ATS MIX:

AP Show 27

Martin and Justin interview Beverly Harris, who is the founder of black Box Voting dot-org. She’s the person responsible for the HBO documentary, “Hacking Democracy.” ATS member Fred3110 wins this week’s trivia challenge. Martin and Justin showcase a controversial thread started by ATS member Mister.Old.School. Martin is concerned about the political future of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and Justin tells all about the recent seven-count indictment of Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens. How dangerous are electronic voting machines? Why should angry Americans stay home on election day? Tune in, and find out!

Yawn!!

...about 2 minutes tops was used to discuss the legitimacy regarding people abstaining from voting or writing in the name of the person they would rather elect. You guys totally missed the point that several of us made regarding that; MAYBE these two clowns that are running for president don't represent our views. So, Instead you guys just toe the party lines by saying vote for Mcain or Obama if you want to influence where "your country is going to be headed for the next four years" and then denigrate third party candidates as probably unlikely to get elected and so why bother. Absolutely ridiculous!!! What if I see this country headed into the toilet the next 4 years regardless of who is elected, the fascist or the socialist. Should I still ignore my conscious and vote anyway? The lesser of two evils theory....is absolute B.S.

YOU GUYS SOUND SILLY. TRY TO ACTUALLY READ WHAT PEOPLE WRITE ON THE THREADS BEFORE YOU START JIB JABBERING!!

I think the point of the interview was to hear what Bev Harris had to saw about voting machines.

And at least Martin and Justin are prepared like the ATSMIX and BTSMIX guys to give up their free time to add and enhance this site.

What points did they miss? Rather than just complaining Gateway, offer some constructive help.

And what does does "YOU GUYS SOUND SILLY" mean?

We have alienable rights, and they are being stolen from us!

I think this interview you two conducted is mind-shattering and I commend you two for having this 'grandmother' on your show.

I was amazed and troubled by what I heard. We should all be writing our congress-person about this. I mean really, not being able to sue because our votes are being counted in secret?

I am so against the electronic voting.

Great Show!

Thanks Wingz. Justin and I work hard to bring this kind of interview to the show and the points the Bev Harris raised go beyond the US as more and more countries look at electronic voting and/or non manual vote counting.

We need to keep the show under 60 minutes and we had the interview from Bev Harris which was the main feature of show 27.

We would certainly be interested to hear more about your concerns Gateway. Please contact either Justin or me via u2u or email to arrange a time when we can interview you for the show. We want our members part of the show.

Freedom, thanks for the post and Justin and I, just like Dave, Johnny, Doc and Spencer are more thann happy to give of our time to continue tp make ATS and BTS the best discussion board on the net.

Sure thing, Gateway. We'd like to hear from you. As martin says, we've got a hard and fast sixty minute limit. We try to explore the topic from all angles, but we don't always make it in teh time we have. We're getting HUGE numbes of u2u's from this one, and we hope that more of you will post in this show thread, so that others can see what you have to say.

Technical Note: AP Shows 28 and 29 will be slow in coming. Tehre's a lot going on behind the scenes, so pleae bear with us. Martin and I will do our level best to keep the good stuff coming.

re: The trivia question:

Mickey, Minnie and Mighty.

To that, add Eek and Maus if those weren't enough.

But I suspect you're trickier than to expect those answers so I'll digress for a moment:

Um. Is it so much to ask that you guys just talk about politics?

Seriously, you guys don't need a guest segment to justify an AP episode. Talk amongst yourselves. That's the most entertaining part! Let's talk amongst ourselves. What could go wrong?

Whatever. It's all good.

Schedules shmedules. Let's make with the AP chit chat.

Tuning Spork is the winner of this trivia challnege! Good asnwers! Dave or Johnny will be by some time soon with your 500 very fresh points. As for chatting, we'll see what we can do. the u2u traffic has picked up a lot (huge) in recent weeks, and we're doing our best to keep up with it. A lot of you guys (and gals) are making some very interesting requests. Keep those ideas coming.

To quote from the cover of "The Hitch Hikers guide to the Galaxy"

DON'T PANIC!!

AP Shows 28 and 29 will be slow in coming. There's a lot going on behind the scenes, so please bear with us. Justin and I will do our level best to keep the good stuff coming. We have wrapped AP show 28 and this will be going up soon and we are interviewing Alan Hope, leader of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party this evening and there is still time to post your questions at Official Monster Raving Loony Party - Questions for upcoming interview

I am pleased to report that our secret ninja couriers have turned in AP Show 28 to the proper authorities.

There's an intersting side note to AP Show 28. Seems that in the process of getting a certain interview, I managed to get on the "approved list" for media who will have access to the 2008 Republican national convention.

I just wanna say now that I didn't do anything that is techincally illegal here in the United Staes. It's not in my budget to actually GO to the convention, but it makes me feel good to know that The AP Show was considered "acceptable."

Now, if I could only get those darned Democats to talk to me...

Outstanding, Justin.

Ugh! Come on, Amigos. Let's see if there's room in the ATS budget to get Above Politics to St. Paul to grab some wacky exclusive interviews!
