If say a few hundred thousand american children died because of sanctions , like Iraq in the 1990's, you have to remember this is just colateral damage and not to be taken personally . I would go as far as saying this unreasonable hostility towards those upholding the sanctions is more a case of resenting their freedoms than anything to do with any bombed cities, poverty, starvation and deaths of thousands.

Listen, I don't want to rain on your parade but if you deprive an elderly person on social security of just one check, you threaten their lives, and if you deprive them of more than that, it's likely to be a death sentence. Same goes for the disabled, the sick, and other people on fixed incomes. I don't care WHAT your world view is, when it gets right down to brass tacks, if it hurts people, it's not good, regardless.

Not only that, this has nothing to do with imperialism or materialism or capitalism or whatever you want to call it. It's the guys who run the planet, doing what they do best, through whatever nation they choose. At the moment, it's the US. Tomorrow it might be some other nation. But you can rest assured they are up to something other than imperialism. When it looks one way, you can be certain that the way it looks has absolutely nothing to do with what is actually going on.

The problem is, you cannot sanction a nation that equates 30% of the worlds GDP. This isnt Iran who has an economy of 200 billion dollars. We're talking about the richest, and worlds only superpower.

And what would you sanction the US with? The threat of unloading the US debt? What if the US nationalized all foreign investment (like so many country's have done in the past), that "debt" disappears over night.

This entire thread is a pathetically weak attempt to confuse your own envious wishes with reality. Your opinion, thus, is unintelligent.

You say they cant arrest us all? While I would love to agree with you I think you are hella naive to think they "they" cant do whatever the hell"they" want to do.I can think of dozens of times in the history of this country that our own government not only imprisoned its citizens with no evidence and no actionable cause but also killed its citizens, and Im talking about within the borders ,here inside the country. Kent State, Any Native American "Reservation"(they were here first!), Chicago Riots, L.A. Riots, there are many more examples. I think that "they" are doing just that, here and around the world.

Stop with all the hypocritical bull puckey. Fact of the matter is, the whole planet is a disaster area, a chaos threatening to eat us all, and we are all sitting here blaming each other for it. It has nothing to do with people. We are not the problem. If the historians hadn't thrown out the last 5000 years of history, we would all be acutely aware of that fact right now, and wouldn't be blaming each other for the trouble on the planet. But it's not the historians fault either. All this is leading up to something much bigger than any of our paradigms could address or comprehend for that matter, though we try.

It's not imperialism or socialism or communism or wahabbism. The real trouble makers on this planet are not even human. Stop blaming each other. stop stop stop.

but blaming each other is so much more fun than doing anything or productive toward making a change.

Attacking America would be rather stupid move, for all their alleged evilness they still have many friends in the world

NATO (26 countries i think), Australia, Argentina, Bahrain, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, New Zealand, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, India, Pakistan and i think even Indonesia would side with the US atm.

the current US administration isnt so much evil as it is Stupid, wether Obama or McCain will change this will remain to be seen.

The people of the USA need to remember its their country and they need to start holding these politicians accountable.

Hello ATS,

Although I have been reading posts on ATS for about a year I really never felt the urge to actually sign up. I enjoy reading the posts here and I find them mostly humorous. I don't buy about 97% of what is spouted here. I would like for about 35% of it to be true. I read the topic "Attack America Now" and the first several replies and promptly signed up so I could blast the author. But to quote numerous UFO reporters "Lo and Behold" (I find that statement funny) the blasters came out in force. I loved the ones from Apple. So now I'm just going to use this thread to introduce myself due to the fact that anything that could be said already has been.

I'm a civilian worker for the US Air Force and a reservist.
I'm a Conservative
I'm 43
I'm the father of 4
Divorced and Remarried
I've never seen a UFO
I've never seen an Alien, Ghost, or any Black ops technology prior to it being released to the public
I love my country
Hold on to your hats cause based on all posts I've read here and they have been extensive, you will not like this. I love my president!

Now for my thoughts.

Democracies (Real ones) are America! They are our brothers and sisters in the world. Democracies (Real Ones) do not attack and occupy democracies (Real ones). The best way for us to get to a global accord is through democracy. If all countries where such we would not need to war with each other. All the worlds citizens would have the right to post such nonsense as this post and not have to worry about it. All the world would have the luxury to grow complacent with their freedoms. and our children could grow fat and be happy and keep their heads, hands and lives for their beliefs.

