You know what, I think it's bloody great he has been straight about who he is, even going so far as to post his picture on here as proof. He has real balls, I can only imagine the stick he's got for this (I don't read the papers anymore or girly magazines as it's mostly a load of bull where celebs are concerned....)I imagine like alot of very famous people, he gets sick of the labels that come with the fame and inside he is just the same bloke he was before he became well known so it must be something of a relief to just "be himself" for once , not have to "hide", and be able to enter into an environment like this where people accept him for who he is, regardless of the fame thing. Why should he go anonymous now ? Bit late for that really ! Let him be who he is , he obviously hasn't got a problem with that so why should anyone else ?

I totally agree. Celebs are people like u and me, so let him do the things he wanna do. He believes in Ufos? Great, enjoy it. He believes in ghosts? Brilliant, so do i. If he doesn't want to go anonymous now, great too. Just treat him like the boy next door, that's my opinion. For celebs its hard enough to be normal, so yeah, let him enjoy the time at ATS. Sorry for my english, I'm a german girl and haven't had spoken / written english for a long time now.

"nom de plume" is only a french expression that means "the name of the writer". [Because several years ago people wrote with a feather (= plume) and some ink]. That's all!

Salutations from the green valleys ! I would offer you a taste of my home cooked glamorganshire sausages which we could eat while gazing upon the sea of golden daffodils on my farm as the lambs danced merrily around our feet. I will confide in you the tribulations of my forefathers who worked in the coal mines whilst we listen to the rousing strains of Sian Jenkins . Oh-oh, the CD is sticking - has Sian choked on her leek pie ?

I was indeed born in Wales , ironically a place where most people ( myself included) can't actually speak welsh and who translate "eisteddfodd" into "a genuinely good reason to stay home and clip your tonenails" . I guess I'm not very Welsh , but then I do have as much Irish and Polish blood in me as Welsh. (Incidentally the only Polish word I know is an expletive that my grandfather was found of shouting whenever he talked about communists and the war....) It's actually Greece that holds my heart....

That said, Tom Jones still has great hips, Sian's voice makes me want to cry and I did enjoy being cast as a dancing wave in my school's musical rendition of "Under Milkwood" many years ago....

Apologies for the off-topic reply, seems like most of the thread is digressing anyway and it's always good to "av u laff luv inni" (cardiff-speak = have a laugh love isn't it)

'Celebrity stargazing' aren't celebs just normal people too, who want to do normal things like the rest of the world, but because there celebs and talking about UFO's they must be taking substances of a bad variety or they are deluded If that's the case then I must also be in the same league as said celebs, either walking around in a haze or insane the only difference being I’m not as brave as some to talk about my experiences
I only wish more celebs would speak up about what they believe in.

I have been following UFO stories and Alien theories since I was knee high to a grass hopper, like most my stories or info gets frowned upon and some like on here are met with interest and healthy debates,
I have seen things that I find hard to believe and always looking for another explanation behind it, but sometimes there is none, and I tend to go along with what my gut, head or heart is telling me.

I mean people laughed when they said that man would one day go into space, walk on the moon, how one day man would build a flying machine, or that England would win the world cup, but it happened so what’s so different to that and UFO’s , the simple fact is fear, fear of the unknown , fear because some people tell stories that maybe are not true, films that are made like war of the words, etc all done to put fear into people, and yes this may all be a little far fetched but at the end of the day it counts as a brain washing technique in my book anyway, did anyone ever stop to think that maybe just maybe that aliens were afraid to make contact with us out of fear as to the harm we could do them.

If I was an alien I know I would stay the hell away from planet earth for sure.
I know what I have seen (spirits included) and I will carry on believing because at the end of the day it makes life that little bit more interesting.

(ok Rant over sorry)

Oh by the way the Carpenters song brilliant, but this song ‘Love calling earth’ by Robbie Williams a beautiful song, sums it up for me, but you can put your own interpretations to it
www.youtube.com...

‘I’m controlled by my fear
All the voices in my head
That I can hear

Please don’t hurt me’

www.youtube.com...

