well... i never thought about ufo's much.. I just sort of stumbled into the 10-14 thing..

you have to give them credit in that they are shedding so much light on the topic.

if it doesn't happen- i will feel like i got coal in my stocking.. but, that said, i will be the better for it as i can come back to this site and get your take on it.

all in all.. it's really not such a bad thing.. is it?

With all the newbies that signed up for these threads in support of them its almost like this is a planned 'attack' Its on other forums as well. Between that and all the "Doom and Gloom" threads at most forums, there is almost no point posting anything interesting...

Your not the only productive and valuable member here asking this exact question and feeling somewhat alienated by the 'invasion'.

It would be nice to get an official stance on this from The 3 Amigos. The ATS UFO's & Aliens board is not exactly a fun, informative or engaging place to spend time at the moment.

The only reason I'm staying here is I feel I have a duty as a 'caring' member to not give up and to essentially put up resistance to it.

We can only hope that they (Management) take proactive action in closing the threads down for good post 14/10/08.

I don't agree with the poster. While I've seen no proof of the GFL, I've seen and might possibly know some pretty odd stuff that I can't prove to you because you wouldn't understand it. We base proof so much on physical seeing or credible sources, but yet if we have our own personal experiences and understandings, it just can't be because nobody else kbnows about it, and I can't trust myself.

So if I can't trust myself because I might be crazy, and I can't trust you because the government funded schools taught me to beware of strangers when I was little, I can't trust the government because they lie and withhold information and kill innocent people, and now I can't trust scientists because they're funded by the government and the same rich people who own the government/corporations what do I do? Where can I possibly find proof in this paradoxically paranoid of everything world, then? Who can you really trust to give you the answers?

Even though all I've been taught leads me to believe I might be crazy, I can really only know 100 percent whether something is true or not by experiencing it firsthand.

The point of life in human eyes is to be happy, and if having a belief keeps you happy and hopeful and entertained, there's nothing wrong with it. It's an individual experience just as much as it is a collective one. If someone is intentionally misleading people, let karma deal with it. Don't go begging for more security measures! If people want to believe lies, they are going to do it regardless, and call you a liar for telling them the truth. So let them experience the consequences of believing blindly in lies.

It's called free will. Let it be.

For as much as we rally against censorship and suppression of freedom of this forum, as soon as somebody says something we don't like, we get offended and call for the mods to police us. Police yourselves and don't give those who you don't think are deserving the attention the benefit of a response.

Also... people, people, people... use better judgment on these types of things. I don't expect everyone to believe my claim that there are invisible forces affecting our behavior, but I threw it out there for those who have experienced what I was talking about. If you've never experienced it, don't just hop on board and go "yeah sure that sounds good!" unless you're ready to be disappointed... especially a group that claims to have "special" knowledge and if you join you are somehow better than others.... that's just asking for trouble.

But no I absolutely think that the mods should stop policing because people complain about not liking certain threads. I don't like a lot of closed minded skeptic threads or a lot of hard liner atheist threads, but if they are wrong, that does not mean let's kick them to the curb.

I don't even think the mods should have any power to censor anything here. They should only intervene in extreme cases... and I don't consider some UFO Cult an extreme case. If it's a proven hoax, then okay label it that, but don't remove anyone who still supports it's ability to discuss it. It's meaningful to them. Most of us have better judgment here... I think.
So we will do just fine with Blossom Lovechild or whatever her name is running around and predicting things that don't come true. We're not gunna be injured by things we know aren't true. Would someone who buys into a UFO Cult care about truth too much anyway? Isn't it to escape truth? What is truth or reality? I dunno. Maybe the Galactic Federation of Light exists in a parallel dimension which is interfering with ours, so these people are having real experiences because their brain chemistry is a little skewed which is making their ability to [percieve one dimension at a time a little skewed...

I dunno.... or maybe their frauds, but like I said, common sense and letting the power of just allowing it to exist and reap what it sows are very powerful tools.
