Researchers have developed a plant-based cancer vaccine capable of kick-starting the body's immune response and being tailored to a patient's specific tumor type, according to a study.

"The idea is to marshal the body's own immune system to fight cancer," Levy said Monday, adding that he's optimistic he'll get positive results from the next clinical trial.

The process has already successfully cured cancer in mice.

This is a plant-based vaccine that would jump-start your own immune system to combat the cancer, rather then trying to destroy the cancer afterwards. This is the first time plant-based vaccines were tested on humans, and out of 16 patients that had a variety of ailments, 70% of the patients had a reaction to this vaccine and boosted their immune systems into fighting shape!