We fight because there is evil in this world and it isn't us (USA).

The world engages in tribal warfare and this is what E.T. (If they exist) is waiting for us to stop, before they disclose themselves.

They are also waiting for our technology to reach a level (maybe with their help) where interaction with them is feasable (if they exist).

Why do I love my President George W. Bush?

1. His fundamental strategy is to bring real democracies to the world so a peaceful world can be realized. He is doing this despite your rants and raves and out right hate mongering that a lot of people are spouting.

2. He has liberated 2 oppressive regimes with less loss of life than any war in US history with exception to the Spanish American War. I find that impressive. While loss of life is always devastating there are times when you must make a stand. People ask me whether or not I would send my son to die in the wars in the Middle east. To them I say hell no! What person in their right mind would send their children to die (Think about that statement)? But would I send my son to fight? Hell yes! the cause is just and the reason is right. Freedom from oppression and freedom from tyranny for the people of the world is a just fight, and I would absolutely send my boy (Gabriel) to fight that fight. Like the Spartan mothers and wives would tell their soldiers, I would mimic their words and tell him "son with your shield or on it".

3. GWB has been stalwart and he has stayed resolved to the goal. No matter what any short sighted Hippie or majicmushroom consumer would spout he never wavered. He has brought the justice and he has my admiration for it.

I just wish he was a better speaker. I understand him, but I do recognize the lack of polish he displays. Unlike the new golden boy or the last one.

So now I guess it's time to read the responses that will tell me how bad GWB is. But just know before you post I have been reading this stuff for a long time now, and in the unlikely event of you having some sort of profound insight, your not going to have any effect on my thoughts.

Apple if I ever meet you my brother the first second and third round is on me.

i have no personal wish to overthrow your goverment but it would be nice if somebody did, while you say that it would put many lives at risk i can see it from the other side which tells me that for the safety of my children and to ensure that they have a future worth surviving for the sooner the regime in your country is gone and some good upstanding people are in charge then the brighter the futur will look for the whole world, you as a member of the united states must understand that the pride that has been placed in you regarding your nation has become akin to that of the germans regarding aerianism, while it is good to feel pride it must not blinker your vision as to the position that the rest of the world feels as your country increases the threat of global war by its actions, if you need to pray for something then i suggest that you direct it at your goverment,..... boomshanka

Where are you from and how much American food goes to your country and how much oil do you use a week?

It disgusts me that people sit back and tell us of our responsabilities or sit there and use products from China who the oil is for, bag America who fought over it, or get it from Russia whos position was maintained over that immense set of territories by 100 years of continuous warfare...

If you only ride a bicycle you can comment on how we get the job done, until then there is just as much blood on any of your hands...

Thanks for your kind responses to my very first venture.

Conny, Sure I'll buy you a coke. Even if the Bush hating Pepsi drinkers have issues with it.

lol

Actually I'm a Coke drinker as well but in the interest of putting away a little extra money for 2012 or Nibiru or an Islamist Fundamentalist caliphate I tend towords the cheaper Shasta, Select, or generic Grocery store brands. The bunker needs more concrete!!!

Peace, through Superior fire power.

It has nothing to do with whether or not anyone attacked America. War isn't about who is right, it is about who will be left. America is attacking Iraq and Afghanistan because it places America in a better position relative to rivals such as China. Tradition dictates that we make up cut excuses about international mandates and an axis of evil and a global war on terror, etc, but that's just public relations.

The real players, along with the serious scholars, all know that at the end of the day this is about who will be wealthy and who will be poor- who will have power and who will obey- in a world where 20% of the population uses 80% of the resources.

So war is about greed. There is no justice, and no "right side" in a battle between two greedy parties. The Iraqis and others are a non issue. Those who are not perpetrators are victims- and it really doesn't make any difference who is victimizing them, because one way or another they will be victimized (and if they weren't, they'd be victimizing others- they're only human- the same as the rest of us- and humans are evil, predatory creatures).

You prefer to see this as a debate between those who see that America is doing wrong and those who do not. It could just as well be argued that this is a debate between those who see that America's enemies are doing wrong and those who do not. Both sides are right, and I subscribe to both. I see that both sides are wrong.

Welcome to the jungle- rape or be raped. Sometimes both. If you don't like it, stay away from humans- they're dangerous.
