Ok so here is the article. I guess it's not the sites themselves, it's links that are being censored.

www.infowars.com...

Nothing is being censored. It's just that whilst using free wi-fi at St Pancras station some guy called Paul Watson was unable (so he claims) to access some sites.

www.infowars.com...

Of course, he may not realise that internet access is also available in the UK outside of St Pancras Station

(I've heard that for some reason the free service at St Pancras only allows access to a limited range of sites which does not include news sources - perhaps to encourage commuters to buy a newspaper instead? Though I cannot validate that story.)

There are reasons people left britainia way back before the revolutionary war. It exactly things like this. but the scheming aristocrats found devious murderous ways of stealing the country which was set aside for no one at all. Human invention and self delusion on every side makes man assume that where he is is where he owns..when nature examples too us that we as a species are easily movable and destructable.

While cartoons mock and make fun a possible attempt by jolly england and many other nations to attempt control of America, i sadly in my mind must state that its possible they in 1913 found a way to take america for the throne of internationalist deceit. Which persists to this day under different names and such.

Ever hear of a term called..Identity Crisis?

p.s. i read the posts after i wrote this..sry to overreact aristocrats..i forgive your lack of competence for the way you all used to be before money you randomly stole and power you abuse..

Have you read any of the posts in this thread? The story is a lie. Perpetrated by an American

Edit: I see you did afterwards, but still fail to retract your disingenuous comments

everyone sooooo quick to jump on the railroad alex express.

source

Not only that, but even far milder left-leaning commentary websites like thinkprogress.org were on the same blacklist. In fact, every non-mainstream news website was inaccessible.

and

Traveling through St. Pancras in order to board the Eurostar on my way to Switzerland, I had an extra couple of hours that I thought I would fill by checking in on some of my favorite alternative news websites.

taken fromt paul joseph watson's article these quotes explain the gist of the article and at no point does he ever state that the entire country was blocking the sites.

could just be a way to keep down on traffic, or a sort of slippery slope argument could be used to say this is a taste of whats more to come. Keeping in mind that the "slippery slope" argument is somewhat recognized as a fallacy I think in this case is could be rather true.

When I first read the article I had made the mistake of reading it as "st pancras a huge hub to the west" as a major switching station like that one in san fran that the NSA tapped or something like that and this has caused some unwarranted alarmist reactions but nonetheless I think the article is very interesting and worth the read.

How do you know you're seeing the real infowars?

The story is partially true. Working for public relations at BT (British Telecom) in the UK, I can confirm that management at BT Internet are taking the cautious step by phasing in a further list of blocked sites/searches as they put, "edging on the side of those hate speech and conspiracy related". BT Internet have successfully blocked/limited access to certain questionable websites years ago, even backtracking on some after customer complaints. Although I can confirm for roll out in the foreseeable future that they are currently upgrading servers to block routing of certain key word/patterned searches through a filtration system that will to put it bluntly, dilute results from all search engines including it's own, thus block access to designated hate speech led websites including those mentioned such as Prisonplanet, Infowars and all 9/11 "conspiracy" led websites/blogs. AmericasFreePress.com has also been mentioned as unlike the title of the site suggests and that of public perception, it is a website mainly questioning mainstream media and official government/police accounts, and tends air towards the "conspiracy" side, in turn increasing the likelihood of terrorist recruiting and organised mass "flash mob" style protests which have recently been on the increase in the US and as a result taking away valuable police manpower when quelling such illegal events. This trial has been conducted with BT liaising with the British government, Scotland Yard and I beleive the CIA, as they are reporting that "conspiracy based websites" and ease of linkage to blogs/videos/radio programming is citing potential terrorism and being a threat to national security of the public. They simply have the publics' interest at heart after recent terrorist attacks in the US and UK.

it sounds like censorship to me. wether it is to sell papers and if it is only at one station its still censorship.

i think the story is a overreaction though about it being the U.K. goverment. but its still censorship no matter what the reasons are.
hopefully this dos'nt become common place which of course it will if nobody challenges it.

Alex Jones said Myspace blocked his sites too. That was about as true as this one is.

Are you kidding me? They block me from linking my own Myspace blogs into my Myspace profile. Their "MSPLINKS" system is atrocious.

What many people (those lost in obscurity amongst the masses do not realize) is that if even 1/2 of the worst being told by people like Alex Jones is true, it is too late, the damage has been done and the United States Of American and Western Civilization is in for a crash much like the fall of the Roman Empire.

Personally, I have no doubt in my mind that 9-11 was a CIA Black Flag Operation; that the Hi-Jackers were bought, paid for and duped into going through with what was probably identified as a training excersize until the last minutes and may not have even known their planes were electronically targeted for the twin towers; that Chaney was at the heart of it all; that Bush KNEW; that Bin Laden had nothing to do with it; that building 7 is proof of explosives being planted days and weeks before, just as they were for the Twin Towers, that the CIA was behind the assinations of JFK and RFK who were probably some threat to them; that they//the CFR and others within and outside of this Administration intend to crash the dollar in order to force us onto the Amero and the Chipped National ID Card; that they will force everyone to convert their money and if they get that far, Chipping all of us is not far behind; that Operation Garden Plot is for real and FOR YOU igf you cause problems like marching or picketing; that America has been sold off and NAFTA was about turning America is to a nation of Consumers that don't make anything, while making it easy for the wealthy to move their cash and their companies.

So again, if only half of what people like Alex Jones say and have been saying is true; if people like Ron Paul are only half nuts, we are screwed. However, if your life is fine' your job and income are fine, maybe you will die of natural causes in your sleep or maybe get one of the many jobs the government is offerring

I bet they also block access to porn sites and on-line games

Next they'll be expecting you to do some work instead of surfing the net all day!

Please say that was intended to be sarcastic?!!?

Thankfully, regardless what BT and other evil ISP's do there are ways around the way they block sites. I can understand them blocking porn sites etc but i cant imagine them getting away with blocking anything else such as news/conspiracy site as of yet. Thing are not that bad for them to justify that yet.. are they?

Okey dokey. I'm not in the UK so I couldn't check for myself that is why I started this thread.

Well, it seems to me to be a case of leaping before one has looked... and you landed right in it.

The story you refer to relates to the Kings Cross/St. Pancras International Railway Station. The public Wi-Fi system blocks access to the Infowars website.

If you have any gumption about you, you would have checked the story twice, and then a third time to be sure. I don't wish to sound derisory, but I do dislike it when people jump to conclusions.

Further, the company the runs the Wi-Fi services at St. Pancras has suspended their services. I know this because I have contacted them.

How's that for a little investigative research?

If there is one thing I always suggest to people it is that they should read and learn, read and learn, read and learn... and then go out and find out for themselves.

It seems to me that most people are either repeaters, knee-jerkers, or a combination. Repeaters, simply repeat everything they hear/read without ever thinking about what they have heard/read. Knee-jerkers are those that see/hear a little snippet of information and tend to take it out of context and become flustered.

There are very few people in this world, in my opinion, that seem to actually do any real checking before making their own conclusions...

Thankfully though ATS has a higher than usual proportion of the final set of people described... or I think I might have lost the will to live years ago.
