You know, there's more to a presidential candidate than how they honor the Constitution. Social issues are big for me, so I need a liberal candidate. And you know, I actually like gun control and government social programs like welfare and universal health care. A lot of these conspiracy types are anti-government, which means they believe Federal gov't powers should be extremely limited. I don't necessarily agree with that. Maybe I'm just a Communist or Socialist at heart.

I require liberal values, which is why Obama is not the lesser of two evils for me. Nor were Kerry or Gore. Yes, Obama is not much better than McCain when it comes to reigning in the trashing of the Constitution, but there are other issues, believe it or not.

Huh? What else is more important than as a politician voting, to keep and respect the Constitution?

Oh that's right trashing it is more important; like what Bush did when he didn't go to congress to officially declare his War on Iraq. Or when our Democratic representatives in congress passed a SPY Bill. Yeah, who cares what's on some old piece of paper written by old fogies, a couple of hundred years ago.

Yikes. I missed that one before. As far as I'm concerned, the #1 role of any politician in this country is to uphold the Constitution of the United States. If they can't do that, they are not fit for office, IMO.

I expect nothing less than the following from our politicians (and unfortunately, get disappointed by them often):

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

It's really a good thing we aren't supposed to make one line posts because if were allowed to do such a thing I would be able to express my thoughts on obama in one word...but I'll be nice and not say that word. You can all use your imagination on that. Actually, I can think of a lot of words for obama and none of them are very nice or lady-like.

And just think, the shield on the Presidential Seal is to symbolize the President's sworn oath to protect and defend the Constitution.

Obama removed this Shield and replaced with a big 'O' when he forged the Seal earlier this year.

Obama has his own version of the Constitution and it just happens to differ from most everyone else's except those that wrote the old Russian Marxist Constitution that North Korea is still using.

When the hell did it start becoming OK to vote for a whole new system of government in this country? That in essence is spitting on everything our founding fathers fought for.

I am disgusted w/ this social democracy crap that is being blatantly pushed for. AMERICA (in its intent) WAS NOT MEANT FOR PPL LIKE YOU!!! I will keep saying it. Go choose one of the many other socialist gov't around this world and let them take your money and hold you down from your potential and let those of us who are thankful to be given the personal responsibility and who understand the value of what we were given in this country enjoy it.

We're screwed. My kids are screwed. Everything I have worked hard for is screwed.

Well, I guess in ten years I'll check back with all you socialist pushers and see if you are really happy or still complaining.. I am betting on the latter.

US deficit zooming to half-trillion as Bush leaves...

biz.yahoo.com...

Come on Obama!!! YOU CAN DO BETTER...
Well, with all the increase in social outlays Obama is promising like Medicare, Socialized Medicine, Military spending(see war with Iran, & Pakistan), and bloated federal bureaucracies, I'm sure Obama can do better!! Come on Obama lets shoot for 2 trillion, and with a Democratic Congress, hell...I know you can do it!!

We are not voting for a new system of government. We are voting to bring our government back. It's not the liberals or "socialists" who screwed you. It's the oil companies, big corporations and their tool the modern GOP. Liberals haven't been in charge since the 70s, if even then.

So-called conservatives have been in power either through the presidency or the congress since 1980. It is their economic policies, particularly Newt Gingrich's and Phil Gramm's, that have found us in the mess we're in.

I am a liberal. Well, more of a liberal libertarian actually. I love the US Constitution and most liberals do. Both the left-wing and the right-wing blogosphere came together to try and fight against the FISA bill.

We are in for some hard times ahead. You are going to have to decide if you move forward (progress) or not. But the fact of the matter is, we're going to have to do it together or we we won't make it.

Kind of like our founding fathers. Those commies.

That's the problem, though. Those conservatives you mention? They are not really conservatives. A true conservative believes in lower taxes AND small government. We have not had a true economic conservative in power in this country in a very, very long time. Some may have preached it, but very few have practiced it. That's especially true of the Congressional leaders of the 'Republican Revolution' in the 90s. You won't find many rank and file Republicans too enthralled with those people these days.

I will give you that. I used to be a registered republican, until they started screwin up.

To be honest, the republican party serves this country best as the opposition party. They do a lot better checking the pull toward liberalism than they do being in power. At least from what I've seen in my lifetime.
