I've used Skype approximately 1/2 dozen times or so, and it was awesome.
I just downloaded the newest version and it doesn't seem to be working.
I have a Mac.
Any thoughts?

did you check that its not being blocked by any firewall?
also try uninstalling and doing a fresh install

works for me sometimes
