These are awesome pics and sincerely look like theer could have been water ... what else would make these kinds of formations ... and the false-color one is almost misleading showing that large "sea" of blue.

Very interesting photos. So what happened to the water? If that much water was present than wouldnt that mean an atmosphere similar to our own at one point with crustacaean life forms in the water? Interesting to think about.

There have been a number of photos of Mars posted on ATS showing what would appear t be actual water--not just "water once upon a time." I vividly recall one pic that shows one of the rovers had just tracked through some muddy muck. Mushy tire prints through dark sludge. Um, what would that be???

The NASA dance of the seven-thousand veils of water on Mars continues...

Hey Guys. certainly are some good pics. We have briefly been looking at them on another thread through the mars pics site. On page 10 theey have found what they call a "new deposit".

I dont know what they are, or how it formed if anyone has an idea, please share

That picture looks vaguely to me like the area in which the picture that was taken of a landslide I think; it was last year or at least a few months ago I believe.

Yeah, a landslide, is this through wind, water or 'mars-quakes'? Someone else has suggested that water may have broken through and caused sand deposits to form.

Either way some really interesting stuff, cant wait until we see something more concrete or clearer.

Thanks
