Possible UFO Sighting On The Ground In New Zealand

I am writing from Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand. Late yesterday my colleague and I were flying around Queenstown sightseeing.

During our flight we came across a large (approximately 5 metres tall) UFO shaped object situated on rural farmland.

To me, this looks like it could very well be a prop, but I have a sneaking suspicion that there's more to this story.

Does anyone know if New Zealand has had any major UFO sighting outbreaks of late? If so, this could be a harbinger of things to come?
