Try to take it easy. I'm putting my plastic ruler and pencil bag in my binder right now...

I do agree that this is most likely propaganda to further create fear of the government as Alex Jones masterfully seems to do. I was just making the point that we are far too quick to dismiss claims made by others unless there is the ever elusive concrete proof.

Well, does Novus Ordo Mundi mean: New World Order?

If so, of course you'd be defending the establishment. Do you support the NWO?

Unlike you, many people take ATS very seriously.

The author of this thread stated his documentation and put it forth for researchers in a positive fashion.

You come along with total negativity and attack the website. I provided documentation of the quality of the articles on the website www.abovetopsecret.com..., the webmaster of which you said is fabricating the truth ... and you seem to imply the articles and references on the website are 'bad', and since they are there because of the webmaster, he is a liar.

Since the articles are anti-war and you decry them, that makes you pro-war. Why anyone would defend COINTELPRO activities and alleged COINTELPRO activities implies they are part of the problem.

I simply can not support your claims as to the veracity of COINTELPRO-type activity ... and you going out of your way to nit pik about insignificant detail only points out a disruptive agenda.

Your avatar says you chronicle ATS articles. What does that mean? Are you officially a part of the ATS folks.

If indeed you are an ATS article archivist, then you of all people would know who and what COINTELPRO is and what they do to eliminate people who work for peace and who work against the NWO.

It makes no sense that anyone who is an 'expert on ATS articles' and who 'archives ATS articles' -- would defend COINTELPRO -- and COINTELPRO-type activities -- in any way.

Does it? What is your position on COINTELPRO, are they 'good' or 'bad'?

I'm sorry but I just don't believe the website in question is that great. Nor does it say anything special. The same material is posted on hundreds if not thousands of websites daily. The website itself looks like crap imo. I believe this story is made up. It sounds like someone is fantasy prone and attempting to make themselves out to be more important that what they are in real life and get a little bit of publicity for their website. ATS is a million more times influential than the website in question.

Being there and understanding the reason you were sent there are two different things. There are lots of people who just want to bash "ragheads" just like lots of GI's in Vietnam wanted to kill "gooks". We have all seen the youtube videos of the young, gung ho killers. Like the guy who executed the puppy. Those are the people that I WOULD NOT GIVE CREDENCE TO UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

I do not have to fight in Iraq to be able to examine the reasons given for being there.

[edit on 8/7/08 by housegroove23]

Great post! Keep up the good work. And remember, there are several FBI counter-intelligence agents COINTELPRO who are on ATS.

You can pick them out because THEY ALWAYS ATTACK, rather than support. The always miss the entire point and try to use logic and are totally reptilian, totally sick.

So, don't be intimidated by these COINTELPRO goons who get paid to disrupt the work of compassionate people. I invite these goons to come after me and my posts ... they usually totally uneducated thugs. I p*ss on them.

Now, let's objectively go to the site in question:
www.informationclearinghouse.info...

This will drive COINTELPRO goons nuts, because it is objective. Now, let's look at the posts on the site, in an effort to detemine if the posts are legitmate or not, in an effort to determine if the person who hosts the sites is legitimate or not.

1. Courage to Resist www.couragetoresist.org...
Iraq War resister Robin Long jailed, facing three years in Army stockade
By Courage to Resist. August 7, 2008
Last month 25-year-old U.S. Army PFC Robin Long became the first war resister since the Vietnam War to be forcefully deported from Canadian soil and handed over to military authorities. Robin is currently being held in the El Paso County Jail, near Colorado Springs, Colorado, awaiting a military court martial for resisting the unjust and illegal war against and occupation of Iraq. Robin will be court martialed for desertion “with intent to remain away permanently”

hmmm. that sure sounds like COINTELPRO should be obliterated.

Let's look at the next post.

2. 'Gold Star Families For Peace' www.gsfp.org...
We as families of soldiers who have died as a result of war are organizing to be a positive force in our world to bring our countrys sons and daughters home from Iraq, to minimize the human cost of this war, and to prevent other families from the pain we are feeling as the result of our losses.

hmmm. COINTELPRO swine, up yours.

well, just keep going down the list of articles. I think I've already seen enough to endorse the website and believe the story is true about cowardly COINTELPRO creeps sucking *ss.

housegroove23 -- keep up the good work, it's good investigative reporting, and remember, COINTELPRO are *urds.

oh, here's story 3 on the site in the left-hand column

3. Iraq Veterans Against the War ivaw.org...
If you're in the military and you stand against the occupation of Iraq, the message is clear from at least 13 members of Congress: We've got your back.

Rep. John Conyers, chairman of the House judiciary committee, Rep. Lynn Woolsey, head of the Progressive Caucus and Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a two-time Democratic Presidential candidate, are among 13 members of the House of Representatives who sent President Bush a signed letter of support for members of the military and veterans "who oppose the war in Iraq and are working to bring it to a safe and speedy conclusion."

Now, I'm looking forward to responding to some of the apparent COINTELPRO people attacking your most informative post.

Yeah,CT this sounds like the FBI's SOP when it comes to Anti-War activists.

i cannot find a single legitimate reference to this story outside of a few very disreputable websites and a few anecdotes. smells like disinfo to me.

a lex-nex search shows no police reports, legal motions or anything of the like involving this alleged incident.

fabrications of a paranoid mind with a grudge. case closed.

