Here are a couple of quotes from Darwin.

For I am well aware that scarcely a single point is discussed in this volume on which facts cannot be adduced, often apparently leading to conclusions directly opposite to those at which I have arrived. A fair result can be obtained only by fully stating and balancing the facts and arguments on both sides of each question; and this is here impossible.

Charles Darwin,
Origin of Species, Ch. 1, p 1-2

For myself, also, I rejoice profoundly; for, thinking of so many cases of men pursuing an illusion for years, often and often a cold shudder has run through me, and I have asked myself whether I may not have devoted my life to a phantasy

Charles Darwin,
Life and Letters, 1887, Vol. 2, p. 229

"I am quite conscious that my speculations run quite beyond the bounds of true science."

Charles Darwin,
In a letter to Asa Gray, a Harvard professor of biology. Quoted in N.C. Gillespie, 'Charles Darwin and the Problem of Creation' (1979), p. 2 [University of Chicago book]

First, why, if species have descended from other species by fine gradations, do we not everywhere see innumerable transitional forms? Why is not all nature in confusion, instead of the species being, as we see them, well defined?

Charles Darwin,
Origin of Species, Ch. 6, p133

To suppose that the eye with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.

Charles Darwin,
Origin of Species, Ch. 6, p144

If you want more I can dig some more up.

Thank you for taking your time to show me these quotes.

Do you have any websites that discuss this matter?

I think the best way to handle FOTF or any of these other fringe groups that take it upon themselves to push for censorship is to form our own group FOYOFNM -Focus On Your Own Family Not Mine- and whenever these groups take to the streets/internet/email then we have to do the same and let the networks and whoever else may be concerned see which side has more support.

These groups seemingly get their way all the time because there is no organized resistance to them and/or their ideas.

Sadly its democracy working... all these people say "this is bad do away with it" the networks say "who opposes?" and they hear crickets cause there is no-one else speaking out...

just my 2 cents...

I agree. Every culture has its counter culture. The FOTF and other groups like them need more of the people who don't support them to mobilize together and prostest them and their antics. Now I support a few Christian groups who are anti-FOTF and anti-Dobson but their biggest amount of support comes from internet users while FOTF gains supporters in several communities that can rally and have signatures signed in person. Hopefully these other groups will become more wide spread and gain enough volunteers to protest and have petitions signed in person by people. I'd volunteer in a heart beat but I have yet to find such a group in my area.

If you were my daughter I would be so proud of you right now . Youve stood your ground ,argued your points with clarity and demonstrated that rare facility to see through the smog of hypocrisy that makes bigotry so dangerous to a free society .
