Institute Residency Requirements for AllPublic Offices

In my state we have a big problem with "carpet bagging" politicians.

This has led me to think that there should be residency requirements for every public office, like there is for President.

I think the Governor should have been born into his state, or at least raised there from childhood. Below there I think there should be a sliding scale, where the more authority a position carries, the longer you have to have lived among its constiguants.

Kind of like Hillary Clinton representing New York.

I agree. There should be mandatory residency requirements for public office.

To represent a state in congress or the senate, you should have been a resident for at least 5 years.
