No, but in the real world where I live - many times it is Kill or be killed.
I know who I want on my team.

Fortunately, 95% of people don't live in your "real" world, and we don't make important decisions based on your primeval dictates.

Yes, it is very fortunate for you and the other 95% that there are people like me to protect people like you.
To be clearer I will say it another way - being capable of defending ones self, ones unit or ones country is not something I look down upon.
Let's view it as "Trained to defend" or "Trained to stop further violence".
It would be foolish to totally ignore all of the possibilities when making those "really important decisions" so, I will vote for the "Trained Defender"
Thank you very much.

Lovely, I was thinking what you posted,

You can't protect us from anything, instead you are making things worse. You are being part of the problem, you are not part of the solution, you are functioning as a agent of negativity. You are washing blood away with more blood, you are trowing gasoline on fire and hope that it will put it out. You can't stop violence with more violence. MCcain was defending America???? Did Vietnam attack America? MCcain went over there and filleted those villagers. Is that defending yourself or your country? America went to war with allot of countries, did they ever attack America? Are you still trying to convince me that killing is a good thing. Are you still trying to convince me that making killing your job is a good thing to do? What MCcain did was attack, America went over there, they did not come to America. It was the Vietnamese people who defended their country.

Japan sure did. If nothing else, your logic is flawed on that count. You can have your peace loving ways, that's what people in the military die to protect. Be glad that you're permitted to make that call for yourself, some places you'd be killed and left to rot before you could even cry "It's wrong!"

anyone with common sence knew Obama would be our next pres when Clinton
dropped out.McCain is not a conservetive in fact the way he's campaigning it's hard to say what he is besides as crooked as the rest of our government.

God help us if this clown (Obama)does get elected. you think the economy is bad now wait till he raises everyones taxes. He says he is ok with 4 dollar a gallon gas, he said if everyone would keep their tires properly inflated we wouldnt need to drill for oil offshore. what kind of idiotic statement is that?He wants to take "big oil" profits and give it to the people to help them pay their energy bills. This guy has zero experience running anything other than his mouth and then only from a teleprompter. People in my neck of the woods see him for what he is, a liberal and socialist. And it just aint gonna happen that he gets elected. We will be stuck with the lessor of the two evils, Mcain!

Just a curiosity here... Why would you say that issues aren't important? Apparently they are, lest folks wouldn't go after them.

I was talking about the non-important issues, not the important ones. A thread where people were complaining about Obama's plane's tail comes to mind.

True enough. In fact McCain has crossed to vote with the Democrats on many issues. Especially when it comes to torture, and he had stayed away from christian fundamentals until a couple of years ago. He has had to wear the party hat during this campaign, reversing himself on many issues in order to convince his own party that he is republican.
He's basically the Joe Lieberman version of the republican party.
I always liked and admired McCain up until a couple of years ago. Up until that point he had always shown himself to be his own man. But I am afraid that part of the reason he will lose, is the amount of credibility he has lost over the last year selling out his independent nature to his own party.

OBAMA is a very smart man and has attracted all in what people like,. To hate Bush, WOW, He will no win. SORRY but he keeps changing his mind more than anyone running for office. He will cause his own loss in the election and the US Media will help.

Even though you may be exactly right, using the Berkley Daily Planet as a source would be the same as using Pelosi or Reid as your source.

You must have a dog in the race if you were enticed into posting this as it is clearly an anti-McCain thread and intended to be so.

This is a tough one. I nearly went for Obama, but his associations just trouble me too much. His not keeping his word about using public funds ended my interest in him. It screams volumes about his character.

I think people like me are quite common this go around. We don't have anyone to vote for except to pick whoever we think will do the least damage.

Wow, is that refreshing to hear. A logical conclusion not based on perceived racism, hype or glamour.

It really does speak volumes about his character.

I'm like most others in that I think we want the change Obama speaks of, but is he any different.

I think that this election will be just like the last. If a Swift Boat issue pop's up McCain is in, if not Obama may pull this off. It is probably that simple in fact.

To tell you the truth, I have no experience with that particular newspaper as I live on the East coast. But if you take the time to press on the link, you will see that I quote nothing from that paper. It is just a link to a chart, not an article, available on many sites on how the candidates are trending.
I have a bulldog named Nikita, and no other, and she's not in the race, any race.

and THIS is exactly why he will be able to get many of the democrats to vote for him. He's a republican in name only.
Like many other voters out there - he will get my vote, but he will not get my support.
As far as I am concerned - the democrats have 2 candidates running - McCain is definately the lesser of the two evils.

Good answer

None of the above mirrors the thoughts of many more than the Parties would like.

As I said above McCain is a republican like Lieberman. So you are right McCain is at best centrist, he is not a conservative.
As to your second point, you've twisted yourself into some semantic logic with the whole vote/support thing.
Whereas it is always fun to extrapolate the world from one's own behavior. At the end of the day democrats will vote for Obama not McCain. Just like in the republican party conservatives will vote for McCain even though he's not one of them.

Nobama is his own worst enamy,he gives the bashers something new most everyday.
You know I have noticed that most all the pro obama people have just joined ATS,are you all sitting in one of Move On .orgs sweet shops running these threads, you say the same thing and mostly the same tired people all the time, just curious.
You might take note "dog" the stars are purty heavy for Nobama posters on your pro obama thread. If Nobama even gets the nomination he is not going to be Prez,he cant even brake the 50 mark agenst a tired old man like MaCain.Stardom never lasts, they always fall sooner or later.

I skimmed through, and everybody seems to be talking about something irrelevant. I don't think it matter who wins because we the people will lose (if we don't do anything). And isn't Obama, Bush's seventh cousin?
