I thought it was over-hyped and not that great.
Not as original as we're led to believe either.

I'd give it 4/5 out of 10 i guess.

If you are serious about "preparing us" then i have no answer for that.

if i may perhaps ask, why?
do you not think that this kind of disclosur is relevant?
or do you just not believe that disclosur of this sort exists at all?

Let me ask you, do YOU think that a dinosaur/alien/monster like this exists?
(I mean it may do somewhere, but not in our realms.)

I do not, i think it was a film and not a muse film or anything like that.
Independence day was more disclosure than cloverfield

But seriously, i'll take it....it exists.....where? For how long? Why no mention of it, photos, rumours etc?

Just about every other type of mythical creature is known of or rumoured to exist, so Why not one that the government know is an impending threat??

It's just a film, enjoy it for what it is.

Exactly my thoughts they have to be trying to make fun.
Cloverfield was pure fiction the same as Godzilla.

I had monsters under my bed that were way more scarier.

Even some stories on the boards are more scary.

The monster was alien. At the end of the movie there is a backflash of the couple at the fairground recording themselves and some'thing' falls into the ocean. We can clearly see something falling from space into the sea. If it came by spacecrafts or meteorite i don't know but it came from up there.

To take it as a disclosure? Not. There are others whom are better candidates, imo. The only thing the makers went for is a Cloverfield 2. Good movie nonetheless, me thinks.

DISCLOSURE ?

Possibly. Look at it like this.
They dont have to continually prep you for one situation, in that movie they have created a possible reality. Ok so the alien type creature no ones really going to worry about that but, after seeing the realities of a situation where a city is completely in chaos. Explosions, etc.

With current situations (worldwide) and all the hype about UFO's, 2012 etc. Its something that might just be a harsh reality in a few years.

Its going to sit inside someones mind for along time.
The only reason parents find it acceptable that their kids see practically naked ladies everywhere is because they've slowly been opened up to it. If they were in there time again with their parents im sure they'd be disgusted.

Come on man, do you really think that Godzilla is going to attack New York, and spawn millions of baby spider godzillas, and have to be nuked?

No man, I was highly entertained by cloverfield, except the sickening camera work.

I gave the plot an 90%...

The whole Movie got a solid 80% for the horrid cameramanship.

Cloverfield was an excellent flick, it's a coming to terms movie...godzilla was a reaction to hiroshima and nagasaki and cloverfield was about 9-11

Doing the film from a human pov was a treat, the monster focus is old played and corny... I think they did a great job

i saw cloverfield recently and my take on it was basically a spin-off version of "king kong" sans the love affair. (or maybe godzilla is a better analogy?)

do i think something like this is possible?
absolutely it's possible.

At the risk of being on topic, I'm going to ask X-ray how do you think the movie is prepatory to disclosure?

I haven't seen the movie so I've no opinion at all one way or another...

I don't believe it is disclosure. It's a movie about monsters. What might have been somewhat disclosed are the modern military operations when an incident of such magnitude occurs. Maybe, the way that people were being evacuated, which was completely inappropriate, is part of the idea being shared.

Just my 2 cents.
