This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. T. Mitchell Hastings, 410 Park Avenue, New York
City, this 19th day of January, 1934, in accordance with
request made by those present.

P R E S E N T

R E A D I N G

1. HLC: We seek at this time such information as will be of
value and interest to those present, including T. Mitchell
Hastings, Jr. in the next room, regarding the spiritual,
mental and physical changes which are coming to the earth.
You will tell us what part we may play in meeting and helping
others to understand these changes. At the end of each
fifteen minute period you will pause, until I tell you to
continue, while the recording instrument is being arranged.
You will speak distinctly at a normal rate of speech, and you
will answer the questions which we will ask.

2. EC: Yes; as each of you gathered here have your own
individual development, yet as each seeks to be a channel of
blessings to the fellow man, each attunes self to the Throne
of universal information. And there may be accorded you that
which may be beneficial, not only in thine own experience,
but that which will prove helpful, hopeful, in the
experience of others.

3. Many an one may question you as to the sources, as to the
channel through such information that may be given you at
this time has come. Know it has reached that which is as
high for each of you in your respective development as you
have merited, and do merit; and has accorded and does accord
to the realm of light that which may be aidful and helpful in
thine own experience, and in the experience of those that ye
in your service to thy fellow man may give unto others.

4. Hence, in giving the interpretation, MANY are present;
many of those whose names alone would bring to others awe -
discredit, yet - even a wonderment. For, not only then must
the information be instructive but enlightening; yet it must
also be so given that it may be a PRACTICAL thing in the
experience of thine own self and in the experience of life of
thine fellow man. Not only must it be informative in nature,
but it must also be that which is constructive; though
[pause] that which is informative and that which may be
enlightening and constructive must at times overlap one
another.

5. First, then: There is soon to come into the world a body
[See Par. 6 below]; one of our own number here that to many
has been a representative of a sect, of a thought, of a
philosophy, of a group, yet one beloved of all men in all
places where the universality of God in the earth has been
proclaimed, where the oneness of the Father as God is known
and is consciously magnified in the activities of individuals
that proclaim the acceptable day of the Lord. Hence that one
John, the beloved in the earth - his name shall be John, and
also at the place where he met face to face [Peniel].

6. When, where, is to be this one? In the hearts and minds of
those that have set themselves in that position that they
become a channel through which spiritual, mental and material
things become one in the purpose and desires of that physical
body! [GD's note: Beginning of new age of spiritual
awakening? See 5749-5, Par. 5--7; 281-38, Par. 16.]

7. As to the material changes that are to be as an omen, as a
sign to those that this is shortly to come to pass - as has
been given of old, the sun will be darkened and the earth
shall be broken up in divers places - and THEN shall be
PROCLAIMED - through the spiritual interception in the hearts
and minds and souls of those that have sought His way - that
HIS star has appeared, and will point [pause] the way for
those that enter into the holy of holies in themselves. For,
God the Father, God the Teacher, God the director, in the
minds and hearts of men, must ever be IN those that come
to know Him as first and foremost in the seeking of those
souls; for He is first the GOD to the individual and as He is
exemplified, as He is manifested in the heart and in the acts
of the body, of the individual, He becomes manifested before
men. And those that seek in the latter portion of the year
of our Lord (as ye have counted in and among men) '36, He
[He, Christ Spirit?] will appear. [See 3976-1, Par R2

2/8/32 in re '36 changes.]

8. As to the changes physical again: The earth will be broken
up in the western portion of America. The greater portion of
Japan must go into the sea. The upper portion of Europe will
be changed as in the twinkling of an eye. Land will appear
off the east coast of America. There will be the upheavals
in the Arctic and in the Antarctic that will make for the
eruption of volcanos in the Torrid areas, and there will be
shifting then of the poles - so that where there has been
those of a frigid or the semi-tropical will become the more
tropical, and moss and fern will grow. And these will begin
in those periods in '58 to '98, when these will be proclaimed
as the periods when His light will be seen again in the
clouds.

That may depend upon much that deals with metaphysical as well as what people call actual or in truth! There are those conditions in the activity of individuals, in line of thought and endeavor that will keep many a city or land intact through the application of spiritual laws in their association with individuals. As to times of earth changes, as to seasons, as to places, alone is it given to those who have named the name and who bear the mark of His calling and His election in their bodies. To them it shall be given.


9. As to those things that deal with the mental of the earth,
these shall call upon the mountains to cover many. As ye
have seen those in lowly places raised to those of power in
the political, in the machinery of nations' activities, so
shall ye see those in high places reduced and calling on
the waters of darkness to cover them. And those that in the
inmost recesses of theirselves awaken to the spiritual truths
that are to be given, and those places that have acted in
the capacity of teachers among men, the rottenness of those
that have ministered in places will be brought to light,
and turmoils and strifes shall enter. And, as there is
the wavering of those that would enter as emissaries, as
teachers, from the throne of life, the throne of light, the
throne of immortality, and wage war in the air with those of
darkness, then know ye the Armageddon is at hand. For with
the great numbers of the gathering of the hosts of those
that have hindered and would make for man and his weaknesses
stumblingblocks, they shall wage war with the spirits of
light that come into the earth for this awakening; that have
been and are being called by those of the sons of men into
the service of the living God. For He, as ye have been told,
is not the God of the dead, not the God of those that have
forsaken Him, but those that love His coming, that love His
associations among men - the God of the LIVING, the God of
Life! For, He IS Life.

