The Peace of God to all that belong to the light,
Dear readers,
Thanks to all of your so interesting posts that contribute a lot to enrich this discussion of Jose Silva and his legacy.
I am agreed with the opinion that Jose Silva was not the only one that worked seriously and so hard in the beginning of this area, but he was one
of the few that could achieve a so impressive advance working practically independent all the time.
Moreover, Jose started so soon to focus his interest in the practical aspects, looking for possible applications of this science and particulary in
the area of health improving, enhancing of the memory, fast learning and in his last years also in business management.
In that sense we could say that before Jose Silva of course there was Parapsychology in many points of the world, but after him we must talk about
Parapsychotechnology, a new stage in the human cultural evolution.
I think, in my personal opinion as a Scientist, Engineer and a Psychic, that Silva had the advantage over other researchers that he was a Technician
so his methods were more technological and less scientific than the ones applied by others, that gave him a so practical approach since the begining.
The name of Jose Silva will be remembered in the future together with some other few like:
Alfonso Caycedo(Spain-Columbia) MeD., founder of the Sophrology
Dr. Georgi Lozanov(Bulgaria), founder of the Suggestopedia
Semyon Kirlian and Valentina Khrisanovna Kirliana (Russia)developers of the kirlian photography
Dr. K. I. Platonov, (Russia) a psychologist, pioneer researcher in telepathic communication
Max Dessoir, the German philosopher that coined the term parapsychology in 1889.
Joseph Banks Rhine, (USA) founder of the Parapsychology lab at Duke University.
Elmer R. Gates, (USA), scientist & inventor
Prof. A. V. Dzelichovsky, Physicist & K. D. Kotkov, psychologist, pioneers in telepathic communication laboratories in Russia.
Leonid Vasiliev(Russia), Physiologist, telepathic communication researcher at University of St Petersburg.
I. F. Tomashevsky, a physiologist, and Dr. A. V. Doubrovsky, psychiatrist (Russia); researchers in mental suggestion and telepathy at
the famous Bekhterev Brain Institute.
Joseph Murphy, (USA)PhD & RScD, author of the New Thought movement, Philosopher of the Laws of the mind.
Harold Sherman(USA), author, leader of the extrasensorial perception foundation & famous Telepath.
Napoleon Hill(USA), Author, pioneer of the Personal success genre.
Jose Vicente Sandino(Columbia) MeD., pioneer in medical hypnosis and Sophrologist.
Pierre Janet, psychologist and one of the fathers of French parapsychology
Julius Ochorovicz, still remembered as Poland's most famous psychic researcher
England's Frederic Myers, cofounder of the British Society for Psychical Research;
Dan Custer(USA), Author, a leader in the Science of Mind movement
All of them as the pillars of a new scientific revolution happened along the last 120 years that will be named the Parapsychological great Jump.
All these persons worked so hard researching but also spreading their knowledge among the Scientific community and profane circles in order to surpass
the ignorance prejudges with respect to this important field and creating a Science with the subject that traditionally was clustered only in the
esoteric circles, mysticism, the alchemy and secret meta physical secret societies for centuries either in the Europe, middle East and Far east.
Here there is more about the beginning of Jose Silva and how he was discovered by the Scientist community, this taken form his own website:
The first scientist who came to Laredo, Texas, to investigate the research that Silva was doing was Dr. J.W. Hahn, director of the Mind Science
Foundation in San Antonio, Texas. Through Dr. Hahn, many more scientists became interested in the pioneering research into the mind and human
potential. Mind Science Foundation was founded by oil millionaire Tom Slick Sr. It was Mr. Slick who asked Dr. Hahn to check out Silva’s work. He
took back a very favorable report.
After Dr. Hahn’s visit to Laredo, he called Dr. N.E. West, the head of the Department of Psychology at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview,
Texas, and arranged for him to visit Laredo and inspect Silva’s findings. Dr. West was impressed. Even though he had visited the laboratories of Dr.
J.B. Rhine at Duke University on two occasions, he said that he had never seen so much valid scientific work done on ESP.
