Why exactly is Senator obama so popular not just in America but all over the world now what is so special about him and why should he even be considered for presidency.

the question im posing is why is he so popular? why do people love him so much? is it because hes a new face and the people want someone different or could it just be hes manipulated everyone into thinking hes the guy for the job.

heres some facts about Barack Obams :
1. He confesses to taking drugs in his youth including coc aine and marijuana.
2.He went on to graduate from Harvard Law School in 1991. He was the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review.
3.Because of his wife's suggestion, Barack quit smoking before his Democratic campaign began.
4.He is the only African-American currently serving in the U.S. Senate. He is also the fifth African American to ever serve in the Senate.
5.Obama has sponsored bills ranging from lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, weapons control, nuclear terrorism, and better veterans care.

Personally i think whether its Bush or mcCaine or Obama in charge of America its going to lead to Americas eventual downfall.

I dont love him, I just think he is better than the other crap candidates you got over there.

He is the best of the worst. He seems honest enough to speak his mind without a script writer for one thing.

lets face it America isnt in a good place right now its hated by half the world and its currently at war now is it a very good idea to have a leader who doesnt believe in wars at all (by the way i dont believe in wars either) and face getting attacked everyday and not doing nothing about it.

or would you rather have someone who who believes in wars, but doesn't like them. Someone who can command the country during a war if need be, but wont just start one for a lame reason.

i dont think Obama is the right man for the job to be honest.

I don't understand. Are these facts supposed to be criticisms, neutral or positive? Because they seem pretty much like... so what?

But to answer your question, I think the reason he's so popular is that he represents something VERY different than what we've had for the past 8 years or so. In fact, I don't think we've seen a comparable president since, oh, about 1960.

He honestly does represent hope to a country who has all but lost hope that America can ever regain the ground it's lost. He represents hope to a world who has, in recent years, come to hate the US for its foreign policy.

Why is he so popular? Change and Hope. Why am I voting for him? Because he's the person running who most closely aligns with my opinions and beliefs about this country and the direction we need to go.

I don't agree with your premise that he is all that popular. I mean he is not over 50% in any poll for President. The only reason why you 'feel' he is popular is because of the media's love fest with him. Other countries may think he is popular because he shares lots of the same socialist ideas as they do.

Isn't it obvious why he is so popular? He is a Black American. In otherwords he is the ultimate underdog. Also he is a Democrat after 8 years or GOP White House. The USA traditionally doesn't stay with any of the parties for very long consecutive terms.

I think there a some facts to add:
* he is more a popstar than a politician
* he does not reveal his real intentions
* he reminds people on jfk (young, handsome democrat)
* people wish for a change after bush, he repesents all the hopes that he hardly can fulfill

He's popular because he offers hope and change unto ye, my children. America is on a spiraling path to destruction and it is upon my return that I will harken unto thee my plan and set the world right. Barack Obama is man just like the rest of you. If you prick him, doest he not bleedeth? You should love him for the man that he is, not hate him for what he is not. Haven't you learned anything from my death and resurrection, my children?

Boy, I hate to disagree with Jesus_Christ but I don't like him for what he is.
And he is a socialist with bad, damaging ideas.

Every election year, there is a candidate who becomes more popular than the other, and that both candidates become more popular than in the last election.

Why?

Because every year that goes by, more and more people become interested in politics, because MSM covers the campaigns in an increasing fashion, more and more, every year.

What you see about Obama in the news today is the MSM playing off of the notion that Obama represents change (and he does, cant dispute it)

So the media see's a good story and runs with it.

He represents going against what we've had to deal with for 7 years.

Conservatives call the last 7 years "bliss"
I call it crap.

But thats just my 2 cents (which used to be a dollar - before Bush came along)

I have to agree with you..Not sure any of the candidates are ever good but McCain at least has experience.

Obama is too left of center for my tastes...get ready to open your wallets if he wins and educate the illegal imigrants etc.

If this were true, we would have 100% voter turn out by now. Since turn out is still relatively low, your point is not valid.

Umm....yes it can be disputed.
He is NOT for change. In fact, he is the quintessential politician.
Besides, his so called changes are not changes for the good.

Conservatives call the last 7 years "bliss"

I don't know any conservatives which as called the last 7 years 'bliss' because Bush is no conservative. He is far from it.

I call it crap.

You are talking about Obama's campaign right?

But thats just my 2 cents (which used to be a dollar - before Bush came along)

You mean before the single digit approval of the democrat congress right? I also put blame on the excessive government spending.

I find it interesting that Obama quits his church now when the minister has been a radical for years...certainly doesnt look good to be associated now he is running for president.

The missus is a bigot, should go over well if she is the first lady.

Too bad Iran's President has the same common sense and compassion - "wipe Israel off the Earth" - "Israel will soon be a stinking corpose" - "Israel and the US are done soon"

I ask ye my child, what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

Remember God so loved the World that He gave me, His only begotten Son. For everyone who exalts thinself will be humbled, and thou whost humbled thyself will be exalted. For we walk by faith, not by sight. Also remember in the world ye will have trouble but take courage for I have conquered the world. Go, be fruitful and multiply!

I think people support him because they are desperate for something new. I don't think he can do any worse than Bush, but I don't think him or McCain are all that different from any politician including Bush. Both are invested in their own interest, not America's, and both distort the truth.
