Hey SD,
The same thing happened last election when the democrats tried to get the "young" vote out and that motivated more republicans to get out and vote.
Different situation though I think.
Last pres. election you had an incumbent president and the republicans were still holding congress. We didn't yet know the full extent of the sins of this administration, no credit crisis and no $4 gas.
I'm actually starting to notice that the "media" is actually propping up McCain lately just so they have something to talk about the next few moths.

They're not.
But, the media has you believing this, because that's who "they" want to win.
The powers that be are playing you all as suckers to get their way.
I can't wait to see the disappointed looks on your faces come November when he loses, and cannot understand why, since the media led him to believe he had the upper hand (with their help). If the media was pushing John McCain (and honestly, I don't like him either) then everybody would be coming up with reasons to love McCain.
You're all being brainwashed by America's Secret Government, falling right into their hands where they want you.

If Obama comes into power America will sink deeper.
Change for the bad, not the good. Wait and see. And when this happens, I can say, "You're the idiots that voted for him, not me."

If you actually think that one man is gonna change this, you're living in a fantasy.
Every administration sins, whether it be Demo or Repub.
Just because a Republican screwed things up this time around does not mean the next Republican will do the same.
Bush IS NOT McCain. And Obama is not the Savior.
What freaks me out is the media is touting him as the new Messiah, which is what the world does to the Antichrist before he comes into power. Not that Obama is the Antichrist, but it sure is creepy how people are swooning over him like he's gonna set the world straight. Sorry, but that's not gonna happen until the Second Coming

Rock,
I don't know why you are making these points. I agree with you with a lot of the things you say. I have no great expectations from either candidate. But please, for me, try to focus on the OP.
This thread is not about preference it is about inevitability. Maybe I failed to make that clear in the OP.

Uh, I am focusing on your OP. You're saying Obama's gonna win whether we like it or not and I'm saying "NO" I don't think so. I'm reacting to your OP. I'm allowed to disagree and explain why I feel you're wrong.

How about this:

Poor McCain bashers, the humanity!

So as this election gets closer, I see that the daly attacks on Mr. McCain increase accordingly. It's cute in a way, in a very sad and desperate way. Believe it or not I'm not a big McCain guy. If you look at my profile, I rarely engage in these threads anymore. Learned that lesson within a couple of days of joining ATS.
But someone needs to remind you where your mirror lives. Obama supporters, you do realize there's not even the slightest chance in the world that Obama is gonna win this election. It's like Buckwheat against Albert Einstein at this point. McCain is going to win as sure as the sun is gonna rise tomorrow. You can resist either point but you will lose both.

I suspect you are slowly realizing that's the writing's on the wall so you're throwing the kitchen sink at McCain, failing that, I suspect you'll try to scorch the earth on your way out of town. Oddly enough your tactics on ATS and on the rest of the web seem to have hurt Obama more than anything. As for as I can tell threads attacking McCain seem to be more frequent but die an increasingly hasty death.
I also suspect my opinion will do nothing to stop you from resisting the sunrise.
You are planting the seeds of your own cucumber (if you know what I mean).
I'm sure there will soon be a 12 step Obama anonymous program at your local learning annex. Time to Google that.

How clever, you took what I said and changed the words in my OP to make your point. That's dynamite material. Who said copyright infringement isn't funny?
I wonder if a side bet via U2U is within ATS T&C?
However I suspect that you wouldn't risk even 1 of your hard earned dollars to back your own horse.

Hahahaha!!! I think you have summed up well the only thing that is keeping Obama going in a mindless society ~ *a rising star*~

I feel sorry for us too!! Not bc we are ignorant, hateful, and/or hopeless, but bc we will have to ~ at some point ~ choose to, most likely at the expense of our life, stand up to the socialism that is being force fed down our constitutional throats by the Obama camp and his groupies. Bring it on

The secret of gambling is know when to go against the odds. That's how I made a buttload of money on the SuperBowl! McCain is this elections New York Giants.....Bookmakers where wrong on that one...just like they are wrong on Obama.

The latest polls have it as a dead heat....before the conventions Kerry had a huge lead as did Gore before him....even the infamous Michael Dukakis had a lead before the convention. Jimmy Carter once held a 30 pt lead over Ronald Reagan before Reagan trounced him.

