That is EXACTLY what I want. I want someone who hasn't been tainted/jaded yet by the process.

Yeah, someone who you really don't know as he only voted "present" 120 times in his 3 year term (in contrast to Hillary only voted present 4 times or considerably less). A man who does massive flip-flops on the most major of issues and lies day in and day out claiming ownership to bills and commitees that he had no part of.

No, experience doesn't count for anything. As if we're not seeing Obama's inexperience shine through even now.

Oh, god, don't tell me you already bought into that. It's his bill. He sponsored it. He obviously slipped up and said "committee" when he meant to say "bill." I've made worse slips in my life, and a lot of them were on much more important issues. Please, dude, do some research.

He has no right to go speaking on behalf of America as though American citizens said yes barrack speak on our behalf....in another country.
he is not president. yet..

i call this a outrage!!!!!

at least mcain had right idea...I am not president yet therefore i have no right to make mass speach's around the world..as if he was.

Reagan was a actor and a governor with zero foreign policy experiance an did a good job with the soviets. Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer and a governor and got a middle east peace agreement. Bill Clinton was playboy and a governor and got some things going in the middle east. It seems if you have good people around you giving good advice anything is possible.

Haters ya gotta love em

See, that's just it. These far left Liberal Nimrods don't get that this is called "EgoCentrism". He has let them down several times already and yet they keep putting him on a Pedestal.

The guy hasn't even provided a paper authentic Certificate of Birth to the State Dept. His natural-born citizenship is more than questionable.

It's rediculous

The "haters" are scared. I think Obama supporters like myself are sick of being afraid; with all of the fear mongering Bush spewed forth people are fed up. The fear factor has got to stop.

Got more bad news for you - whether or not Obama is elected, a liberally controlled Congress will continue the fear-mongering through the media so you consistently believe that a Democrat is the only answer to this country's needs.

I don't believe this. Please don't put words in my mouth. I do believe, however that Barack Obama is the answer to this country's needs right now.

So you are basically siding with Phill Gramm on this one? The problems that we are facing are all psychological and we are a nation of "whiners"?

Gotcha.

Now your putting words in my mouth. I know these problems aren't in the minds of people, but I also know the situation isn't as dire as the media would like for you to believe it is.

Take for example - last Friday. Hurrican Dolly approaches Texas and strengthens into a hurricane right before it makes landfall. What does the media come up with? They choose to highlight the question of whether or not the levees will hold in that area. Never had a problem in that part of the country with the levees(I gew up in south Texas), yet the media has to do something to make headlines and scare the bejeezus out of people so they point the finger if something does happen and say - LOOK! LOOK what Bush did to you!

They also tried to tell us that oil refineries might be disrupted. Caused a bit of surge in the oil market.

Dolly comes ashore. No levee breaks. The media has to report no levee breaks. No refinery disruption. Price of oil drops. They actually sound kind of disappointed!

How about the media choosing to publish stories about how America's working class will fall apart if we continue to crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants? Remember all the doom and gloom of the jobs that Americans WON'T do? That's been going on for how long now? And there are how many labor shortages being reported?

The media wanted us to believe we were in a recession far sooner than we actually were.

Don't you see a pattern of sensationalism geared toward the left in the media?

You just swallow everything you're told, don't you? It's depressing to see a forum like this reduced to a vector for propaganda.

I was thinking the same thing about you. Why is it that you support Barack Obama. What are the ISSUES he supports that you believe in?

Everyone is so angry. Can't we just take it down a notch and discuss this with a little less angst?

For one thing, the reforms he's proposing to the healthcare system. His plans for expanding America's domestic and international services (including the
"civilian national security force" the lunatics are braying about), which would provide more jobs for a generation of young adults who severely need them and increase our presence abroad as well. Practically every change which some are calling "socialist." I also find it intriguing how he's trying to incorporate some of the more beneficial aspects of Fascism into our own system--mandatory government service is hardly the spectre his critics seem to be trying to make it, especially given the pay rates I've been quoted... :p

Personally, I see it as no more than a dog and pony show. He picked his spot. His people set up the events to entertain the crowd. Whose to say that some of them people didn't show up for the free beer and music. I am willing to bet that a majority of those there only know that he is Obama and know nothing about what he represents.

Obama is the latest fashion. He is bound to draw a crowd. Like I said he knows how to grab attention. That cannot be denied and he is political savvy to do so. McCain would do the same if he had that talent.

McCain did his tour made his speeches an nobody said a thing.Obama didnt get mad or try to undermine what he said. Now its different.

Precisely. That, in the end, is his real claim to the presidency--he has what it takes to be America's face to the rest of the world. Every other aspect of his abilities is secondary; I half expect the rest of our problems to solve themselves once he puts a decent cabinet in office.

But that's just it ... McCain DOESN'T have talent. He doesn't charm people. He doesn't make decisions that he can stand behind. He doesn't convey an image of Americanism to the rest of the world that helps us create stronger relationships.

McCain is just Four More Years and frankly, those of us that have a pulse with the rest of the world are more than aware of this. I'm sorry if you think that its ok in a time of globally unified markets and cultures that you can remain steadfast within your walls and borders, blissfully watching the world progress past you.

Frankly, I *want* a leader that has broad, global appeal. I *want* a leader that can forge relationships and opportunities that I'm not even aware of exist. I *want* a leader to make me feel like my country won't be left behind, fighting for the last drops of oil while the rest of the developing world creates and shares technologies to usher in a new age of energy independence.

Just realize that we're at a crossroads for a new perspective, and to not make that leap is bordering on cultural suicide. This is our chance, don't be afraid to see the other side of what's comfortable.

I've heard tell he is the second coming of JFK. I guess he spoke English and decided not saying, "I am a jelly roll" in German was more effective.

Sheesh. How many times do I have to edit such a simple thought? I guess Jim Beam in the afternoon does not agree with me.

He changed his goddamned mind. Humans are allowed to do that, regardless of what you're being told. And honestly. Liberal media? Do you have any idea how skewed the American political spectrum is in this country? Your idea of a liberal would be considered a moderate with minimal conservative leanings in any other nation.

Thanks for bringing us some perspective Makoto

My pleasure--what I lack in social skills, I try to make up for by keeping a broad perspective.
