news.sky.com

The recent online poll found that the most believed conspiracy theory is that surrounding extra-terrestrial research at US military base, Area 51.

Participants said they were "suspicious about super-sophisticated aircraft" and many also claim to have seen "footage that former employees have smuggled out."

1,000 Britons took part in the online poll which was conducted by film company 20th Century Fox.

Copied from the picture gallery links for your ease of reading:

1. Some 48% of Britons believe that Area 51 exists to investigate aliens and their spaceships. Are you a believer?

2, A massive 38% think that 9/11 was orchestrated by the US government.

3. And 35% believe that the Apollo landing on the Moon was a hoax.

4. A suspicious 32% are convinced that Diana, Princess of Wales, and Dodi Fayed were murdered.

5. And a perhaps paranoid 25% think the Illuminati and the Masons are trying to take over the world.

6. And would you believe Scientologists rule Hollywood? Well, 17% of those who took part in the survey would.

7. Big Brother is watching - and 7% believe that barcodes are really intended to control people.

8. And 6% are convinced that Microsoft sends messages via Wingdings.

9. Another dark theory: some 5% believe the US government allowed Pearl Harbour to happen.

10. And 3% think the world is run by dinosaur-like reptiles!

11. The poll also revealed that 61% believe in aliens.

12. And 52% think ghosts exist.

Well fellow ATSers i guess we are not alone after all, and we have a few little stats at our disposal now as well. It appears as though the world is beginning to hear our story.

I am rather interested though as to why 20th Century Fox would have conducted this poll, and have conducted it in the UK.
