Al-qaeda is after anyone that supports the war on terrorism. On top of that, they don't have the ability to attack us (the USA) that easy anymore.

Edit: Unless it was that other terrorist group they mentioned might have did it.

The aid they bring to the war on terrorism, like when they helped stop the tanker full of weapons and seize it from terrorists. Spains been a trusty ally over the years even if we have dropped nukes on em by accident.

The same reason for the Bali bomings. 2 words: soft target.

I liken it to a mean-spirited bully kid. The bullies don't pick on people they know can kick the crap out of them, so they instead pick on someone who can't. Spain presented a relatively easy target, in the minds of Al-Qaeda leadership. 'Justified' by their support of the US in the war on terror.

In the new video released tonight they stated it was because Spain supported the US therefore it is a target.

Tough to be our friend right now...

spain has become one of the US's lapdogs in this war on "terr-ah". Because Spain has been infamous for having civil disorders caused by internal governments, I have no doubt in my mind that this attack was a covertly done government operation.

the fact that they have gone out of their way to help the US in this fake war helps to support the idea that al-qaeda (a CIA tool for the media) was behind it, BUT, that's the way it was meant to be so as to keep other possible scenarios unlikely.

Why not Spain? Its not as if there needs to be much reason for it.

just thoughts here but:

what if the spanish bombing before their election is a test run to see how the people would vote following an attack?
will they stick with the current office which supports the war on terrorism or will they vote against them?

I am sure officials here are paying close attention to see the final outcome of the elections. It may determine if we get attacked before or after the elections..

In hindsight, I have to agree with WorldWatcher.
The attack on the train seems to have had an effect on the election.
The newly elected leader will not be supporting US forces any longer. If this pre-election terror continues in other, the US may find itself alone. Something the NWO could use to bring the US to its knees.
In a way similar to what happened to the British Empire after the creation of the United States.

Well Spain snet troops to Iraq to help America. They got back at Spain for that, now Spain is pulling 1500 troops out of Iraq.

Unless indeed. No link has been made to ETA, but who knows. What is *really* clear now is they were not linked to Al-Qaeda in any way. All else is FUD and political opportunism.

Spanish government didn't collapse. 83% of the citizens didn't change their vote intentions. Aznar rulement of the country was finished when they supported the US in a not-illegal but also not-legal war against Irak, against the will of 90% of the population, against the will of the UN, but supported in a legal fissure on one of the resolutions.

To day, no proof links the attack with Al-Qaeda, but extremists from Morocco, and the supposed Al-Qaeda tape is from the same source who claimed USA electrical leakages. Credibility: zero.

The terrorist wanted to disrupt our way of life: didn't suceed. Even the international political game to blame Al-Qaeda to gain support in the war against terrorism didn't succeed. Al else is FUD.

The UK is a far more prominent supporter of the US. Indeed, any stance the French take you will find the UK wholeheartedly backing the opposite argument.

So why not attack a British target? If they could get the bombs to Spain, why not take them that bit further over the border into the British controlled territory of Gibralter? That would strike into both Spain (due to the proximity) and the UK over the war on terrorism.

On a differant note..maybe it was the Spanish socialist party who perpetrtaed the bombings to guarantee the elections would go in their favor..I mean it did not take any effort hardly on their part to find almost all the people they believed where involved and they refused the help the US offered. hmm makes ya wonder

I was raised in Spain, I still have family and friends in Spain and the attack "did change the vote of the people."

After the attack i called my family and friends in Spain, an ex-girlfriend of mine was so scared that she told me sobbing and crying she had changed her mind and voted for the socialist party. She asked me how is it possible that there are still such evil people in the world today.

El partido popular used to be a democrat-socialist party. People had private properties, now that they have opted to vote for the socialist party out of fear, things will be changing slowly.

i do agree with worldwatcher in that because of the outcome of that attack, terrorist organizations will probably try the same thing in otehr countries. i hope i am wrong and that we can catch all those terrorists that plan such attacks, but I think they will try one or more major attacks in US soil, if so, probably before the elections.

American mad man, the problem is that there are socialists all over the world and in democracies they tend to fest and grow trying to bring changes using any excuse they can think of.

I am not saying that most people that protest against our current government are socialists, but you can be sure that many of those who fund and organize the so called "pacifist demonstrations" are probably socialists.

IMO there are three kinds of pacifists.

1. Socialists trying to change governments through any means.

2. People that are not content with their lives and will follow anyone that protest against our government.

And

3. There are some people that really think that with open arms and love "everything" can be solved. But these people do not see the reality of our world imo.

really?

try this on for size:
if the U.S, is messed with again, will scream bloody murder, however...this way would prove a much easier exploit, so as to make sure the U.S would end up fighting a lone-soldier battle.

one hopes the troops do not suffer anymore, and new plans are made to leave iraq.

errrrm, yesm they can get at america you blind fool, they just dont want to now do they

Britian is next. You can bet on that.

They wont attack the US, because they have learned Americans go totally hysterically insane when foreigners bomb us, and well probably come off half cocked and start shooting anything that moves.

The brits better really start looking hard. Will the reaction be the same?

Strange, that they bomb not a few days before an election. I think this is the work of Al Quaeda. This is kind of thier response to the backdoor scheming on our half. They are now getting into the manipulation game.

This is gonna be a mess.
