Mybigunit, you said…

Oldthinker do some old research on greed. Its about money and power plain and simple as that. Most of our events revolve around money one way or the other deal with it. Greed runs this nation and that is how it is. We have a socialism in this nation that rivals others of the past. The only difference is the socialism is money being siphoned of the middle class right up to the extremely wealthy. For you to say Bush was wealthy before hand then you should just say anyone of the 100,000 or so people worth 30 million or more should just give up and not try to make anymore money they have enough. How many of that 100,000 do that? Not many. Greed my friend and when you look at whos making a killing off this war you will see. Follow the money.

OK, thx for the reply…been cutting the grass sorry it took so long to get back to you.

Didn’t want this to be a referendum on GB…but…

No, he should not, nor any of them should not give up…finding/making money…ru upset that there are people who are rich?

I certainly am not rich, but I say ‘God Bless’ anyone who has found success….

Back to my original question…linkage

1) If there are not that many bad guys
2) And GB has given up any hope for a positive lasting legacy…by still being in Iraq…

Should not there be something to measure up (equal to, in scale) to the trillions of dollars and resources over there?

No you said this

BUSH WAS RICH BEFORE COMING TO THE WHITE HOUSE...THIS IS NOT ABOUT MONEY FOR HE AND HIS FAMILY....THERE IS MORE TO THIS STORY THAN THIS....ANYONE OUT THERE READING THIS???????

Saying that this isnt about money because GWB was already rich and I told you that it makes no difference that he is already rich greed still is in play. So for you to say there is more to the story than greed I say your wrong. You answered your own question in saying there isnt that many bad guys. The war on terror is a war on an illusion. Its a phrase to keep this illusionary war going so the military industrial complex and the banks can make a ton of money. Its nothing more or nothing less than that. Sorry we were duped by not only GW but our whole government dems and repubs. They are all getting greased on the sides while you and I foot the bill.

Appreciate the reply...and your contribution...

I am going to roleplay here a bit...please take some time to think this through....

I am a man, and like most man, get a large percentage of my worth from my occupation...I want to be respected and thought of in a good light, just like 99% of other men, out there....u know it's true...

I already have 30 million...and am the new President of the USA...I already have the ability to make money, after all I come from a rich, well-to-do family!

Our country has been attacked....I will respond accordingly, my legacy is important to me....I will protect us!================

====================================

Couple that with the fact we have attacked tells me there are not that many bad guys out there....

And GWB is over there protecting us from something far greater than we know...

it just doesn't add up in my mind....

I understand what you are saying and I will give you accolades on this point here. When the father Bush was president and hurricane Andrew came and smacked Florida the governor here sat on his hands. Well everyone blamed Bush and instead of Bush coming out and defending himself he said nothing and he took the brunt of that whole debacle even though it wasnt his fault. To this day not many people know this. So could this Bush be doing the same thing? Could there be a bigger threat that he is protecting us from? Sure but I wouldnt bet on it. If Bush & Cheney didnt go so far out of his way to make sure his cronies werent making a TON of money off this war I would probably halfway agree with you but because so much money is on the line here I tend to feel it is about money.

More support for my theory...see this other thread...No Regime Should Ignore The Will Of Its People: Bush

The questions is...WHY IS HE IGNORING US?

IS THERE A REASON?

CAVEAT: Not for the faint at heart.

For interested thinkers, (who consider my assertion, that there’s more to this story than we know…see initial post for more information)

I found this article…haven’t read it all…but, in my mind, the threat matches the level of resources given/spent in Iraq…if true? I’ll be looking it over during the next few weeks…you are welcome to join me…and discuss.

www.exopolitics.org...

Here’s a piece of the Introduction

“In his 2003 State of the Union address President George W. Bush declared "the gravest danger facing America and the world, is outlaw regimes that seek and possess nuclear, chemical and biological weapons." (1) In his speech, President Bush eloquently expressed his main motivation for launching a preemptive war against Iraq in order to prevent "a day of horror like none we have ever known."

