My health insurance is part of my compensation. Employers offer it because employees want it. I get less pay, so I can have HI.

i was playing with gas...using it to light a fire like a dumbarse...

well it caught my foot on fire lol

burnt the ankle pretty good..but i would have lived...i wasn't going to go to the hospital ect..
my wife made me..women pssshhht

i sit for 45 minute's..tellin my wife i will go home put something on it i will be fine lol

finally i go back to see a doctor.

the doctor tells this nurse to rinse out the burn..i was like ok lol
she goes over to the dang tap turn on water same water i get at my house.
rinse's it out ect...
tells me keep neosporin on it lol..i said see woman i could have done this at home...the hospitals a rip off..

i get the bill in mail a week later...they charged me 500 dollars for that water she got from the tap...it wasnt blessed by a priest..holy water...din't even have special healing power's lol it was tap water.

that's why we cant go to the doctor...

And people that make 7 dollar's a hour in america don't get health carefrom there employer's.
even if they got the option for it...that woudl be anohter 60 dollars removed from there already ..joke of a paycheck..that they can barely pay there bill's with now.
they are the 30% to 35% of america none give a shyt about..till it become's them.

the common man makes 7 dollars a hour. 40 hours a week 7x4=280-80 bucks for tax's=200.....200x4weeks is what? 800 dollars income. now read what it takes to live in america...and i give a low estimate
350 for rent
300 for food
100 for gas for car
150 for water and electric.
80 for diaper's
150 for kids school supllies.

there way there is never a way to save a dime..for the common American worker's...
if a family has a wife father and 2 kids or so.
one has to stay home and watch the kid's...unless she/he finds a way to make money at home..which is kinda hard..they are stuck in a endless rut.

it make's me sick sometimes when i watch tv...all the rich america's..donating money ect...to kid's in another country..when america is falling to apart.
And i don't live in a big city..i live in a very common us city..not even a superwalmart..its 30 miles away lol

i know 3 family's right now...so desperate for help...no light's or running water...barely any food...most case's they are just people down on there luck not dead beat's as every rich person want's you to think.

Sounds like Corporate Facsism to me.

So your boss can tell you to do things that you perhaps might not like doing and you will do them otherwise you could be out on your ear and then will lose your Health Benefits, is that right?

Bloody sound system if you like working as a slave. The UK system was like that once back in the 1800's ..... we abolished slavery.

Jeez, dont you lot have Unions in the US? If so, What the hell are they doing?

Free or Cheap health care is not guaranteed by the Constitution, was not appointed to Congress, and is not a "god given right" that we all like to declare we have......

Money = Good Health care
No Money = Bad Health Care.

Welcome to Capitalism .. Health insurance is 1-300 a month pending where you live.. it's about priorities. Some people choose new rims, designer clothing, porn and beer over their health, and it's no weight on my mind.. I work hard, I get good health care. My counterparts don't. TO bad. I will take those who deserve good health care to have that, then socialized medicine where we all get the same ol' # health care.

This whole issue is being approached the wrong way. I have been in medicine almost 20 yrs. The inflated costs of healthcare are coming mainly from the manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance companies.
Here are just a few examples.
One sterile procedure tray $20-50
One spinal needle $4-$100
One 10ml bottle of xray dye $45
One radiolucent sponge $50
A Cat Scan Xray Tube $60,000 (last about 2-3yrs)
One box of CT film 100shts $200

Now, when a Dr. tries to bill this to an insurance company, the insurance company knows these costs are inflated, so they only reimburse 20% to 40% of the costs. These costs are not inflated by the Dr. They have to pay full price for these products. In order for the Dr.'s to make enough money to stay in business, they add to the cost of the office visits and their fees. It is one vicious circle. Insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies are the bad guys. They lobby our government with their billions of $$ to get what theywant. Individuals are not important, only $$$$$$$.

