have i seen an orb?

it was far too big to be a balloon, as its slightly windy and it would have been blowing back and forth if it was, wasn't a helicopter, it was flying horizontally kind of gliding and then straight up and now its out of sight
it kind of disappeared when a plane got near it and then came back into view
im in the north of england, i guess you can say Yorkshire
skies are really clear right now
it was really white and kind of diamond shape about half the size of a helicopter
can somebody please tell me if its an orb ive seen.
edit: it looked very similar to this, sorry if its not the best example its from another persons picture from another case but it was half ballon half diamon shaped grey/white www.mactonnies.com...

last night i saw a white object way too high to be a helicopter, but definatly not a plane, going backwards and forwards with a single blinking light which was so bright it lit up everything around it

any comments on what ive seen please
