Attackers kill 16 police at Chinese border post

BEIJING - Two men rammed a dump truck into a group of jogging policemen and then tossed grenades into their barracks Monday, killing 16 officers in a restive Chinese province bordering Central Asia, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.

The attack in Xinjiang province came just four days before the start of the Beijing Olympics — an event that has put security forces nationwide on alert and that at least one militant Muslim group has vowed to disrupt.

So now we have one of the first of what I guess will be many attacks during these games...

Does anyone else think that this is a sign, or is this an isolated incident?

well, 5 days remaining - gotta strange feeling with this countdown. Anyway,
I don't think this is an isolated attack.

It's just a part of the attack wave hitting China in the last 4 weeks -

Late last month a group called the Turkestan Islamic Party said it had blown up buses in Shanghai and Yunnan, killing five people.

But China denied that the explosions were acts of terrorism.

Well, maybe they have too - and don't forget, those are reports that we know of - i expect them to be more, since China is doing all that is in it's power to "settle things down" because of the O.G.

Personally, I think this won't be the last headline, a "mayor terrorist event" is very possible. And when this happens the next question will be - "Who has an interest supporting Uighur militant groups" - well it's kinda rhetoric question, isn't it

I feel like if we get past 08/08/08..

we will be fine...
