The LHC should be fully cooled by the end of July. This will be followed by continued powering tests, consolidation and machine checkout in
preparation for beam. A short sector test is in the process of being planned for the 9/10 August with the feasibility of safely closing the ring still
being carefully examined.
There's still some more on there, i dont think the actual date is properly set, but ive heard they have the go ahead for the 9th, but im not sure if
they are actually going to. But i dont really think they will be any massive explosions or doomsday stuff, i guess it always a possibilty; and just to
get everyone's hopes up, if anything would affect the whole world, it would be the radiation, or Tsunami sized waves
