Ten is perfect so October 10, 2010 should be a pretty great day. I haven't found anything significant happening on that day yet except the Commonwealth Games will be happening in Dehli, India. Wait and see I guess. I started a thread so I can keep all my thoughts in one place and so others can provide their insight into what may be a very auspicious day.

but.. what about 10-10-10 in 1910...

and 8-8-8 in 1908.. etc etc.. so on and so forth..

this is not the first time these neat little numbers have come and gone..

we are not the first ones to experience an 8-8-8... next year..
9-9-9... c'mon.. our dates are jsut that.. not a planetary calender that the stars, planets and Gods use to govern their life..
we.. as humans do..

not taking into consideration that some warped jihadist will say..
that will be our date for attack.. allah will be with us om that day..
that would be the only significant thing about OUR calender system..

Or it might just be a normal day. Seeing as you have absolutely zero evidence apart from some matching numbers in a highly arbitrary calendar system, it could go either way.

Reason is a bitch when it doesn't allow you to have flights of fancy every so often, huh?

Seeing as earth did not explode on 6-6-06, and the "rapture" did not occur on 7-7-07, and today the world has yet to end, i'd dobt anything would happen on the next few repetitive days. Though, that being said, i can't help but wonder if anything really will happen in 2012. I suppose because as much hype as there seemed to be about repetitive '06, there's mere for 2012? Anyone have a take on that? I'm sure there must be more likely ideas "out there"- ~other than the end of the world~

Well, 10-10-10 is a perfect binary number. When translated out of binary, it is 42. And, as we all know, 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. (don't believe me? Google "The answer to life, the universe, and everything.") So my thoughts? That is the day when mice will take over the earth.

It is a tireless task to remind my fellow earthlings how cool it looks when you write the date or look at a reciept on one of these special number days. Something DID happen on 6-6-06 and 8-8-08. In all seriousness I think most of us will not see the great mystery unfold but our children and childrens children will on 2112 as prophesized by Rush.

Just looking at 1910. 1+9+1+0 = 11. 11 x 3 = 33. Masons number and Rolling Rock label back if you know what I mean. I am sure the 11 passes on the great dayness to the next century ala. MMX 101010

ones and zeros baby. digital

Isn't it always a normal day? maybe it will be an ubernormal day, remarkable for how weird it was but how normal weird is. I don't have any proof of much but i bet I could buy a calendar and find a November 2010 so the future is the same.

Reason is my ally and mirth my funny friend. Flights of fancy are where the good stuff is found.

6/6/2006,9/9/2009, 10/10/2010, 11/11/2011,

Nothing has happened or will ever happen on these dates for two reasons.

1) You can't simply drop 2000 off of the year and claim it x/x/x because its x/x/20xx using a two digit abbreviation for the real number does not change the number.

2) The calender system is an arbitrary dating system. The Hebrew calender is in the 5000s, and if the Gregorian Calenders month's lengths were divided up differently the dates would have fallen on different days of the week. Had weeks been divided into 5 days we would have had an even 73 weeks a year, instead of 7/52.14