Check this out, in the 90's, the insurance company Humana denied a 70yr old man a heart surgery, stating that they could help so many children with that money instead of wasting it on an elderly man. That same day, they installed a $500,000.00 statue in their lobby, according to Dr.Peno, a Dr. that worked for the company. I have also been told that insurance companies were established in the beginning to launder money for the mafia, not sure it's true, but it sounds about right. One other story, a child had a high fever, the mother called the nurse line at her insurance company which was required in order for them to pay. Instead of sending the child to the closest ER, she sent them to one 50 miles away because the ins. comp. got a discount at that ER. That child lost both arms and legs.
There's your criminals

One other point, why is it that the government should take care of everyone? Nature doesn't work that way. Survival of the fittest. Take care of ourselves, eat right, less fast food, exercise will in turn make you healthier. There are way too many people on the planet now, can you imagine what it would be like if everyone lived forever?? You think things are bad now!!!

Until we as a country stand up against these companies, nothing will change. If the government has to pay the same inflated prices for products and such, that cost will be passed onto every taxpayer. I don't know about everyone else, but I already pay too much in taxes, I can't afford to pay more.

What are you talking about? If my boss tells me to do something ILLEGAL, I would report him to the authorities. What does that have to do with HI?

It must be awful to live in fear the way do obviously must, by the way you projected that attitude onto me. If I didn't LIKE my job, I would find another one then QUIT! That's the cool thing about freedom....

Not so...all employers make it an option and the employee chooses wheather he wishes to "take advantage" of the offering by applying for it. Thus you "take advantage" of your employer by accepting the welfare offered by him. If that employer had his way, he'd pay you your salary and that would be it. Better for the 'ol "bottom line". Welfare comes in many forms and from many sources. All I'm saying, is if you truely believe all should be responsible for their own health care costs, practice what you preach.

Did you know if poor people didn't go to the hospital for every little bump and bruise health care would be CHEAPER?

And did you know if more people had health insurance, insurance would be cheaper?

why the hell would you go to the hospital for a burn that only needed neosporin? Common sense goes a long way..

he common man makes 7 dollars a hour.

Actually the AVERAGE income in America is around $48,201.00 a year..

en.wikipedia.org...

I can't tell you how many people I have spoken to who make over 60k a year bitch about how they shouldn't have to spend $300 a month on insurance..

Because Americans are fat, lazy, ignorant, and ME ME ME god damnit give me something free!!! .. they expect the magical bureaucracy to take care of them and don't expect to pay a dime for it.

150 for kids school supllies.

a month .. damn .. spoiled kids..

Indeed.. of course I would never say "fu" .. that's not nice..

i get good health care cause i think i am better than everyone .my counterpart's

I planned my budget to take car of home insurance, car insurance, health insurance. Makes me better? Nah .. smarter.. more responsible.. yes..

i use my healthcare as a badge of my wealth.

My health insurance cost me $85 a month for full coverage with a 2k co-pay (don't plan on going to the hospital) .. for the family it is $250 a month with a lower co-pay. I spend more then that a week on booze and entertainment .. badge of my wealth? No .. my house is my "badge" to my wealth ..

and i think id rather see kid's die from no healthcare in america than half to wait in line 30 more minute's for a doctor to stick his finger up my butt..with socialized medicine.

Disease keeps populations in check. If a child can't get healthcare, don't blame me for paying YOUR share of the taxes (those who abuse the healthcare system don't pay federal taxes) blame the ignorant bastards that produced the brat to begin with!

selfish tisk tisk

Selfish because your to retarded to take care of you and your family? Personally, I would be ashamed..

Once again you are misrepresenting how it works. I pay for ALL of my HI. A group plan is less expensive because there are more people putting money in the pot.

I'll bet you believe that businesses pay half of our payroll taxes and that they pay corporate income taxes also. Employees pay government-mandated employer contributions because the employer pays you less to make up the difference. Same with HI. Corporate taxes are paid by the consumer because the cost of those taxes are imbedded into the price of goods and services.