‘we’re knee deep in information,
And they can’t stop this conversation, no’

‘viva life on mars I’m calling,
Sending my frequency to the galaxy
So you can see we’re all down here’

.... and in the '70 there was still so much to explore and to invent ...

there are too many fans entered the forum

I read a few pages back that Chris likes the sense of community, I do wonder if he reads and/or participates on his fansites/communities?

it is know he once did. no idea if he still does. if he wants to he will answer this himself. once there was an official forum and he came into chat there. the site collapsed. plus is wasn´t a very secure site so they had massive problems with fakers. many fans have been victims of fraud, have been sexually harrassed by someone they believed to be rob, have been abused ad lied to. the climax was when someone posted he had died in a car accident.
after this incident the chat got closed, a bit later the official forum got closed as well. a minority ruined a wonderful forum where the huge majority shared fun, joy and laughter.

i understand the regular posters here find the 'fan invasion' annoying but what happens here is nothing compared to how it would have been a few years ago. the few persistant fans will sooner or later disappear again... and it's really not THAT much of them, isn it?
everyone knows how forums work. they are a microcosmos, nothing else. all kinds of people are gathered in a forum, you find unpleasant ones everywhere. if you wanna to be part of a community you have to deal with this aspect as well - it's a part of life.
i don´t think it bothers him if fans are reading here or even post... as long as they are interested in the topic and don´t just pretend to do so and as long as they don´t try to date him. the fans who come here are mostly as 'uneducated' about the paranormal as he is. none of us can discuss matters on a scienfitic scale, we are just believers or eye witnessess and can only speculate or articulate our thoughts. so the topics the 'fans' can write in are very limited.
i understand it's an unusual and maybe uncomfortable situation for the forum sometimes but i guess it's a good idea to relax a bit about going maybe off topic once in a while... this stuff regulates itself.

****(since then its changed)not because of me...but just fate.....
Anyway if you mention something people think about it....

yes this is the way there is something, that twist and turns in their minds and thank you if you are the one that makes some more minds twist and turn you got the power to do so so its great ...if i tell it to my clients it´s nice 3-10 persons are start to think it over ...but if you can do so with "some more ": ) it´s perfect and has nothing to do with to tell them what to do but to make them more open minded it´s great
and it `s high time
there is something going oooooooooooooooooon
and as more people start to listen and watch carefully that better it is

****Does it harm me trying to shine a light on something ....
NO noone harms this but many others to not have the courage to do so
thank you for being this open minded and to show it obviously

****maybe i will when i grow up.....
NO pleeeeeeeeeeease don`t grow up....stay "Peter Pan" ; ) sometimes this is more needed and more helpful

What would be the point of not debating?
Sure some peoples opinions do stick in my craw...
But you have to review them so you can review yourself...
I think that is the point of a debate right?

Its reality tv for a subject i have great affection for......

Even if a thread falls on its face here....you always go away with either
Info you did'nt have or entertainment from a bitchy fight that decends into chaos....

both are enlightening...both very entertaining

You make a lot of good points in this post but I am interested in your thoughts on debate. It is great that they are entertaining and enlightening but once into chaos I find them distracting and no longer a reasonable debate. Especially once it gets too personal. Your thougths perhaps?

Have you ever perused any of your fansites and seen the level some stoop too...I would be frustrated and annoyed if it were me? Being picked apart.
Not sure if it was this post or another, learning to edit them, but you mention a little negativity is ok..how far can one take that and not be mean?

As for a celeb promoting UFO's or what ever. I say go for it, but in my case I take as I would anyones opinion. I have a real problem with celebs that get on their soap boxes ranting about this and that.

Yes it was cheesey and thanks for the flasbacks...some of us remember the 70's all to well. Not being "born '74"

Also curious if you get point deductions for all your one line posts...is that a celeb perk..lol.

No breaks for the newbie though

Off to the political threads..need to get up to speed for this presidential election.....Born and bred USA but know who RW is.

(sorry don't know how to work the smilies)

Imagine for a minute that you are a very famous person who has decided to join a forum that dicusses topics not remotely anything to do with yourself, your field of work or other celebs. You decide to be upfront about who you are as it's novel for once to "just be" instead of lurking around anonymously, which must surely feel rather isolating sometimes.

Every time you sign in, your U2U is flashing. There are probably loads of emails in there some days. If you were not famous and had come on here writing about some UFO experience you'd had, well guaranteed hardly anyone is likely to be U2U'ing you because of what you posted - RW has answered every question put to him about his experience on that other thread - therefore what's left to answer that merits a U2U ?! Most of the U2U's he gets are surely going to be off-topic or waste time asking the same questions already asked him on the other thread. People are going to be writing just to get a buzz out a reply from him more than anything else.

Non-famous people on forums don't get innundated with U2U's do they ? He is just here learning like the rest of us but alot of the people here likely don't approach him like they would everyone else. He shouldn't have to deal with what I'm guessing are ALOT U2U's every week , most of which we'll all realize are being sent because of who he is rather than anything he's got to say coz he's said so much already who needs to ask, and so shouldn't be expected to spend his time trawling through them either.

I think it really does pay sometimes to put oneself in another person's shoes instead of racking up expectations and being judgemental. And whether you like it or not the fact is he exists not only in the world most of us know, but the world most of us DON'T know too.

can't people stop discussing the entity that is his celebrity so much and the "oughts" and "shoulds" of him being here ...?