10. Who shall proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord in him
that has been born in the earth in America? Those from that
land where there has been the regeneration, not only of the
body but the mind and the spirit of men, THEY shall come and
declare that John Peniel is giving to the world the new ORDER
of things. Not that these that have been proclaimed have
been refused, but that they are made PLAIN in the minds of
men, that they may know the truth and the truth, the life,
the light, will make them free.

11. I have declared this, that has been delivered unto me to
give unto you, ye that sit here and that hear and that see a
light breaking in the east, and have heard, have seen thine
weaknesses and thine faultfindings, and know that He will
make thy paths straight if ye will but live that YE KNOW this
day - then may the next step, the next word, be declared unto
thee. For ye in your weakness [pause] have known the way,
through that as ye have made manifest of the SPIRIT of truth
and light that has been proclaimed into this earth, that has
been committed unto the keeping of Him that made of Himself
no estate but who brought into being all that ye see manifest
in the earth, and has declared this message unto thee: "Love
the Lord thy God with all thine heart," and the second is
like unto it, "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Who is thine
neighbor? Him that ye may aid in whatsoever way that he, thy
neighbor, thy brother, has been troubled. Help him to stand
on his own feet. For such may only know the acceptable way.
The weakling, the unsteady, must enter into the crucible and
become as naught, even as He, that they may know the way. I,
Halaliel, have spoken."

" Cayce predicted that the so-called "Battle of Armageddon" described symbolically in the Bible would begin in 1999. Cayce foresaw that this "battle" will not be a war fought on earth. Rather, it will be a spiritual struggle between the "higher forces of light" and "lower forces of darkness" for 1000 years of earth time. The reason for this struggle is to prevent souls from lower afterlife realms from reincarnating to earth. By preventing souls from the lower afterlife realms from reincarnating to earth, only enlightened souls will be permitted to reincarnate. The result will be 1000 years of building a world of peace and enlightenment. After 1000 years, souls from lower afterlife realms will be permitted once again to reincarnate to earth. By this time, the so-called "kingdom of heaven" will have been established on earth."

"In the period, then -- some hundred, some ninety-eight thousand years before the entry of Ram into India -- there lived in this land of Atlantis one Amilius, who had first noted that of the separations of the beings as inhabited that portion of the earth's sphere or plane of those peoples into male and female as separate entities, or individuals. "

Edgar Cayce, the Truth-"Homo sapiens appeared in five different places on earth at the same time, as the five races. This evolved human is what the Bible refers to as "Adam".

Science, partial knowledge- "Science recognises only four or five 'races' of man - Mongoloid, Caucasoid, Negroid and Australoid (I'm sure there's five but I can never remember the fifth)"

He predicted WWII, the deaths of US Presidents, and the turmoil of the 1960s. He prophesied that Israel would become a state 15 years before the event and foretold the Great Depression. Many of his visions seemed to pass unfulfilled, but are now proven accurate. His name is Edgar Cayce, and to many, he's known as the other Nostradamus. Throughout the 1930s and `40s, Cayce was a well-known American figure, reputed for his "healing abilities" as well as his prophecies. Cayce's predictions are documented in the transcriptions of his readings, which he gave until his death in 1945. Join us as we examine his life and prophecies.

A research team has discovered physical evidence that the Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt, may date from 5000 and 7000 BCE and possibly earlier. In response, archaeologists have thrown mud at geologists, historians have been caught in the middle, and the Sphinx, having revealed one secret, challenges us to unravel even greater ones.

"2. Tunnels & Chambers Under The Great Sphinx

(I) In a series of expeditions between 1991 and 1993 led by John Anthony West, and independent Egyptologist, scientific investigators conducted geological and seismic surveys around the Great Sphinx of Egypt. The chief geologist was Dr. Robert Schoch, Professor of Geology at Boston University, and the chief seismologist was Thomas Dobecki from the highly-respected Houston consulting firm, McBride-Ratclif & Associates.

(II) The team's conclusions were as follows:

A. Geology, The pattern of erosion on the Sphinx indicates that it was carved at the end of the last Ice Age, when heavy rains fell in the eastern Sahara - perhaps more than 12,000 years ago. This contrasts starkly with the 'orthodox' Egyptological dating for the Sphinx of around 4,500 years ago.

B. Seismography. The seismic survey indicated the existence of several unexplored tunnels and cavities in the bedrock beneath the Sphinx, including a large rectangular chamber at a depth of some 25 feet beneath the monuments front paws."

