that is not the only trouble with education ross!
kids are not taught the truth in any subject and in any country!
know wrong forum - coz it is kind of conspiracy!

and kids are not taught to think by themselves!

no i haven.t heard about the fact you mentioned! quiet well hidden.
so more and more it is neccessary to go into public
to talk about the stuff people are watching, to make people aware THAT it is happening! to get them to think of their own, and then it is not a question of beliving it is a question of knowing!

kids are not even taught to stuck to themselves to belive in themselves!

Glad that I could bring some positive vibes here with linking to '99 red balloons' ... and everyone talking about the lyrics ... the title seems so obvious but the german and the english lyrics inside are a bit different ... even though not in it's intend I guess ... and darlin has summed it up really well (I also see it as some kind of love song, especially the first verse but will not go OT now) ... so in the original german lyrics it's even not mentioned that the ballons are red, just '99 air balloons' ... also the english version is a real free translation of the german one probably more to keep the words adjusted to the rhythm/melody/music surrounding them and not so much the original words n' sentence construction ... *uuufff*

In german it's:
99 Luftballons
/99 (air)'balLoons'
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
/on their way to the horizon
Hielt man fuer UFOs aus dem All
/were pretended to be UFOs from the universe
[or vibes from the U n' I (first) verse ?!? *lol* ]

So it mentions UFO's directly, where as the english lyrics are more subtle ... but in the end I like(d) the song a lot as it still contains the message that sometimes humans do act really weird and naive and do cause a lot of trouble just because of their own way of interpretation and not taking enough time and having the inner peace to contemplate on their actions as they will always strike back thru the universal law of karma ...

What I wanted to bring up with it was also some kind of 'Have a deeper look at the things goin on and people want to make you look at' ... The subject/headline/song might be weird or clear but sometimes you can discover within it things/points of view you never perceived and got in contact before and find yourself on an adventure you might just forshadow were it might lead you ... at least it keeps you busy and safe from boredom and stupidity ... and when it's in an area that is not (field-)proven yet ... like all the UFO, Alien, GOD things for example ... at least again you experience the GOoD re-searcher and fanTast[e?] *lol* in you

PS: Anyone ever seen/heard the John Carpeter Movie "Dark Star"? It has the song "Benson Arizona" in the intro ... lyrics about Stargazing again and also about 'Arizona' ... the title of chrisonabike's song that was involved in his Sightings mentioned in another thread ... Have a look/listen here: www.youtube.com...

i understand you clearly and you might be bang on...
I just noticed that there wasn't much discussion on ufos in the tabloids...
(since then its changed)not because of me...but just fate.....
Anyway if you mention something people think about it....
Im amazed at the ammont of info out there on this stuff,
that people just don't know about.....
Does it harm me trying to shine a light on something that never really used to reach
the gutter rags?
Im not telling people to do anything or asking?im just saying
"#..These folks might be on to something look!''
Im sorry if this is grandiose i just don't see it.....
maybe i will when i grow up.....

So do you personally think by you coming "clean" about your interests here has made a difference? a difference to what people believe,it may have generated more interest in the site but that interest maybe in you and what your upto rather then what this site is actually about.....just a thought.....as it is clear that every topic you post a thread on suddenly becomes very popular

Great song! wow - I never realized what the lyrics could suggest until I've read it right now!...

But I think that these suggestion is only in the english traduction of the song. The same verse in german is...

99 Luftballons
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont
Hielt man fuer UFOs aus dem All
Darum schickte ein General
Eine Fliegerstaffel hinterher
Alarm zu geben, wenn es so war
Dabei war da am Horizont
Nur 99 Luftballons

and for me "99 Luftballons (...) Hielt man fuer UFOs aus dem All" is not as suggestive/evocative as the english lyrics "There's something here from somewhere else"

I almost forgot this song, it's a really great one :-) And yes, you're right White_mouse the english lyrics are different to the germans.

I remember back when I was a serious George Michael fan. If at that time I'd learnt that George had some interest in a "controversial" or "curious" subject area, being the die hard fan that I was, I very likely would have looked into it myself. Fans do stuff like that to feel "closer" to the celebrity they are into. Robbie has millions of fans and if just 1% of those fans decided to begin looking into the UFO/alien phenomena, then that's one hell of a lot of new people getting introduced to the subject area, which has to be a good thing. For those fans coming on here just to see what he's up to lately, well they'll soon get bored of the forum and disappear so no harm done. I'm sure Robbie knows how to use the delete button if his U2U inbox is swamped .
Sure, people visiting ATS who notice the Robbie thread will be curious - it's not often people get to listen to REAL opnions and thoughts and experiences of someone they usually only read about in the media or hear talking on the TV. I myself read through the entire Robbie thread when I got here and I'm not even a die-hard fan (but do like alot of your music robbie !), but I've also spent many hours reading through umpteen other spreads. Any celeb presence is going to be a novelty at first, but that wears off.

You know what, I think it's bloody great he has been straight about who he is, even going so far as to post his picture on here as proof. He has real balls, I can only imagine the stick he's got for this (I don't read the papers anymore or girly magazines as it's mostly a load of bull where celebs are concerned....)I imagine like alot of very famous people, he gets sick of the labels that come with the fame and inside he is just the same bloke he was before he became well known so it must be something of a relief to just "be himself" for once , not have to "hide", and be able to enter into an environment like this where people accept him for who he is, regardless of the fame thing. Why should he go anonymous now ? Bit late for that really ! Let him be who he is , he obviously hasn't got a problem with that so why should anyone else ?

do i think its made a difference?

yes...in my life it has
I think everybody wants to feel some sense of community...
Outing myself this way just introduce's me in one foul swoop(for want of a better expression)
subtlety has never been one of my strong points...; )
i guess i view this as an experiment...thinks to self...lets see what happens if i do this?]
so your answer to the question "has it made a difference?"
yes...my lifes a bit different because of my actions.....
But I do get a real kick out of all of all of this......

I find all aspects of this interesting

Ats.........amazing site full of amazing info...brilliant minds and scholarly research on a
subject thats very often dissmissed as hog wash for mentalist....

Iam that mentalist and i love it!

Then theres the way that people interact with each other here..its fascinating...
All sorts of human life getting together and thrashing out the truth....

you have the combatives, the submissives, the apologists, The mother/father earth types, the loving, the hateful, the unwell (and iam not above your suspisions in this catagory..but then again neither is anybody else here)..

I say that because most people here presume that there opinion about themselves
is cast iron....

IAM RIGHT YOU ARE WRONG kind of thing....

Maybe iam here for egocentric reasons and i have to take a look at that as well...
So thankyou all for every post ..the good the bad the indifferent...If you stop questioning your own motives..you don't have a very firm base to go from...and your helping me to question myself....

As for the ""You don't have to justify your self posts''
Thankyou for those too....but as you can see..this is a site for debate(i know that)
What would be the point of not debating?
Sure some peoples opinions do stick in my craw...
But you have to review them so you can review yourself...
I think that is the point of a debate right?

Its reality tv for a subject i have great affection for......

Even if a thread falls on its face here....you always go away with either
Info you did'nt have or entertainment from a bitchy fight that decends into chaos....

both are enlightening...both very entertaining

i agree with you post.
does it really matter where this thread is going....

geting back to another glitch in this thread
ET was the first ever movie i watched at the drive-in when i was around 5ish i think. Anyhow, i still recall the excitment in me that it was possible for et's to come to earth and i also recal carrying this through my life actually. My parents never told me what or what not to beleive though i think that the youth just have more important things to deal with personally like puberty ectect then to discuss the unknown just yet.
