It doesn't seem that bad at all, actually...I bet I'd get to have some interesting conversations there.

Which is weird because a few years ago before getting married I took the test and landed in purgatory. Now I am in lust hell.

Not really fair because some of the questions pertain to sex acts and of course married people are going to be doing such things.

I even answered a couple 'iffy' questions as naughty=yes.

I do agree there are a lot of people who claim to be in purgatory.

Plus, I got high 'bad' scores in things like don't believe in religion, or FSM.

Are you complaining that there isn't more competition for your spot?

Well now, Mr Perfect, you can go to a level for prevaricating, too, ya know.

Here's some questions I think even good people have to list:

o Have you ever cheated on a boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse?
Though many have not cheated on a spouse, by the very nature of 'boy/girl friends' you pretty much HAVE to have cheated on them unless you married them.

o Do you donate time or money to charities?
Though many have donated at one time, unless you do so regularly you should answer this as no.

o Have you stolen anything from an employer or friend?
EVERYONE who has ever worked has walked off with at least a pen, post it note, paperclip. Basically if you said no here you've got a bad memory, only worked for yourself, or are independently wealthy.

o Are you good at telling lies?
Note it doesn't say you did tell lies, only are you good at it.

o Do you look at pornography?
Though I don't look at p0rn, I have seen some porn.

o Do you often lose your temper?
Anyone who drives a car has to answer yes to this. If you picked no, you may be a liar.

Even non-swearers say 'OMG'.

Everyone has done this, so it depends on how you pick 'recently'. To say no is to lie.

If you look at the sins themselves they include a LARGE helping of thought crime.

Lust - excessive thoughts or desires of sex. It's not human to not havea lot of thoughts at least during the puberty phase. Even good girls, virgins have thoughts.

Gluttony - this one, usig the Thomas Aquinas view is impossible to avoid:
o Praepropere - eating too soon
o Studiose - eating too daintily (?)

Greed - played bingo in church? Pwned.

Sloth - incl sadness and despair.

Wrath - incl even internal feelings of spite.

Pride - hard to avoid this.

Dude I know about the cardinal sins, but come on now, just because your overweight doesn't mean you have to be gluttonous, I mean for some people it really is just plain genetic, can't blame the person on genetics now can you....I mean in some cases genetic is the main factor to the person gluttonous behavior....so who do you blame?

Well you can say that, but you'd be...wrong.

EVERYONE who was put in a concentration camp in WWII and not fed enough lost weight. No exceptions.

If you are overweight it's because your calorie consumption exceeds your energy requirements.

overfat==gluttony. Period.

HTH.

(Also, you could probably still be considered gluttonous and be thin - over-consumption could have other aspects)

Now, granted the test, itself may be imperfect. But it is what it is. If you are 100% truthful you get a certain result. If you lie (to yourself) you'll get a better result.

Here's a thought. Have someone who knows you well take the test -as you- (the you they know) and then post the results.

OK, here's a test done by the most virtuous person I know.

This person goes out in the dark of night in the rain after working a tough 8 hr day to play music for sick people in the hospital ...for FREE.

This person does, otoh, love the pleasure of living, but would never kill a bug.

I'm just saying standing on the case for some people, I've just seen obesity cases on TV, where the kid's eating disorder was really due to genetics, but those are RARE cases. In most generally overweight cases, I do agree with you, people are obese because of their chosen lifestyle, though it maybe be true that genetics do play a factor, but not as big as I made it out to be lol.

Anyways, Badge01, your probably right, lol, if I was probably bias when I took the test, in most cases, people generally are. Though I'd say it'll take more than one friend to take test for you to truly give you an accurate result.

In your case, you friend sounds like a swell guy, too good of a guy to be taking the test for you, he most likely isn't the guy to give you a bad rating or results.

The test is based on Dante's Divine Comedy,specifically the 1st book,Inferno.It was written in the 14th century,a time when homosexuals could be put to death.The inventors of this test have not put their personal opinions into it,they're just going off the book.And,as i said in the OP,its all for a bit of fun.