McCain will win...not because of anything McCain does....but because people will realize that Lord Obama is a fraud and is dangerous for this country. Yes....there will be riots.

Some people really are willing to bet that Obama will win. However, they need to remember that Obama is walking a fine line. One major snafu on his behalf and the ballgame is over. I am no fan of either but Obama should be trouncing McCain big time. McCain has done everything possible to put Obama in the White House to no avail. There has to be a reason as to why Obama isn't beating McCain hands down. Obama fans should worry about this.

I agree to some degree. One major "snafu" for any candidate in any election is obviously the kiss of death. But consider the election Obama just won in the democrat primaries. He came from way back against a much tougher candidate. So yes, barring the proverbial "snafu" by Obama that McCain supporters so desperately try to seed at ATS and all over the web on a daily basis, IMO the writing's on the wall.
Whether some believe it or not, I don't support either candidate.
The good thing about this particular thread is that we, or at least I, can revisit it after the elections and see what is what.

I don't actually find it "cute", but desperate is a good word. I wish I had learned that same lesson a while ago, but I have now.
I asked myself, what am I doing arguing with ignorant, hateful and hopeless people? What am I trying to prove? And then I felt sorry for them. Trying desperately to tear down a rising star... It's so sad...

Maybe everyone will feel sorry for McCain in the end and give him a sympathy vote.

I'm really surprised that McCain is resorting to personal attacks - I never expected that of him, but I guess you do what ever you can when you're losing.

I don't think anyone has mentioned it, but I've heard allot of racist remarks mostly from older people. They despise a black man running for president and I suspect allot of the personal attackers secretly fall in to that racist camp, but are afraid to admit the truth and look like fools so they make up whatever they can.

Like I've said in the Past - Obama is in control of the Show at this point and as long as he doesn't make any big blunders - he will be our next president.

This is spot on. Obama is increasingly losing voters as they learn what a massive flip-flopping power-seeking fraud he is.

Not to mention, some of the idiotic statements made that make Bush like Einstein.

His latest gaffe was telling people during a recent speech that the off-shore drilling doesn't have to happen if we all inflate our tires and get tune-ups once and awhile. He stated this would make up for the cost in current Gas prices.

Can you believe this? It's on video.

Where do you think Reagan came from?

He was a Hollywood celebrity. Did you like him or hate him?

Why was Clint Eastwood a Mayor in California? Go ahead - Make my day!

What about Arnold Schwarzenegger - how did he become Governor of California? I'll be back.

Celebrities can do both good and bad in government, but it has nothing to do with whether or not they are celebrities, does it? So, what do you really not like about Obama, because calling him not good because he's a celebrity is a cop out - in my opinion, but if you have something valid to add - I'm listening.

I agree with the OP

MCcain has too many strikes against him
1) Oh theres gonna be war many wars
2) bomb bomb bomb Iran
3) flip flop like a fish
4) has no idea about economics
etc.......

Obama in the other hand

same as the above

the difference is
Obama is a silver tongued devil
and can make people believe anything Especially the dumbed down American electorate

I love your writing style, but I have to disagree with you on the Obama is going to win for sure thing. I think he has no chance at all. As November gets closer I see more and more people starting to hate Obama. Not the usual DNC VS GOP thing, but real honest to God pure hate. If Obama somehow pulls off a win you can expect a second Civil War in this country. I have zero doubt about that. TX will not live under the ideas and leadership of Obama. Come back in Nov and tell me how wrong I was.. I see John MCcain with over 290 electoral votes.

They like him because of his rock star status. Last night they aired a story on him on Access Hollywood that was just about him being in love with his wife! The story aired between a story about Hulk Hogan and one about Jessica Alba loosing weight!

I have to disagree with you there. According to a 2006 estimate, 50.2 % of Texas is women, 35.7% is Hispanic. I as a woman am sure that there is no way they will vote for Civil War, Obama is already starting to be more appealing to the Hispanic vote, so no help there, Obama will be President of The United States. McCain's attacks lately have been nasty, he is grasping for straws, up to his *ss in quicksand.
