Protest over Pakistan share slump

Angry investors have attacked the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) in protest at plunging Pakistani share prices.

More than 200 people took part in the demonstration at the country's main stock exchange in the southern city.

The protesters demanded a temporary closure of the KSE to stop further slides. It is down 14% since Monday and reached an 18-month low this week.

Well, it's amazing what you get to hear of and what you dont.

I had no idea Pakistan was in such trouble.

But why is it that the stock exchange in one area can fall so much, over any given period, yet not apparently affect every other market.

Surely there has to be some knock on effect, and what caused Pakistans drop in the first place?

Was it to do with the decline of the dollar and the possible shady goings on 7 years ago? Is it to do with belief that Pakistan is now harbouring terrorists?
