Can any disprove the CNN update

UPDATE: An Obama spokesman tells CNN “it was his bill, not his committee,” referring to the Iran Sanctions Enabling Act that the Illinois senator sponsored and introduced in May 2007. The measure was then referred to the Banking Committee, and passed a vote of 19-2 on July 17.

and the comment

In a meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu Wednesday, Obama told the former Israeli Prime Minister, “I could fall asleep now standing up,” after Netanyahu asked him how his whirlwind trip to the Middle East and Europe is going.

Would mean he'd had Said "My BILL" instead of committee, yes - no

the idea of a lie is that no one finds out.

Why would he lie about something like this, knowing full well anyone of those people could do basic research and see its a lie?
That's a good question Agit, and the only answer I can think of is his monumental arrogance. He has never been called on any of his misspeaks, lies, or contradictory statements before, so why would he concern himself now? He thinks everyone is under his warm and fuzzy spell, and will not bother to question his obvious attempts at deception.

People here attack Obama yet praise mccain..

if i remember correctly, didnt Mccain sing '' bomb bomb bomb iran? ''
I don't like McCain either, but if I have to choose one, it would be McCain. He's a known quantity, and he doesn't carry a lot of undisclosed baggage like Barack.

.. I swear, some people would use an Obama 'fart' as an accusation of him using weapons of mass destruction against innocent lambs...

Its sad that this sort of BS has now become the norm on ATS.
The blade cuts both ways on the criticisms. I think a lot of it is avoidable, but everyone must work at it, not just one side.

Most of the people I know feel the same way- I suggest people will vote him in based on an extreme hatred for Bush and anything that is related to him.
Obamas popularity is directly related to Bush's conduct- just a thought...

In the meantime, Obama is slowly morphing into another Bush, in a series of calculated slow-motion flip-flopping changes in positions toward the Right.

In this week's ongoing AOL Straw Poll, McCain is currently leading Obama by 67%-33% with 107,164 votes cast.

AOL Poll huh?

Ok

This poll shows something entirely different

but thats the problem with polls

they're just polls

not a glimpse of ANYTHING other than "conservatives view AOL more than liberals"

Hey all, I have to say, these areguments sound like Thanksgiving holiday at my house, Rep against Dem, same ole, same ole. BUT, have all we CT'ers forgotten that this is a puppet show run by a few elite? Why do we even bother to argue here. The winner will be picked by those elite, not us. Every single citizen must think out of the box, regarding our govt and it's machinations. We must stop fighting with each other over these petty day by day sound bites. It makes us ridiculous. We must look over these candidate's heads, so to speak, and do what's best for ourselves. Whoever wins won't matter, we know that! We the people at this point in time, do not rule the country. But, when we all come to some very big realizations and start actually thinking and working together we may again, rule our own country and govt. Just a long time lurker's opinion. Oh, just wanted to someday mention, that on one of those holidays at my house, my mother in law told me that 20 years ago a friend of here's, who was a lobbiest, said the most bizarre thing to here. He said "You know, the whole country is run by a few elite". He was very serious.

In my humble opinion, those who are vehemently against the Obama campaign are grasping at straws.

I am no supporter of his. I agree on many points that he is not who we are being told he is, and his 'differences' are a matter of cosmetic word-crafting and image engineering.

But the truth is, when delivering speeches one is often thinking well 'ahead' of the words coming out of one's mouth. There are many rationales that can explain his 'faux pas' but you know, if they were conscious contrivances he surely would have to know that he would be called on it. While I often marvel at the obtuse idiocy of the political game, I can't believe he would be so completely clueless as to think no one would make the connection.

But in the end, this is a partisan issue, mostly argued by those who still maintain that the choices are real and the leaders offered up by the parties are somehow not going to take the path charted for them by the corporate-political machinery.

You folks can support whoever you like, that is the utmost limit of our political freedom. Rest assured, however, that if you are reading this, you will have been told, this is political shadow puppetry, and a true confidence game. I can't imagine how, after the last couple of decades of political history, you haven't seen this to be true.

But it's not 4 YEARS of experience. He served an astoudning 143 days of active duty in the Senate before he began campaigning. 143 DAYS!