That's the most naive, head in the sand, quote I've read all week!!!!

I wish it were true, but I can't lie to myself...

Doing a small scale job would be as easy as a trip to the hardware store...

First of all, I am a patriot and appreciate those that protect us...CIA, FBI, NSA, ATF, etc...

And I clearly understand that their hard work has helped to make us all safe...safe from the 'big ones' that is.

Yes, protecting us from those major bigtime threats...that's what they do...I UNDERSTAND this!

But what I don't understand is...please bare with me and follow the logic and think about it yourself for a day or so, talk about this with a good friend and reply if you like.

IT SEEMS COMPLETELY IL-LOGICAL TO ME THAT NOT ONE BAD GUY, NOT ONE!!!...HAS FOUND SOME DYNAMITE OR SOME OTHER EXPLOSIVE AND WENT TO A BASEBALL GAME ENTRANCE OR A TRAIN STATION AND BLOWN HIMSELF UP!

Think about it, not one???? If there are a few million that hate us (or more) why has not one come across the southern border, worked for a transportation company or something, stole a few sticks (and please don't say that stuff is guarded so well to the point of no one stealing 'one piece')

How can this be explained?

? Not that many bad guys ?
? Are we that good ?

I have no conclusion or earth-shattering (no pun intended) answer here, it just doesn't add up to me?

Am I off base ATS-ers??

Today's memorial was a good thing...I'm glad we are safe, but my original question still rings in my mind...

Let's get a few things straight here. Saudi Arabia gave the US troops free harbor during Iraq's incursion into Kuwait. This sent many muslims ape doo doo including bin laden. They saw it as an unforgivable disrespect and dishonor.

This revisionist history aint getting it with me. Our foreign policies have also not been helpful.

Do I support terrorism in any form? NO. But let's get our facts straight here.

[HOWEVER, it is interesting to see that the vast majority of these terrorist attacks are NOT islamic related. A good deal of them are due to eco-terrorists, racial purists, and what looks like gangsterism -- not Al Queda. The majority of them are domestic groups with no islamic association at all.]

Personally I believe that may be ONE of the reasons why this all happened.
Sure has worked well for them in cleaning up the streets and making BIG BUCKS off fines and such from normal everyday people who get pulled MORE NOW THAN EVER and searched (for no reasons) and arrest everyone with warrants etc ....So many people I know going to jail for misdemeaner warrants it is unreal ..I know since the Gov went broke and they cut down on federal funding our little town has gone NUTS with making money from fines now .

Well I think one explanation could be that OUR government did 9/11, so...maybe there are no terrorists that would harm us?

Thanks, but I can't buy that...our leaders, for the most part, are here to protect us...I just can't agree with your proposal/question.

Maybe we are just 'that good'

I don't know...still puzzled?

Patriots and Pinheads, smile...any other ideas?

OT out!

I am with you. OF COURSE there have been multiple attacks that have been dismissed and suppressed. Train wrecks, explosions, poisonings, and fires. In fact, the fires in California are probably terrorist related. How about the levies in New Orleans? I would believe it is possible.

I am convinced that the Columbia disaster was a terrorist plot. (They declared it to be a non-terrorist event immediately, without any investigation of whether it might be a result of sabotage!)

www.abovetopsecret.com...

There is complete collusion between mainstream media and the government on this one. There's not going to be any speculation about terrorist attacks -- no one is going to give terrorists the satisfaction!

Unfortunately, the American people are complete losers in that decision. I would prefer to simply know the facts.

There's no point to terrorism if nobody knows it's terrorism. Otherwise, it's just sabotage or perhaps "deadly inconvenienceism"

Increasing the apparent frequency of accidents and mechanical failures does not strike fear into the hearts of your enemies, nor does it achieve any goal but schadenfreude. I am inclined to disbelieve that such incidents are terrorist; they tend to take credit themselves.
