looks pretty lame, seems to slightly mimic the appearance the M1 Abram tank (made by the USA. What a beautiful hulking mass of fighting power!)
ANd if you know anything about japanese tech, well, nice computers, but they couldnt make an action figure that would last no longer then 5 seconds
out the box

I must say, 70km/h is fast for a 60 ton metal monster.
Looking at the specs it seems at least up to modern MBT's.

In what way exactly? The two tanks are faster than the T90s but granted the T90 has a larger caliber cannon. I was just wondering on what you base
your one line assertion.

Thye are better amored, more powerful, and more reliable.

The T-90S armament includes one 125mm 2A46M smoothbore gun, stabilised in two axes and fitted with a thermal sleeve. The gun tube can be replaced
without dismantling inside the turret. The gun can fire a variety of ammunition including APDS (Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot), HEAT (High
Explosive Anti-Tank), HE-FRAG (High Explosive Fragmentation) as well as shrapnel projectiles with time fuzes.
The T-90S gun can also fire the 9M119 Refleks (NATO designation AT-11 Sniper) anti-tank guided missile system. The range of the missile is 100m to
4,000m and takes 11.7 sec to reach maximum range. The system is intended to engage tanks fitted with ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour) as well as
low-flying air targets such as helicopters, at a range of up to 5km. The missile system fires either the 9M119 or 9M119M missiles which have
semi-automatic laser beamriding guidance and a hollow charge warhead. Missile weight is 23.4kg. The guns automatic loader will feed both ordnance and
missiles.
Also fitted is a coaxial 7.62mm PKT machine gun and a 12.7mm air defence machine gun. A 5.45mm AKS-74 assault rifle is carried on a storage rack.
SELF-PROTECTION
The T-90 tank is protected by both conventional armour-plating and explosive reactive armour (ERA).
The T-90 is fitted with the Shtora-1 defensive aids suite which is produced by Electronintorg of Russia. This system includes infrared jammer, laser
warning system with four laser warning receivers, grenade discharging system which produces an aerosol screen and a computerised control system.
It is also fitted with NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) protection equipment.

Theoretically or in practice? I dont remember a major Abrams V T90 engagement. And what exactly blows through the Abrams like paper, which shells
that is? And which Abrams shells do little to t90s?

Neither. Why? Because the Abrams did not exist in World War 2. Did you mean to refer to the Sherman?
The better tank is ultimately the Panzer because the T34s just beat them out of sheer numerical advantage.

Agreed. No one wanted to fight the Panthers or the Tiger I tanks.
The kill to loss ratio for the Allies was very high. (even the mighty T-34) The Shermans were no match for the German Armor. (the KR for the Shermans
was 3-1, German advantage)The Allies beat the German armor by making more than tanks than the Germans could defeat. While the Germans could not
replace their own tanks and crews fast enough to compete.

Actually the new russian tanks (like t-90) are made for ATGM defense - for example shtora system, but these advanced antimisile defenses will not help
them when facing western MBTs like Abrams or Challenger. The American tanks are manufactured for TANK VS TANK combat, because of their air
superiority. So Russians have better anti missile defenses but their armor is inferior to the western tanks when firing sabot against it for example.

Im always amazed by these kinds of comments. you sound so sure of your self as if you have a "big book of armor" some where with all the 'facts'
Care to share the source with us?
