Maybe my receollection has faded over the years, I thought both birds were at WMF for a short while. The one picture of the gray ghost bird with the engine on mattresses certainly looks like the "hangar/quonset hut at WMF though. I haven't driven past there in months but since the WMF has moved to the Torrance airport, maybe I can ask them where the picture was taken. I live 5 minutes from the Torrance airport.

Wow Awesome thanks Spyhawk!
Star for that post I say!

I'll add this information into the timeline that I've started after razerzeke goes on his trip down to NG to see what he can see and try and get a shot of PAV2 801.

So the expand on the information of the past couple days its seems to me that more and more of the timeline is getting filled in and that leaves less time for the rumored testing etc. Now I won't completely rule it out at this point due to the fact we don't have confirmation of 800 arrival at WPAFB in 2000 after the C-5 pick up. What I will do is send another email to the Research dept. at WP and try and get a proper answer this time as to when the actual airframe arrived.

*email sent hope I can get an answer before the weekend.

I just saw the PAV802, gray ghost at the NG facility on July 29th. Wings are attached, it has been sitting outside this hangar for months. I can get a picture from Douglas St of the rear of the plane, but from Aviation Blvd on the other side of the plant is a good 200 yards, I don't have a telephoto lens.

I have to disagree with this picture, on this thread airpower.callihan.cc... the picture is from the Dayton Museum, however if you look at Callahan photos from WMF you can see the engine in the background on mattresses.

Someone is pulling our chain here.

Can you please be more specific on which image from WMF shows the mattress and engine? The site you linked shows images from both sites and also another thing to keep in mind is that there was a total of 4 engines 2 GE powerplants and 2 P&W powerplants. There is no real reason why PAV2 at WMF couldn't be seen with either of its GE powerplants on display.

Also if you could get a photo it would be much appreciated. Till then I shall updates the timeline as it stand now with your sighting. Thanks EH.

I goofed. I was looking at the pictures again and didn't notice the labels for the pictures from the link. I assumed all the pics were from WMF, when in fact the first page was and the rest are from Dayton.

I'll see if I can get a picture of the bird outside the NG hangar this weekend.

Well we know the RCS mock-up was in the white sands area near the RCS site but we weren't able to determine the time frame of the SAT image. That would be the next big hunt.

As for the current timelines on PAV1 and PAV2 if we continue the hun I'm sure we can track down some way of getting a fuller timeline either from museums or something
