So I've had a bad feeling about this one for a little while now. I am writing a short story and found this clock while doing some research...
I think it's actually a bit creepy...
www.lhcountdown.com...
So I am going to go out on a limb, and hazard that my last few months of vivid dreaming may be pointing to this event.. (my dreams have all involved
the aggression of "blind" beings, and brainwashed friends... makes sense if you could hear all of the dreams I've been having. This was not
"Aliens", if I am not mistaken))
Not world ending, but definitely a BAD event will occur when this machine begins it's work.
The thing is, I don't think it will happen here on Earth. Maybe it will be a Rip in the sky, a patch of stars removed from our view...
Maybe a trigger sets off objects in the Kaiper Belt...
Who knows, but it will be noticed, and help to fuel this ever growing World frustration...
Call it my first ever prediction, unless my dreams are just that.... dreams.
I realize this may invite criticism, but play nice kiddies...-Jason

I like your prediction of doom. The doom around lately here got stale and then all of a sudden absent.
I am ready for such hammerings. Let the games begin.

There have been plenty of delays with this countdown but hopefully it will kick of soon. I'm curious as to how they lower the temperature so
significantly...what technique is used?

My favorite LHC prediction is that after it gets turned on, it will enable visitors from the future to use it as an anchor for time travel - that is,
we have yet to see time travelers up to this point in history because they can't go to any time before the LHC gets turned on, but they will be able
to after that. Of course, even if time travelers show up all over the place, I'm not sure that we'd find out, I'm pretty certain they'd be kept
under wraps even more so than aliens are/would be (depending on your POV)

I just suggest everyone get acquainted with End Times Prophecy.
The events leading to this time have come perfectly as written, no reason for this man to believe the ones to come will be any less supernatural.

For every ending there is a beginning. Time will move forward until it is no longer observed, but does that mean anything has ended?
I'm not fearful but I do have some concern over this machine. Mainly in it's funding. I hope that it justifies itself in the future and is not
another instrument to be used irresponsibly.
Many years ago I would have been excited about the uncovering of information leading to the Grand Unified Theory, but my observation of the
direction of the scientific community has left me disappointed and I haven't wanted to look at particle physics, much like astronomy, in decades(yeah
I'm aged). I occasionally read a few articles to see if things have changed. Well, this project is ahead of schedule and I'm glad to have it brought
to attention. I predict this will be the biggest scientific event since the begining of the Atomic Age.
"Doomsday", well it can't be ruled out considering the lack of oversight and the runaway emotions attached to this project. I have faith though
that we are not entirely given charge of our own total annihilation and that whatever happens has been set in motion. Our doom will probably be
in the form of some percieved sufferage if that's the case.
This is only an opinion/forecast.

Maybe nothing will happen like all the other recent end of world or world changin prophecies
If that is the case, they can always restart the clock like they usually do

I don't have a feeling of impending doom. I hope something massive doesn't happen...
If so, I'd have to find another avatar

Why should we assume that this large scale particle accelerator will act any differently from other particle accelerators that have been in use since
the 50's?

It's 8/8/08.. LOL not that identical number bs again..
en.wikipedia.org...
theres a nice list of what happens on the 8th..
What really sticks out is..
Roman Catholicism - the feasts of at least 5 saints:
St. Dominic de Guzman, priest, (1170-1221).
St. Cyriacus
St. Largus
St. Smaragdus (and companions)
St. Hormisdas

There has already been a thread on this subject that was started in January, which was recently revived:
www.abovetopsecret.com...'
Doom and gloom. Nothing more.
I will do my part to bring about the downfall of my immediate vicinity, mainly with loud noises and drunken debouchery. I'll be hammered out of my
noggin and covered in paintball bruises, since the 8th is my birthday.

You know, I didn't realize that this was happening on 888!
How weird? Two huge events on the same oddly named day... I guess I will know in 10 or so...

From what I have read it will take at least three months to turn the whole thing on.
The cool part is that my birthday is Aug 9. So midnight Aug 8 is my birthday. Maybe we celebrate not with a bang but with a bursting of the fabric
which is the balloon of reality!
Now that's what I call a blowout!
Seriously we might not see a horror show for years, when they finally get the thing tuned and work up the courage and confidence to try the really
questionable experiments that they don't even have the theoretical understanding to hypothesize yet but learn from the early tests.
Like the splitting of the Muon. (I made that up)
