An evangelical preacher killed his wife several years ago and stuffed her body in a freezer after she caught him abusing their daughter, according to police and court documents.


Anthony Hopkins, 37, was arrested Monday night at the Inspirational Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in Jackson, Alabama, just after he had delivered a sermon to a congregation that included his seven other children, officials said.

He faces charges including murder, rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and incest.

Hopkins was denied bail Thursday when he appeared before Mobile County District Judge George Hardesty. The case is set for arraignment next week, Hardesty's clerk said.

Just because a person calls himself a preacher and has a church congregation does not mean he’s a man of God. Obviously he was not a disciple of Jesus.

He is what a Christian would say is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He is a pretender a fake a man of the devils who was using Christians and the Church to hide who he was.

God has a special place for this man!

I think this has a lot to do with psychology. Humans seem to derive a certain pleasure from doing something they aren't supposed to. In my opinion, if you put yourself in a place to be looked up to as an example and don't have the moral aptitude to handle it, you're asking for trouble. It reminds me of a DARE instructor that would always come to school and tell us not to do drugs. Then later on I found out this man was a big druggie himself.

I hate it when things like this happen...

he need to sit in jail for the rest of his life, my prayer go out to the kids and the wife's family.

Thats very naive and judgmental.
Thats like blaming all catholic priests for the ones who abused children.
The issue here is a people problem, not what the people belong to.

It's one thing to kill your wife, but it's something else to sexually abuse your child. If this guy is found guilty and is put in general population, he's not going to live long. We don't like child molesters much down here, it it seems the hardcores in prison like them even less. But before he dies, some big, REALLY ugly, REALLY mean dude is going to make him his butt-monkey.
These fake preachers make me sick!
