Bolt action survival rifle...

Lots of folks already have them but for those that don't for around $250.00 you can purchase this big bore, center fire rifle and a crate of ammo which may be more than anyone would shoot in a lifetime but the deal should not be ignored with all the accessories. This lion roars but is easy on the pocket book.

I own one of these in 30.06 that needs to go in and be proof tested, but that ammo in cheap boxes is long gone.

Russian quality and the price is right for some waste corner in the supply room....

They are great for the price. I bought one several months ago, and finally got to shoot it last weekend. I was putting out 3" groups at 100yds with the iron sights. I do have bad eyes though, so adding a scope would help out alot if you wear glass' or need some visual corection. Also, i've found plenty of local shops that carry non corrosive rounds, so stock it high and deep if you don't want to clean the gun alot like you would need to with the mill surp rounds that are availible.
The 7.62X54R rounds will also penetrate through a car(both sides) in one shot, so its excellent for going through "cover".

For under 100$, how can you not want one? Even if it's just for high caliber plinking.

Pretty amazing deal. I might have to get one of these. The price sure is right as you say. I have not fired Polish ammo. Does anyone have any experience with it as far as soot or corrosion is concerned?

As soon as my curio and relic license came through, this is the first firearm I purchased. I bought 3 (for $70 why not?) they have a nice spot on my wall at my fall back "camp" with 4 "spam cans" of ammo.

A few other guys I tend to deal with regarding sit-x also have purchased some of these, for the money and knock down, you really cant go wrong.

Kicks a little, and cracks pretty good, but for a nominal investment a simple and inexpensive way to start to develop a weapons cache.

The ultimate irony if/when the corporate Nazi's decides to crack down on free society in the US is that most will be armed with Russian and Chinese milsurp guns. Who said the Commies never did anything useful?

Here's a useful link about the ol' Ruskie warhorse:

A trigger upgrade and decent scope will put most of those old MN's in between the AR-'s and Remington 700's in terms of long range accuracy. In terms of bringing home the bacon, the 7.62x54R is a much more useful round than the 5.56mm NATO.

Despite the availability of cheap ammo, I'd get a set of reloading dies and at least 200 rounds of boxer-primed brass cases. .311 jacketed bullets are a little hard to find but there are several lead bullet casting molds for the caliber in the 200+ grain category. Those heavy little spears will stay supersonic out 300 yards and you really wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of 200+ grains moving at 1000+ fps . A friend has several hundred round of this ammo loaded with cast lead bullets to about 1600 fps. He can hit a one pound coffee can at 300 yards with those bullets and the gun is pretty darn quiet compared to the full power loads. Sounds like a .22 Hornet.

This one isn't bad if you have to go Nato standard. Planet of the apes looking but all of the good ones are......

Most milsurp is a little sooty. The bulgy and romy stuff isn't too bad. All require the windex down the barrel after shooting corrosive but they did it for the last century and the rifles are still in great shape. Its all in the care.
