Iran: US seeks to keep public in dark -Bans Iranian News

Tehran says Washington seeks to label the country's TV channels as 'terrorist' to ensure that world public opinion is kept in the dark.

Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) said the US has rashly proposed a resolution that would blacklist Iranian satellite networks, Al-Alam and Press TV, since Washington dreads their role in informing the world of global developments.

Ezzatollah Zarghami's remarks come as US House Resolution 1308, introduced June 26, seeks to blacklist several TV channels as 'Specially Designated Global Terrorist' (SDGT) organizations.

I am sure there are some people here at ats that really hate this thread.

Some of are smart enough to know when someone or group is lying to us.

It was down for a month. All links linking to it turned up 404. There has been some advancement and the links seem to be working again.

For how long is the question.

It is good to read the stories from the other side of the coin.

They cant ban the sites from access. They would need to get EVERY DNS provider to block it . This is trying to block there satellite TV stations .
If they did manage to block the sites for you just try a different dns server not provided by your isp. i use
4.2.2.2
4.2.2.1
Free open dns.

It makes me use the https://presstv.ir/

Http secure then gives me this page .
Secure Connection Failed

presstv.ir uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed.
The certificate is only valid for the following names:
ex2k7 , ex2k7.presstv.ir

(Error code: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid)

And says the security is bogus , Signed by the site and from another site. Which is quite weird. Gonna look more into this.