NovusOrdoMundi, Alex Jones is one of the biggest thorns in the government's back. If it turns out that Alex is lying about this, you bet that the government WILL arrest him for lying. On a broadcast like his, you can't just make stuff up, and the same go for his articles. Tell you what, if it turns out that he was lying about this and he gets arrested, you send me a PM to remind me and I'll star every post you've made and every topic you've posted -- until then, I think I trust Alex a little more than I trust you.

As far as the OP's topic goes, the "Give this as much attention as possible!!!" was really annoying. If this is important (which it is), then people will star and flag the topic on their own accord, not because you told them to.

With all the attention this story is getting, I wonder how the "armed thugs" are going to react. If they continue, it'll just piss people off, but if they stop, the site will grow bigger. They've dug themselves in deep this time, although knowing them, they'll figure something out.

alex jones lies about this sort of thing as a matter of course. the "government" is barely aware of his existence and would not bother to try to arrest him. arresting somebody for fabricating a story is virtually impossible anyway. if you work for somebody you could be fired, there is a very very slim chance that if you defame an individual or corporation you could be sued, but being arrested is exceptionally unlikely.

Likely, the government couldn't care less what a political shock-jock of the conspiracy breed has to say. Much less can or would they bother to sue him for exercising his freedom of speech.

Furthermore, I agree that some people here are unaware of how a proper debate works. You claim something, you pick up the burden of proof.

Waiting on that proof.

You obviously don't know how the world works or how many times Alex Jones has been threatened by the government. He's been arrested by the government before on many occasions, but he was released every time.

reply to post by Iblis

Your post confuses me. It seems to be relevant to the topic, yet you're acting as if this topic is a "debate" topic. I'm not here to debate, I'm here to discuss. If you think Alex is lying, then all we have to do is wait on time. Time will give you the "proof" that you need. If you can't wait on time, then I can't wait on you to wait on me.

That's not cool at all to say something like that. This statement reflects a poor understanding of what is happening to our country during this war.

Do not for 1/2 a second blame the rank and file military. Most of them are young people just coming out of high school. Most of them don't know anymore than what they've been taught in high school, that the US are the good guys and anybody that opposes them are the bad guys. Many of them don't even start to get it until they get over there, and then get sent back in a body bag or alive but with permanent injuries.

The leaders, the people that know better are the ones to be held accountable. But don't disrespect these soldiers. The law is set up for them to be misinformed and to do as they are told.

It is our sick and dishonorable government that takes advantage of these honorable soldiers.

It is sick and dishonorable to disrespect them in the way that you have.

Very well put. This is not a pleasent event to have undergone, but if enough people pass it along and it gets big time exposure, people will say 'hey, enoughs enough' I hope and start paying attention to how the anti war protesters are getting hit hard now by spooks and the like.

Umm.. war in a country which has done nothing to you is not fighting for freedom. It's illegal and wrong. How the hell did you get to the conclusions that it's freedom?? You been eating enough freedom fries or what... damn. Under Saddam at least the country was stable, they also had running water and electricity. Sure a few of the unjust restrictions in their life (Saddams goons etc) have been lifted but most are worse off with the mass destruction and unrest that has been bought upon the country than before.

You are fighting for oil and control and profits, pure and simple, I pity the servicemen/servicewomen and general population who are stuck in Iraq/Afghanistan with all the govt propaganda washing over them. I hope they come home ASAP safely.

Did you recently learn about "COINTELPRO"? You seem to be fascinated with the word as you throw it out and make accusations at every turn.

Another thing that I find hilarious is that people like yourself will accuse others of being pro-war and pro-US Government just because they disagree with your opinion.

It reminds me of the "you're either with us or you're with the terrorists" line that you people blast. With you, its "you're either with Alex Jones or you're with the terrorists".

I wouldn't expect you to see the hypocrisy in that, so I won't hold my breath.

reply to post by SonicInfinity

I would expect a little more out of you, Sonic. Its kind of disturbing and embarrassing that someone who has been here for as long as you have would be so easily fooled by this.

Can you show me proof that this actually occurred to Tom Feeley? If not, then what should I, and others, assume? Please describe to me what those of us who don't unconditionally accept what Alex Jones says should believe with this complete absence of proof.

Whats even more embarrassing is that you actually believe the government would care enough to arrest Alex Jones for lying. And since when do you get arrested for lying? Am I missing something? When did they write that law? Where was I?

I don't care about stars, unlike the OP. I want proof that this occurred. If you can't provide it, and the best you can do is tell us to "wait" for the proof and try to provide reason by making the false claim that Jones would be arrested for lying, then your opinion and your logic is flawed, weak and misguided.

How disappointing.

The only thing true about the infowars website is this-Theres a war on for your mind.Nuff said.
I believe nothing else from that website. There are plenty of deceptive websites that will suck you in to some what if conspiracy without providing a shred of proof. These sites rely on innuendo, second hand statements from supposed "experts",video ,audio and pics all doctored with readily available software online, statements made by politicians, military types and then cropped and cut to fit the theory.

Heres a reality check;
We were hit by Al-quaida on 9/11
and weve been at war ever since.