Businesses don't pay for anything out of their pockets. That wouldn't be good business. The good ole bottom line....

Only rich people with money are seeking the health care you talk about. But then you already knew that.

Folks who do not have money to go to the rich man's doctor should still have the opportunity to avail themselves of health care. I would gladly wait two days to see the heart doctor. As it is, I cannot see a doctor. So a two day wait would be AOK by me. Let the rich people go pay for instant health care and us poor people will wait for the socialized medicine doctor because it is much better than no doctor at all.

For some time, I've had great conflicts about the health care here in the US. I have great insurance so to me there has never been a health care crisis.

I have a relative who has never had heath insurance. When he has a health issue, he just goes to the local county hospital, states that he doesn't have insurance and his medical needs have always been provided for by the county for free. So here in California, you can get free health care by just going to the county hospital.

My family has always received great health care but we're insured.

So, the real question should be how do we provide health care to the population here in the US that doesn't have insurance yet still has assets?

I think that the Federal government should consider opening urgent care centers in major metropolitan areas as an experiment. These should provide basic care needs for people who can't afford health insurance. So, these services would include immunizations, prenatal care and basic well patient care. They should also provide urgent care for minor injuries etc

Local emergency rooms should have an upfront charge or $100 minimum to be seen. So if you arn't a true emergency then you would go to the Federal Urgent care facilities and be treated for free.

If you are in this country illegally and you rack up a big medical bill, your country of origin should be billed for any costs that you incur . When you are well, you should be deported. Once again, this would reduce the "health care crisis" funding issues.

People who have insurance would still be able to see the doctor of their choice( if he/she is in their covered medical group) so there basically wouldn't be any change for them.

Existing doctors and medical groups would no longer have to worry about getting money back from the government for Medicaid etc.

Existing emergency rooms would no longer have to be the primary care physicians for the uninsured which would help to keep them open and reduce costs to people who have insurance.

So, my vote is for a two tiered system. One for people with insurance and the other run by the Federal government for the uninsured.

ok then explain this state right here..apparently you to busy with your silver spoon up ya butt to look out the window.

www.workforcekentucky.ky.gov...

ccording to data from the Office of Employment and Training, Kentucky's per capita income continues to lag far behind the national average, despite increasing by nearly 33% from 1997 to 2004. During this span, the state's PCI has risen from $20,855 to $27,709. These numbers placed Kentucky's PCI at 84% of the national average in 2004, which is the closest it has been to the U.S. level in the 35 years that comparable statistics have been collected.

35 year low read it man...not all in america is blessed with daddy's or mommy's wealth.
they are called the workin man ..the forgot one's...that get accused of wanting something for free.
yet they shovel you shyt out of your sewer so your rich butt's don;t get dirty...and they want something for free lol

apparently your 48 thousand a year income for american's need to be researched..your fact's are how do you say..bullshyt as penn and teller say

That's Kentucky mate........ a notoriously poor backward state. Alabama and Arkansas are still worse, don't worry.

(by the way 22k/yr/pc = 44k/yr/hsla)

Considering most people go to the doctor once a year ($150 without insurance 20 with) it's not that expensive. Hospital visits should be restricted to EMERGENCIES. Not when some backward hilljack from Kentucky burns himself playing with gasoline..

That's why socialized medicine is bad.. the ignorant few who abuse with their astounding stupidity ruin it for the rest..

apparently your 48 thousand a year income for american's need to be researched..your fact's are how do you say..bullshyt as penn and teller say

You compare one of the poorest states in the Union with a National level lol.

your rich butt's don;t get dirty

I know your jealous of any man with money but it's really .... really unbecoming..

My wage is not "rich" and even if I made $10 an hr I could still afford my insurance .. maybe if you spent as much time providing for your family instead of burning your feet off acting like a fool, you wouldn't have pent up anger over your own failed life.
