B&D and S&M pretty much go hand in glove. The "S", sadist, generally practices B&D of some form or another on the "M", masochist. Bondage and
Degradation. I guess they get a kick out of it somehow. S&M is the package, and B&D is the contents.
Icarus, you really don't know what you're talking about do you? S&M is about getting pleasure from giving or receiving pain. B&D is about getting
pleasure for restraining or being restrained.
Of course they can be mixed, but so can any combination of fetishes.
Back to Barbie, there is no "tools of the trade" indicating either S&M or B&D in this package. I suggest that anyone seeing such purely from the
dolls clothes is a bit of a perv themselves...

That is exactly counter the message of Christ. Gentle admonition is a much more effective initial means of communicating with others to help bring
enlightenment upon them. How do you like to be made aware of your screw-ups? Would you like someone to come alongside you and discuss the issue with
compassion and grace, or do you prefer getting slammed?
Mark 12
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first
commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
But why settle for the greatest good when you can have the greatest evil?

So, being bound and degraded isn't painful? Whatever.
Whatever you are angry and acting out against, it isn't me. I suggest you take another tack.
John 15
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the
world hateth you.
The rock you are heading for will break you if you fall on it and crush you to powder if it falls on you.
Matthew 21
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this
is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Icarus, I am disappointed as you have previously seemed like a sensible fellow. If however you persist in trowing bible quotes at me to avoid
answering the questions posed I see no point in continuing this conversation.
Peace

You lost me when you brought the bible into this.
Guess I should have noticed the cross.

i grew up with the teenage mutant ninja turtles, am i going around eating pizza, and hitting people with swords/sai/nunchaku/bo, its not even that
bad, there have been FAR worse barbie outfits, that no one cares about, i remeber this one, where barbie wearing a miniskirt that should have been a
belt, also, barbie has a pink car, but do you see the people who play with those barbie dolls growing up with flashy pink cars that you want to blow
up? No. also, most people grow up and forget about some of the toys they play with, and i doubt barbie will stick in there mind when they are thirty
or forty, this is just silly, instead of protesting about toys, perhaps you can take your kid out, go swimming, hiking, or just get her out of the
house for a walk around the block, people have bigger issues than a stupid barbie doll
images below are of sai, nunchaku, and bo, in this order, for those who dont know what they are

I read your whole post, and I particularly like the last part of the first big paragraph about getting children outdoors for some real activity.

Again, I just have to say whatever to you. You wish I would backpedal. Christians will be bashed whether I want them to be or not. It isn't up to me,
and it certainly isn't up to you.
Here's another quote for you, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap."

So, what do you do when your kids see women like that dressed walking about in the street?
Give Barbie a break, she's had to put up with boring Ken for years, it is about time she let her hair down!

Hm. Looks more like Biker Barbie to me than anything else. Unless her accessories include a gag ball, hand cuffs, and fringed whip, I don't
understand the fuss. Besides, it doesn't have to be marketed as a children's toy. Many Barbies are manufactured strictly to be collector's
editions.

Yeah, its pretty much been made clear already that this doll was intended for adult collectors to purchase, fans of the comic it is based on. The doll
is not accessorized with whips and chains or anything like that.
I made it clear this thread was somewhat tongue in cheek from the beginning. I've just been trying to clean up the mess since then.
from my morning devotion today
Dear friends . . . defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people. -Jude 1:3 (NLT)
It's sad, it's unenviable, it's challenging, but it's necessary. It's what we're called to do whenever the truths concerning our faith come
under attack. It's what Jude is writing about here. It's defending the faith.
source
This thread somehow went from a laugher about a provacatively dressed doll to "Christians are morons for speaking out about it." A sign of the
times, I guess.