And he won't tell anyone what his "new ideas" are, all he says is "Change! Change! Change!"

Well, if the Country suddenly became a Socialist County, that would be change, but would that make it a good thing simply for the sake of change?

OK I am curious, what exactly did Obama stand to gain by lying about being a member of this committee to the Israelis?

My guess is not much.

In fact when one knows he introduced the bill bill he is talking about and listens to the very short Youtube clip it looks more like a misstatement than a "bold faced lie".

More slander of no substance I guess.

Also who was it that said there is a list of 64 Obama lies, can you post a link to them please?

Ahhh yes, and there we have it. Another "simple slip of the tongue".

That Kool-aid sure is powerful stuff.

Yeah, that same guy was going after McCain for the "Iraq boarder" comment.

Sen. Obama spent 143 days in office as a Senator before starting his campaign for President. Of the time he has been in office, his voting record is abysmal. He has not stood for anything. He has voted "present" 73% of the time.

Following that logic, I am at least as qualified ( probably moreso as I have been absent from work 4 days in 4 years) to be President. Which, co-incidentally, is my goal for 2012.

Personally I believe it is the ones with "experience" which are causing the problems.

We need new vision, a "Beginners Mind" approach to solving the issues that plague us. And more importantly, we need someone is who more focused on the benefits than on the costs.

Yep, we need a Liberal.

It's just hilarious that there is obviously nothing of any real substance which can be leveled against Obama, so the right wing blogs and their surrogates have to resort to campaign bloopers for their political attacks

You're kidding, right? Nothing of real substance? You must have the memory span of a goldfish.

* Association with one William Ayers
* Saying he wouldn't take contributions from oil companies and turns around does just that
* 20+ years attending church pastored by a hate monger name Rev. Jeremiah Wright, not to mention making Wright his spiritual advisor
* Bittergate
* Waffling on the FISA bill
* Twisting the facts on the troop surge instead of admitting he was wrong

I'm sure there's plenty more to be dug up on this liar of a man.

Hey, genius, you've got a majority of "liberals" in Congress right now with arguably the lowest approval rating in Congressional history.

What good do you think adding one more liberal to the pot will make? Are you really that short-sighted?

The only thing Obama brings fresh and new to the position of POTUS is a different hue of skin color. Aside from that, he's just another politician with a stack of lies for a vision that he sells to simple-minded people like yourself.

Big deal.
So he got in, realized he could make some changes, and ran with it.

I really do not care. Being a senator is not a requirement for POTUS, and quite frankly, i think the less experience you have as a senator the better.

Same thing woudl apply if Hillary was running against mcCain

"oh, she has less experience"

So what?
what is the "magical number" you would associate with "enough experience"??

My guess is - however many years McCain has.

Nice methodology. Try to be less obvious next time

Experience in what? Lying?
Thats what senators do best.

Atleast he was there to vote

McCain hasnt even showed up to 61% of the votes

im curious, arent senators supposed to be paid for....um....voting?

Your argument is about as weak and frail as McCain himself.

The "vote present" thing has already been revealed, a hundred times, in this very forum.

oh, and, ill take someone who does their job by "voting" no matter what over someone who doesnt even bother to show up at all.

Whats next? McCain becomes president and spends all of his time at home, leaving his duties to the VP?

Dbates, when you write:

Obama the pathological liar. (Head of the Senate Banking Committee)

Are you saying the head of the Senate Banking Committee said this?

-OR-

Are you saying Obama said he was the "head of the Senate Banking Committee"?

In either case I would LOVE to see the link to your source as you well know as a moderator is a standard practice here on ATS.

Also I would once again like to ask you, what did Obama stand to gain by making such a lie to a group is Israelis?

Thanks

Obama is such a fake. It's very transparent.
I will concede that he is articulate when reading from a prepared speech, however he is not the brightest bulb in the package when thinking on the fly.

Boy, it just continues......

Here is another recent "slip of the tongue".

He stated as President he would fight the terrorists for the next 8 to 10 years......WHAT????........8-10 years???
The last time I looked at my Constitution he can only serve for a maximum of 8 years.

Here is the video. Skip to 8:00 into the interview to get to the part in question.
