Israeli Prime Minister Olmert to resign in Sept.

This may be very good or very bad for peace process.

I suspect it will be bad, as he was seen internally as being to easy o terrorists people/nations.

This would tend to imply the next leader may be more "aggressive" on defence issues.

I suspect it will be bad. As much as Olmert is disliked by the Israeli people he is liked by pretty much everybody else. He's weak on defense. BN is strong on defense but everybody knows he won't negotiate and will be highly likely to instigate an attack on the ever increasingly defiant Iran.

Interesting timing on this. War in November is looking more and more likely. Even if BN doesn't win the seat; it could still be bad.

I'd like to hear from someone actually in Israel. That would put a nice perspective on the news.