" The idea of there being a secret chamber buried somewhere beneath the Sphinx was first popularized by renowned psychic Edgar Cayce in 1932. Cayce believed that this secret chamber contained an ancient Hall of Records, which contained, among other things, manuscripts detailing the history of mankind much further back than we are currently aware - possibly even back to the world before the Flood. He also predicted that the Hall would be discovered sometime around the year 2000.

In recent years, this prophecy may have come true. Scientists using an array of techniques, searching on and around the Sphinx, have discovered one or more large, box-shaped, hollow areas just below the Sphinx. One of these enclosures is located beneath of the paws of the Sphinx, just where Cayce had predicted the Hall of Records would be found. Bauval explains,

The Giza necropolis, it seems, has finally decided to discharge all its secrets at once. For not far from the Great Pyramid, in a shallow enclave to the East, is the Great Sphinx. It, too, may be guarding a treasure-trove under its belly: a "Hall of Records" of a civilization long lost in the mist of time. There, too, with amazing synchronicity, an entrance to such a vault has been known since 1993. Why have these "chambers" not yet been opened? What could be within them? Could the Egyptian authorities know more than they are letting on?"

Florida State University, on behalf of the Schor Expedition, carried out a remote sensing survey around the Sphinx and elsewhere on the plateau for three weeks in April 1996. They claimed to have found "rooms and tunnels" in front of the Sphinx and running from the rear of the Sphinx. Several other projects have made similar claims:

SRI International did an electrical resistivity and acoustical survey in 1977-78.

In 1987 a Japanese team from Waseda University (Tokyo), under the direction of Sakuji Yoshimura carried out an electromagnetic sounding survey of the Khufu Pyramid and Sphinx. They reported evidence of a tunnel oriented north-south under the Sphinx, a water pocket 2.5 to 3 m below surface near the south hind paw, and another cavity near the north hind paw.

In 1991 a team consisting of geologist Robert Schoch (Boston University), Thomas Dobecki, and John Anthony West carried out a survey of the Sphinx using seismic refraction, refraction tomography, and seismic reflection. The investigators interpreted their data to indicate shallower subsurface weathering patterns toward the back and deeper weathering toward the front, which they take to indicate that the back of the Sphinx and its ditch were carved by Khafre later than the front. They interpret their data to likewise indicate subsurface cavities in front of the front left paw, and from the left paw back along the south flank.

We cannot give permission to dig into the natural rock of the Sphinx, or to drill into the Sphinx on the basis of anomalies, especially now that our highest priority is to conserve the Sphinx. Remote sensing programs should anyway be carried out elsewhere to test the techniques, and to demonstrate that it works before it is used to make sensational claims of secret rooms in the Sphinx.

Meanwhile, we struggle in our department to save the Sphinx and many other sites and monuments for future generations. We work hard to organize the site for tourism, so all can enjoy our monuments, and we try to balance tourism with conservation.We cannot allow digging and drilling into the Sphinx on the off-chance that somehow we have missed the only evidence of a lost civilization!"

Cayce envisioned a future where China would be the:
"the cradle of Christianity as applied in the lives of men."

On the surface of it, this prediction appears to completely improbable. This prediction of Cayce's has stumped a lot of people who are not familiar with the Cayce material. Some critics use this prediction to show that Cayce is fallible. The answer to these critics is that, first of all, Cayce has already been shown to be less than 100% in his predictions and there is no reason to believe that a person with Cayce's ability have to be perfect in their predictions. This aside, those who are more knowledgeable about the Cayce material knows that the brand of Christianity that Cayce affirmed to be the highest form of Christianity is not modern or traditional Christianity, but rather Gnostic Christianity. This sect of Christians possessed the secret teachings of Jesus that he did not reveal to the general public.

Gnostic Christianity resembles Buddhism more than it does traditional Christianity because it involves reincarnation, the divine light within, and concepts that can found in near-death experiences.

One of the most respected scholars on the subject of Gnosticism is Elaine Pagels. She noted that the similarities between Gnosticism and Buddhism have prompted some scholars to question their interdependence and to wonder whether "...if the names were changed, the living Buddha appropriately could say what the Gospel of Thomas attributes to the living Jesus." Although intriguing, she rightly maintains that the evidence is inconclusive, since parallel traditions may emerge in different cultures without direct influence. Since the Chinese communist government has stopped its cultural war against religion and democracy and lifted the restriction on the practice of Buddhism, I see no reason to doubt that Chinese Buddhism will one day become the "Cradle of Christianity."

For example, more than eleven years before the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947, Edgar Cayce provided a great deal of information on a Jewish sect called the Essenes. Cayce claimed that in the Essene society men and women lived and worked together. Scholars, however, believed that the Essenes were a monastic society composed exclusively of men. It was not until archaeological excavations occurred after Cayce’s death that his psychic information was verified. Through the use of retrocognition, the Cayce readings provide a wealth of insights into the ancient world.
