (abortion).
In contrast to the two choices you mentioned, war or viral outbreak, I will have to suggest a more extreme idea.
Perhaps the government should find an alien race to feed on humans. That way we will not have to worry about rebuilding our infrastructure or funding
pricey vaccination.
U2U me your thoughts.

the OP is lazy. "oh dear we have a problem" "whats the easiest solution?"
"i know kill people and children in the most horrible way possible!" "as long as it is'nt me or my family"
what rubbish.
the problem is not overpopulation, the problem is the system. they have the vast majority of world hooked on consumerism, its that which cannot be
supported. 6 billion people living of the land spread out and only taking what they need to survive is fine.
we need to go back to living with nature, not living against it. or child birth resrictions need putting in place, but people will not accept it
without good reason, so education is needed with it.
the OP is coming from the powers that be prespective, "how can we reduce population, keep power, and our standard of living?"
but it will not work long term, there would still be millions taking resources that take thousands of years to come back and in some cases are
irreversable.
the other option is to release the technology(if it exsists) they have hidden so we can populate other planets, but this time get it right.
people should beable to live out their lives naturally, they did'nt create the problems, they were born into them and have little power to change the
way things are done. blame those who rape the planet for profit if your so concerned about the future of the planet.
people are forced into this system, they have little other choice. what land is'nt owned by somebody?

If not we will all die anyways because we will run out of resources. I think we will get this war and millions will die. I think this would be
great. If we can get the population down down around 500 million or so this would be great for the world. What do you guys think?
If thats the way you think maybe you should joined the armed services and go fight?

What is
wrong with you?
That sounds horrible. Only 500 million?
There are better ways to handle situations.
If its serious we could prohibit 1 child per family ever so many years.
Where do you get the idea the world can't support us?
It can easily if we weren't:
Polluting it
More organic untampered food
More healthy energy sources
We can easily change our ways and in time make a big turn around.

Great the posting can resume. To bad my friend wont even come back to the site but anyways I think his overall point is that we as humans need to
make a choice. We are blinded by money... well our controllers are anyways. We have the ability to switch to renewable resources so prolong our stay
here on earth and we dont. Eventually this stuff is going to run out and then what? I think the point of the thread is we need to wake up and change
otherwise we need to mass kill to survive. Sucks but its the truth. Our own greed and blindness needs to change.
IMHO mass killing isnt the way Id rather change to renewable sources but hey what do I know.

Things will ballance themselves naturally. If we continue like this we will inevitably face great disasters. Its not about how many we are but how we
live.
Killing people will not change anything in our behaviour, we have to respect Earth and love each other. That is where we have to change.

After reading this post I am surprised that not one person here, either for or against war didn't try thinking out of the box a little bit.
Yes the worlds population is growing exponentially but NO we don't need a war to manage it. How about instead of killing to re balance the earth we
look at branching out beyond our planet. Human nature to spread out yet no one has thought of actually doing that. Colonize not only our solar system
and beyond but how about making use of the land that is under our oceans. As for resources, there are many things we can do that are "green" to
manage ourselves well into a new millennium but unfortunately money, greed and power/control puts a stop to that. The only ones wanting a war like
that are the ones who can benefit financially and powerfully leaving the weak and poor to die in the streets (more for them (power/control mongers and
their birthright)
Stretching out into our own back yard of space is a great idea, not to mention all the resources out there waiting to be tapped. The technology is
there, why not use it for good for a change instead of destruction and human suffering.
They could end famine in Africa and other parts of the world but does it happen? no. Why? because that would mean the loss of power for an elite few.
Working together to get off this rock would do wonders for the environment as well as its people.

Yay! I got a warning in this thread for calling the thread starter 'stupid', and yet several people have suggested he kill himself, and have
received no warning. Oh the irony!
On topic:
The world is nowhere near being overpopulated. There are endless prairies that have yet to be inhabited. When that has happened, we will move to the
vast majority of the population living in apartments in skyscrapers. Even then, we could still colonize under water. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if
we could hold 100 + billion people on this planet. Probably a heck of a lot more.

I think yes there is a problem, but no war is not the answer as it is only going back 1 step rather that taking another angle. I believe humanity and
their morals and ideals need to be changed, a concious shift in respect for one another and the planet we inhabit, as we all are one in the end and in
comparison to the larger scale of things. For now we should stop helping the poor (natural selection) and learn how to become at peace with those in
our society and enviroment before we can then encourage those in poor to have a harmonious view, otherwise we will just bring our capitalist view to
these 3rd world countries.
Peace from New Zealand
