Your concept of the oversoul might correspond to the following.
The Japanese concept of the self is three-fold.
There is the boundless self (your oversoul). The boundless self exists beyond the constraints of the physical world. It is the true self. I view
this as a multi-life compiler. It is the you once all of your experiences from all your lives are put together and sorted through.
Then there is the inner self. This is the current you. It is your personality, thoughts, and experiences from your current life.
Then there is the interactional self. This self is divided into 2 parts: the presentational self and the empathetic self. The presentational self is
the parts of you that you present to others in interacting with them. The presentational self is constantly changing depending on who or what you
interact with. One presentational self when you talk to your mom. Another when you talk to your best friend. Another when you are at work. Etc...
The empathetic self the part of you that percieves other presentational selves. It is "your mom" in you. It is "your best friend" in you. It is
how you percieve other people. Kinda brings to light some meaning to the idea that "you give a part of yourself to those you love" concept.
Just a thought.
