Listen to Obama's recent interview with Lara Logan. He seems to indicate that he plans on being in charge of the U.S. for the next 8 to 10 years. Is this another one of his "visiting 57 states" slip-ups? I think we have to hope so. Surely he knows he's running for the office of President and not dictator. Or maybe he believes his wife will be the next President after him. It's amusing either way.

Why not? he also wants to be president of all 57 states.

This guy has done more to expand US government while campaigning than the last three administrations combined.

I guess that will give him time to visit all 57 states.

Never in the history of America, was any President ever elected by the People, every President was pre-cooked Rabbit to serve the Elite Thugs.

Let's see... elected in 2008, enters office in 2009, gets re-elected in 2012, new person gets elected in 2016, and goes into office in 2017.

2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017

Count up those years and see what you get.

The man's clearly a dunce.

Well, at least to anyone with any intelligence of their own. I can't believe the other half of the country hasn't figured this out yet. With all the media exposure Obama gets, you'd think people would notice his frequent gaffes and utter inability to form a coherent thought on his own. He's like a liberal version of Bush.

If you stretch it just a little more, you might even convince yourself about that explanation for his comment.

At best, its about 8 years and 3 months.

Presidents can only serve for a total of 8 years........

You gotta love the spin every time Obama says something stupid.

Maybe it was really a Freudian slip? Secretly he may have plans to amend the Constituition to allow for more than two terms in office?

Didn't Chavez recently do that in Venezuela?

Wow, a decade of Jimmy Carter II?
I don't think this country can wait that long for the next Reagan.

Edit: Maybe Obama likes counting with his toes.

dbates, I'm surprised at you! Well, no. Unfortunately, I'm not.

That's NOT what he said. Your title is sensational and factually incorrect.
Way to set an example of discussing the issues.

Obama said, "The objective of this trip was to have substantive discussions with people like President Karzai, Prime Minister Maliki, President Sarkozy and others, who I expect to be dealing with over the next 8-10 years"

And as evanmontegarde pointed out, he is dealing with these men NOW, and if he were president for 2 terms, he would be stepping down 10 years from now.

Sorry I don't have an immature quip to add to the others in your thread.

2008 doesn't count as he would be inagurated in January of 2009.

How could he make such an idiotic statement? 8-10 years? What planet is this guy on. It is only for 8 years, unless he trys changing that too. Does he plan on changing the Constitution for that too?

From 57 states to a 10 year term .. what a ruse.

You are such a Joker jetxnet. He is clearly speaking of the current year as well. Plus he has to look forward to the relationships and legacies he leaves behind for the next President who will have to have those same relationships.

He will have a lot of work to do just patching up many of the relationships with our Allies.

You Obama supporters are terrible at paying attention to detail, I have to say. The numbered year list is rediculous and doesn't add up to 10 years by trying to say that 2008 and 2017 count.

It's like when you supporters of Obama were trying to somehow come up with 57 states to support that slip of the tounge.

Lame

you guys are terrible at paying attention, either that or you refuse to look at the facts..

Oh the hypcrisy coming from the Bushies!

Hey heres some more Gaffes for you!

“President Putin of Germany.”
“down to pre-surge levels”
"Czechoslovakia”
“I'm afraid it's a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq/Pakistan border,"
He mistakened Somalia for Sudan!
And heres my favourite:
nz.youtube.com...
All from good ol' McCain.

Yet here we have bunch of desperate righties going on about something Obama said, which they did not read properly.

Its no wonder 90% of the threads here have nothing to do with the issues, people these days can't argue the failed policies of the GOP any longer.
