The question "Why are conservatives demonized?" could just as easily be asked. You did a pretty good job of that in your 'conservatives' thread. That topic was so ignorant it did not deserve a reply.

What did conservatives do to piss liberals off? (conservatives, not Republicans) Demand that people take care of themselves. Demand that money belong to the people who earned it.

What did liberals do to piss off this conservative? Demand that I (and everyone else who works hard) take care of people who refuse to take care of themselves. Demand that the government steal my and others' hard earned money to spend on things we don't agree with. Obviously lots of Republicans do this crap too, so they're not exempt from my rant.

Liberals believe conservatives to be heartless because they don't want government to become a charity. Liberals think conservatives want everyone who can't get a job to die in the street, and that's just rubbish. Conservatives don't want to do away with disability for people who are physically or mentally unable to work; they simply want to make sure that people on disability aren't just too lazy to get a job. Conservatives want to be able to choose to help people themselves rather than have their money stolen and given to whatever group the government sees fit.

Conservatives see that the government is the absolutely least responsible entity with money (Democrat or Republican) and that's why they don't want their money going to its coffers. The government is nothing but self perpetuating waste and conservatives don't want to keep it running for its own sake.

Liberals think that conservatives would stand for a Republican government that stamps on rights and steals money without issue because it's being done by Republicans, and that's just plain incorrect. Conservatives don't want any government running their lives, red or blue. And just so you can't miss where I'm going with this, President Bush is NO conservative. He is the poster child for what conservatives hate just the same as if he were Al Gore. And the same goes for John McCain. He doesn't have a conservative bone in his body and didn't even see the need to pretend he did until election time.

Make sure you realize the difference between conservatives and Republicans.
