Nice find Truthwithin!

I doubt this will get even half the coverage the New Yorker got. McCain is old news, thats not to say he has no chance, personally I think Obama and McCain are 50/50 considering many factors in this race. Although I hope Obama wins, I dont want Bush getting away under the protection of a McCain presidency.

Hate to rain on your parade but you Obama supporters seem to have such short memory spans.

The burning Constitution should also be in the New Yorker cartoon, but I suspect the image of the burning flag was meant to cover not only the constitution but all aspects of American life that Obama tends to do away with.

* Obama voted for FISA.

An undeniable, yes UNDENIABLE fact that you all are forced to dismiss. You all put on blinders to not see because you're backed into a corner when it comes to this election and this candidate. Fact is, no matter what bad things Obama does or says, you will HAVE to cast your vote for him because you are so dead-set against seeing another republican in office this time around.

Obama could beat his wife, abuse his children, use the N-word liberally, laugh at the Holocaust and all of you Obamatrons would still have no choice but to cast your ballot for him because you've been brainwashed by the liberal media into thinking that the next Republican, no matter who he or she is, will be carry on the "EVILS OF GEORGE W BUSH!!!!"

I'm not sure what's more pathetic when you look at it that way - the fact that you can't think for yourselves without being spoonfed material from the media or the fact that you would vote for another evil man just to be defiant.

The point raised by the FISA vote is a legitimate one, and the lame excuse of trying to 'bridge the political divide' as his reason for changing the stance he campaigned on is disingenuous at best, since it seems that the voters of the right-wing did not want that law to pass either.

IMO, he took the opportunity to indicate to 'big business' that he would play ball. It was a great disappointment, but also an opportunity for Obama supporters to get their heads around the idea that he may not be agent of change disuguised as a politician, but a politician disguised as an agent of change.

Having said that, do you really want McCain and his completely contradicatry, opaque policy positions to guide this country for the next four years? Do you even understand them? If so, please share them with the world -- and his campiagn -- because you're the only one. Do you still support the Bush Admin and what they have 'accomplished'? Are you and your family better off than you were when the last Democrat left office seven years ago?

I think it is important to look at ourselves when we start going around accusing everyone of blindly taking positions. You seem to have a pretty strong anti-Obama one, so I would like to politely and sincerely ask you what and who are you standing for and why?

Oh please! The FISA decision was a first class Waffle and that explanation was a convenient way for him to point to himself as the 'great healer'.

Glad you asked! I don't blindly take a position, thank you very much. I do happen to support the Republican party and will be voting for John McCain for a variety of reasons:

* Cap and trade - bad idea that will allow big corporations to buy exemtpions from smaller companies and continue to pollute the environment
* Supports construction of more nuclear and clean coal power plants in this country. Given the energy grid problems we saw during this last decade, especially California with the prospect of rolling blackouts, the country needs more energy generation. This will also create jobs. Obama opposes nuclear power.
* Supports drilling. Sure, we need to get off our dependence on foreign oil, and drilling and refining our own is a way to do this, right? Doesn't this seem like a far more feasible alternative than spending hundreds of billions on some renewable energy technology that doesn't exist yet, then re-outfitting a bunch of vehicles that aren't formatted to use this technology? What about other techs that need oil such as generation of electricity? Wind power is good, but it isn't going to power your car. We need to drill our own oil NOW and stabilize the gas price crunch in the next decade before we concentrate funding renewable sources of energy.
* Obama is pro-choice. I'm one of those rare Republicans that also believes in pro-choice, but only up to a certain timeframe. When a pregnancy has progressed far enough that it becomes partial-birth abortion, I'm out. If there's a chance the fetus can be delivered and will live, then ending the life is clearly murder. Obama supports partial birth abortions. To me this is support for murder of children.
* Universal health care? OMG, this isn't the answer and it will WRECK the nation's health care system! You watch, if this is implemented the first signs of trouble will be with Primary Care Physicians and PPOs start opting out of the programs and go strictly private because the Fed will renegotiate their compensation based on federal guidelines.
* Obama is a socialist and a marxist.

Geez there is so much more. Being a Republican, however, I have the luxury of watching Obama win over sheep by the herd and win the election this year. And four years later after the country is totally screwed all to hell (if we are even alive), THEN maybe people will wise up and bring in someone who really does have the nation's best interests in mind. Not a false prophet like Barack Hussein Obama.

HAHAH! I almost fell off of my chair laughing.

What you are describing is exactly what happened during the Bush Elections. He won over sheep by the flock as you said above.

But what you don't seem to understand, is that now, after Bush's terms are over, the country IS screwed all to hell!, (as you put it above)

So what you are saying, already happened, but it happened with Bush. Now I am one to believe that it is always darkest right before the dawn.

And I believe that when Obama is elected, our brightest morning ever will begin. Not just for America, but for the entire World.

Yeah, that's what you think.

You think that way because you believe what you're being told in the media. Some of us don't buy the liberal media's force-fed pudding.

I'll check back with you in four years, provided we're all still here and I'll be reading how you're cursing the day you voted for Obama. That much I'm 100% sure of.

Yep, I guess I do. It's called looking at how the Senator votes and watching what he does and says during his campaign to get elected. You might call it precognition, but I call it paying attention - something you might try doing for once.

I'd say that's a good indicator of how he will "best" run office. Kind of like dating right? Guys put on their best performance usually to woo the other side. Obama is doing his best song and dance right now to get elected and he's making a lot of blunders and showing his true, anti-American colors with his speeches and his actions. Just imagine how much worse it's going to get if het gets in office and makes himself comfortable.

Photoshopped.

1. The photo has no EXIF data.
2. The pixelization on the wrist bands match almost precisely

Here's a web-based EXIF data viewer to check this out yourself:

By the way - someone asked me why I oppose Obama based on the issues and I was more than happy to post my reasons a few posts up, in this very thread.

How about you? What besides "He's black" and "He's for change" are the reasons why you're voting for Obama? Because if that's the basis of your vote then you have no business criticizing me on my political views.

Vanity Fairs seems to be a marketing campaign. They know this will cause controversy and they will make more money.

The NewYorker wasn't thinking about making money when they ran the Obama cover?

Edit - I figured out what he meant, removed question.

I appreciate you outlining your issues with Obama, but you don't seem to have your facts entirely clear.

Obama and McCain both support Cap and Trade.

You and have similiar ideas about abortion..Both Pro-Choice, but concerned about late term abortions.
Barak says it is OK for the states to restrict late term abortions.

Nuclear Power? He isn't opposed as long as we know how to store the waste properly. Until we figure that out and stop stomping on states rights (Yucca Mountain Nevada) Then we shouldn't be messing with it. His position allows for Nuclear Power, just not at the expense of states rights or future generations who would have to clean up the mess. He actually THINKS about these issues so his positions are sometimes nuanced. It's refreshing to have someone answer questions as if we are adults.

I don't know what to say about the Marxist/Socialist Statement. Since it is just mudslinging I don't think it deserves a response.
